Chester is a young man with a dream - he has long desired to become a professional paranormal investigator. There is nothing in particular that pushed him in this direction (e.g., no personal interactions with the supernatural as with some of the other PC's).

However, he is fascinated by the occult and by the process of exposing the super-reality that exists at the edge of modern consciousness.

Anyhow, here's the upshot: Chester is looking to start a paranormal investigative team. To this end, he has advertised on the Lazlo Society website and in the local newspaper - where ever your character might be living.

**The newspaper add (in the classifieds section) would read:

Quote:

"Upstart paranormal investigation agency seeks dedicated hunters, scholars, and psychic adepts to help uncover the secrets of the paranormal."

Perhaps you are also interested in joining a group to continue your own investigations?
Perhaps you are looking for answers to questions regarding your history/background?
Perhaps you ain't interested at all? :(

**If you are on Lazlo, you can reply directly to his post in the Classifieds sub-forum. Otherwise, you can post a response to the add here in this thread and we can assume it is a private email you have sent Chester. Once we get some in character interest, we will schedule the first meeting of the new group.

**Here is Chester's post from Lazlo:

Hello, my name is Chester Allen. I am in the process of assembling a team of investigators and I'm throwing out the announcement here on the Lazlo boards because of the Agency's reputation as a top-notch assemblage of hunters, scholars, and psychic adepts.

Any opportunities for networking are welcome.

My budget is small, and I cannot promise full time employment. However, I do have a job lined up. If there is interest, please PM me and we can discuss the terms of the relationship.

Thanks,

Chester

PS. Also, any advice on the start-up are welcome too. No need to reinvent the wheel as they say.

Name: Chester Allen

Posted Image

Occupation: Paranormal Investigator

PCC: Para-Psychologist (NPC)

Physical Description: Chester is 5'11" tall, has closely cropped red hair, and a rather average build. He is very energetic and excitable - often being described as a "go-getter".

Background: Chester was born in Hibbing, Minnesota but soon moved to Minneapolis when his father lost his job working in the mines on the Iron Range. Living in the city provided Chester with ample opportunity to indulge in the strange and he took full advantage of it. It was during his teenage years that he acquired his interest in the occult and paranormal and it was an interest that he carried with him into college. At the University of Minnesota, Chester majored in psychology and minored in history/world religions.

Not interested in continuing on to graduate school or taking some corporate job, Chester has decided to pursue his passion - the paranormal. This is his life's goal and so he has taken the first step - the creation of a investigative team. He has high (often unrealistic) hopes for the nascent agency and is currently recruiting team members.

Results of Personality Test:

Your Type Is: ENTP "Inventor"

Extroverted: 100%
Intuitive: 12%
Thinking: 1%
Perceiving: 11%

Type Description:
"'Clever' is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best."

"ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport."

"ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they tend to become extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges, and tackle with determin- ation.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. However, they do tend to be extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general."

There aren't many Inventors, say about two percent of the population, but they have great impact on our everyday lives. With their innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, Inventors are always on the lookout for a better way, always eyeing new projects, new enterprises, new processes. Always aiming to "build a better mousetrap."Inventors are keenly pragmatic, and often become expert at devising the most effective means to accomplish their ends. They are the most reluctant of all the types to do things in a particular manner just because that's the way they have been done. As a result, they often bring fresh, new approaches to their work and play. They are intensely curious and continuously probe for possibilities, especially when trying to solve complex problems. Inventors are filled with ideas, but value ideas only when they make possible actions and objects. Thus they see product design not as an end in itself, but as a means to an end, as a way of devising the prototype that works and that can be brought to market. Inventors are confident in their pragmatism, counting on their ability to find effective ways and means when they need them, rather than making a detailed blueprint in advance. A rough idea is all they need to feel ready to proceed into action.

Inventors often have a lively circle of friends and are interested in their ideas and activities. They are usually easy-going, seldom critical or carping. Inventors can be engaging conversationalists, able to express their own complicated ideas and to follow the ideas of others. When arguing issues, however, they may deliberately employ debate skills to the serious disadvantage of their opponents.

Inventors are usually non-conformists in the workplace, and can succeed in many areas as long as the job does not involve too much humdrum routine. They make good leaders on pilot projects that test their ingenuity. And they are skilled at engineering human relationships and human systems, quickly grasping the politics of institutions and always wanting to understand the people within the system rather than tell them what to do. No matter what their occupation, however, Inventors display an extraordinary talent for rising to the demands of even the most impossible situations. "It can't be done" is a challenge to an Inventor and elicits a reaction of "I can do it."
