You see before you the very definition of geek. The messed up hair, the pocket protector, the broken horn-rimmed glasses, and the ever present laptop under his arm. A great tragedy befell this un assuming person many years ago. His brother had died right in front of him, although corners could not determine the cause he assumed something supernatural. After that he began studying the paranormal and occult to try and figure out what happened. He has actively been working on devices that will help him see and commune with spirits.

September 23

I have not ever kept a journal before, but it has been over a year since my brother’s death. I am having trouble coping with my thoughts. I have began work on a device that I hope will help me see the dead. My friends say I am crazy and stupid. I feel though that this is the only way I will find out how my brother really died.

November 22

I have finally done it!! Last night while I was at the cemetery near a mausoleum and wearing the goggles I was working on for nearly a month, I saw a ghost. It was a rather lovely female, that seemed to be wearing an old dress. It looked like something you would see in an old western movie. She seems to be looking for something. I attempted to talk to her but it seemed that she didn’t see or hear me. I know she was a ghost because when I took off my goggles the woman was not anywhere to be seen. I think I will have a friend try them out tonight. The only problem is the visage did not respond to any verbal communication maybe I can devise a device to communicate with them.

I went back to the same spot with my friend, but he did not see the specter. I looked in after him and saw it. Maybe it is a figment of my imagination, but how come I always see them though my goggles. Maybe if I can design a device that can commune with her I can find out. I shall begin work on one tomorrow.

I finally completed the device and talked to the spirit. She is said she was sad and looking for something but could not remember what. I promised that if she could remember I would help her find it. We talked for about 5 minutes before the batteries died on my head phones, I guess I will have to see if I can make the batteries last longer.

December 23

I have been talking with the specter for many days now. Her name is Tanya Smith and she was alive during the gold rush and doesn’t believe she is dead. We actually managed to talk for several hours before my headphones died on me this time I guess these new batteries did the trick. I noticed that she keeps wondering around the mausoleum as if trying to find a door. She even passes the door as if it is a wall. I wonder if what she is looking for is in there. I guess I can look when I get some time off from work.

Of course, I am late again. This time I am afraid I might have missed out on an exelent oppertunity. Oh well, have to put the book up seems I have arrived at my destination. I write later how things went.

results of personality test:

Your type is: INTP "Architect"

Introverted: 78%
Intuitive: 25%
Thinking: 25%
Perceptive: 33%

Type Decription
"INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.

Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.

INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to almost anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves."

Architects need not be thought of as only interested in drawing blueprints for buildings or roads or bridges. They are the master designers of all kinds of theoretical systems, including school curricula, corporate strategies, and new technologies. For Architects, the world exists primarily to be analyzed, understood, explained - and re-designed. External reality in itself is unimportant, little more than raw material to be organized into structural models. What is important for Architects is that they grasp fundamental principles and natural laws, and that their designs are elegant, that is, efficient and coherent.

Architects are rare - maybe one percent of the population - and show the greatest precision in thought and speech of all the types. They tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies instantaneously, and can detect contradictions no matter when or where they were made. It is difficult for an Architect to listen to nonsense, even in a casual conversation, without pointing out the speaker's error. And in any serious discussion or debate Architects are devastating, their skill in framing arguments giving them an enormous advantage. Architects regard all discussions as a search for understanding, and believe their function is to eliminate inconsistencies, which can make communication with them an uncomfortable experience for many.

Ruthless pragmatists about ideas, and insatiably curious, Architects are driven to find the most efficient means to their ends, and they will learn in any manner and degree they can. They will listen to amateurs if their ideas are useful, and will ignore the experts if theirs are not. Authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them. Architects are interested only in what make sense, and thus only statements that are consistent and coherent carry any weight with them.

Architects often seem difficult to know. They are inclined to be shy except with close friends, and their reserve is difficult to penetrate. Able to concentrate better than any other type, they prefer to work quietly at their computers or drafting tables, and often alone. Architects also become obsessed with analysis, and this can seem to shut others out. Once caught up in a thought process, Architects close off and persevere until they comprehend the issue in all its complexity. Architects prize intelligence, and with their grand desire to grasp the structure of the universe, they can seem arrogant and may show impatience with others who have less ability, or who are less driven.
