Jasmine listens to the exchange going on between Kira and Durandal her eyes wary and alert for any changes in the situation. In response to the other queer looking creature she says, "It would seem you are a bit of a broken record. 'Put down the weapon and explain yourself.' With you still brandishing weapons at me I am hardly inclined to put it down and step away, but I will make the first move towards talking rather than fighting to show that I did not come here to cause trouble." As she finishes talking she retracts the sword so that it becomes a silver armband. The armour does not disappear and she stands tall and unflinching. "I have put away my weapon as much as I'm willing. How about you show me the same courtesy."

==Kira==

Kira feels the power leave him, drops the dagger, and re-opens the connection. I was trying to be reasonable, this is a safe place for those who would stand against the hordes of demons that promise to invade this realm and I am one of those standing against the demons. I can understand why you might not like me, I'm not that great a guy by your standards, of that I'm certain. However, I never said we had to be friends, just that we might work together. Now you have gone and attacked a potential ally who was trying to defend a safe haven from an evil that is far worse than I am. Now, are you all of our enemy, or would you stand with us, myself included, in so much as we are against the demons?

Dukat sees the stone fall to the ground, sees Kira drop his weapon, and levels his staff at the intruder. "Did you just attack him? Hostilities will not be tolerated."

Ignoring the queer looking man Jasmine looks again at the man communicating with her sword. "Perhaps you are under some false notion that my sword will march into battle without me. Let me correct you. You do not negotiate with my sword. I am its wielder. We are connected and I am the one to whom you need to talk. Do not presume to bypass me as though I am not here because you think me less powerful. A sword needs a hand to wield it and I am that hand."

==Kira==

Kira frowns, and the emotion carries through to his voice, "lady, don't patronize me. Your sword just attacked me and it sure as hell didn't need your help. Don't underestimate intelligent weapons, they can be as dangerous to their wielders as they are to the wielder's enemies. It is more likely that the sword will end up wielding you."

Kira throws up a mind block to attempt to prevent the entity from continuing mental attacks. Not an instant later while she is still facing Kira Dukat turns invisible.

Surprise attack: Mental blast (level 5 invocation)
Standard save vs psionics (though it is not a psionic ability, it is magical in nature) means half damage and no debuff penalties. Otherwise it hits her with the force of a sudden migraine headache or shooting pain in the head/neck/spine.
Damage: 5d6=21
Penalties: -2 initiative, strike, parry, and dodge. -20% on all skills. Duration: 1d4+5=6 melee rounds.

"You invaded my territory, I warned you to put it down, it attacked him, you refused. This is not a negotiation. Put it down NOW!" His voice booms from somewhere in the room.

OOC: Will roll initiative once I get Dukat leveled provided she chooses to fight back.

As Dukat issues his challenge the three Stone Masters finally come to. They look around a moment trying to figure out what is going on. Gregory steps up and says something. Suddenly all magic in the room halts. Dukat is visible and the mental blast halted inches from Jasmine. "You will stop this at once. Your paranoia is going to cost you potential allies and I will not have you desecrate this newly founded pyramid with blood. Now, put your weapons and spells away before I cast the lot of you into limbo".

Jasmine looks over at the stone masons that were now issuing orders. Well, for now it seems we will be spared the burden of battle. I wonder what is going on around here. This is a whole new level of on edge. The sooner we can get out of here the better I think. These guys aren't much for talking and I don't think there is much wisdom to be had from them. All attack and no thought. Jasmine changes the sword back into the armband and lets the armour disperse. "If someone could please tell me how to get out of here I think I've had about all I can stand of this company."

==Dukat and Kira==

Dukat takes a few breaths and quickly composes himself. "Not before we know why you are here, how you arrived," Dukat motions to Kira's broken stone, "and why your weapon attacked my ally after he backed off. Once Gantu un-freezes he will be able to take your statement, determine if you are telling the truth, and determine if you should be allowed to leave."

Kira picks up his dagger and the broken stone then turns to Gregory, "nice ability, and just in time. I don't suppose you can fix this as well?" He shows the man the broken piece of the anklet. "Something in that weapon attacked me when I tried to communicate with it telepathically."

"If your friend wants to know why my sword broke his stone, then he can ask." She smiles pleasantly. "As for why I am here and how I arrived I really have no idea. I was running from a Hound Master and 8 hounds when I suddenly ended up here. How I got here is something I'd hope you can tell me. And since you have done nothing but fling questions, accusations and magical attacks at me since I got here I think that is enough. Until you can deign to give me your name, tell me who you are where I am I will not be saying anything else."

The dragon mage acquiesces to the request, "I have no idea how you arrived here, perhaps one of them can tell you?" He indicates the Atlantians. "As for where you are, this is a secure area which is why we have been so defensive. In the greater scheme of things, you are on Earth in the Sol system of the Milky Way Galaxy, or rather, one of the earths in one of the universes. Probably not the same planet you are used to. My name is Dukat and the one with the dagger is Kira, we have overseen the construction of this pyramid which is intended to be a stronghold against the impending invasion of a demon horde."

The Stone Master who spoke takes a deep breath. "I am Gregory Hawkins. I am a Stone Master here to build pyramids for the defense of this dimension. These individuals are Kira and Dukat. Both of them are a bit jumpy due to the coming war we are expecting. I suspect that you got here through the pyramid you are standing in. We were about to test it when you came through. Now, are you saying you came here from the Nightlands? I didn't think anyone actually visited that place or even lived there".

==Dukat and Kira==

"I take it from the lack of response that you can't fix this stone then?" Kira inquires. "It seems that its having broken has diminished my psychic energy which I was working on using to develop a technique to help expedite the building process. We were off to such a good start, a pity."

"I don't suppose either of you can restore Gantu?" Dukat indicates the still frozen comrade, "debriefing her really is his job, he may need to take record of it. Until then I suppose I can play host. Please come to my office. I have coffee and doughnuts, do they have those where you are from? They are perhaps the best cooked food I have ever tasted, but this world really does have great cuisine..." If she accompanies him back to the office he tells her all about pizza (you can put so many other foods on it! It never has to be the same twice), hamburgers (best cooked meat he has tried yet, but they are even better raw), Oreo cookies (great with something called "whipped cream" on top), popcorn (he tries a new flavor every day), peanut butter (best eaten while still in the jar, encased in a loaf of bread), chocolate (women seem to like it, and since she's a woman she might like it too) and beer (people get together in large groups to drink it loudly).

Gregory shakes his head at Kira. "I could put it back together, but I doubt that I could restore it's power. Perhaps an Artisan could. They are few and far between however. I have met only one in my travels".

Gantu looks around. He could feel the new power coursing through him, but only in the back ground. It seemed to have taken the place of, or even just supplimented his armor. Looking around, his conversation with the being appeared to not have been instantanoues. Aproaching Kira, he asked, "What happened?"

In response to Gregory Kira says, "the information on where or how I might even find such a person would be most helpful and appreciated. I would not soon forget it."

He then turns to answer Gantu, "there has been a relatively minor confrontation with a intruder. It has been dealt with and the intruder is being held by Dukat, as a guest in his office, until you can conduct an investigation in to her identity and determine if she should be released. She and I are not on the friendliest of terms after the confrontation, the intelligence in her weapon did this to me," he indicates the broken stone he is holding and where it fell off of his ankle, "but it appears, from my point of view, to have been a most unfortunate miss understanding.

"When she arrived everyone froze in space for some reason. I was the first to come to and I saw that everyone was frozen so I attempted to apprehend and disarm her, but not harm her. I snuck up behind her and pressed my dagger to her throat and told her to drop her weapon and explain herself. Shortly thereafter Dukat unfroze and tried to help me. When I attempted telepathic communication with the weapon it, for lack of a better description, pulled at my very soul and broke this stone, permanently depleting my psychic power reserves. I had not threatened it, only tried to reason with it and its owner while preserving the safety of the pyramid and those inside. Because you were all frozen I had to assume that she might be hostile and take appropriate actions to prevent her from harming you or the pyramid, but all I did was take control of her actions by putting a knife to her throat, and ask both her and the weapon to separate from each other.

"I will leave it to you to determine if she represents a threat to us or the pyramid in any way, but on the surface she appears to be a victim of circumstance. The weapon itself and the intelligence therein is what may be dangerous."

Listneing intently, Gantu's eyebrows shift. "Pressing a knife to her throat? That may have been a touch far. I wasn't 'here' persay, so I suppose it was your call. I will go talk to her. Good luck with your stone sir." Gantu makes a slight bow as he leaves to go to Dukat's office.

Arriving at the office, Gantu knocks lightly. "Hello. Kira told me we had a guest. May I come in?"

If admited, Gantu looks over the newcomer. "My name is Gantu. May I ask your name?"

Jasmine looks up as another man enters the room.

Gantu

"My name is Gantu. May I ask your name?"

"My name is Jasmine Kade. Friends call me Jas or Kade, but I don't think of any of you as friends yet so may as well stick to Jasmine. You seem to have quite the assortment of "people" here...", she says turning back to Dukat.

Gantu takes off his detective hat and bows slightly, his horns sticking out past his short black bangs.

"We do. Most are human. Kira, Dukat and I are the exceptions. Would you like to follow me so we can discuss such things at length, assuming your host is done with you?" Gantu looks to Dukat for permission to make off with her.

==Dukat==

Dukat eats a doughnut.

He also offers one to Gantu. "Just a minute, please feel free to help yourself to any of my snacks. I'll give my statement to Gantu outside then leave the two of you alone." He steps outside and closes the door.

"I think there has been an unfortunate accident which lead to an intense misunderstanding, but since security is your domain I have kept her in custody until you could assess the situation. Kira was injured by something, but she was probably just scared. She seems almost as strong willed and cocky as he is. I was going to attack her when she refused to disarm herself and Kira was injured by some invisible attack. I told her to drop her sword, but instead she changed it into an arm-band, I did not feel it wise to allow an intruder to keep their weapon, even if sheathed. It appeared that she had frozen all of us and seemed to me that she was a potentially great threat, since everyone else was incapacitated. Luckily Gregory came to and activated the pyramid's internal security systems so combat proved completely unnecessary. she still has the weapon now, but the pyramid's security systems are in effect and she has not tried to use it since. Forcing it from her would have just led to more combat, which I don't think any of us wanted. As unusual as it sounds, Kira seemed a little frightened by whatever happened. You can use my office to question her, I'll wait out here until you are done, unless you wish me to join you in there. She is, after all, still armed."

Gantu declined the doughnuts sadly, "No. I'm not hungry."

He listened intently to Dukat. "No I do not believe it was her who froze us. IT was probably just a side effect of her coming through. Or it was to keep us from reacting the way we did. Either way, she is here, and no one is dead, so let us not fault her for appearing. Fate knows the rest of us just showed up here ourselves, so punishing her for being late seems a little unfair. Thank you for the information. I will hear her story myself."

If Dukat has nothing else to say, Gantu open the door to the office, and invite Jasmine to a walk and talk once again, "Well Miss? If you would please?"

Before Jasmine forgets as she walks by she thanks Dukat for his kind offer of food and tells him that she would like to eat with him later if she is still around. "For now it would seem I am a little preoccupied." She turns and follows Gantu the way he had indicated for her to go.

Jasmine exhales as she begins to talk. The exhale seems to indicate she is about to launch into a bit of a story and does not seem to hold any irritation. "Well I suppose you will want to hear my account first hand. Honestly, I don't know how I ended up here. I was in the Nightlands being chased by a Hound Master and 8 hounds last I checked and then all of a sudden I end up here. I don't know how this could have happened. My sword had been communicating with me...calling to me almost. I don't know if you know much about the Nightlands and the Ba'al, but trying to take an Artifact weapon from them is very dangerous. Almost a suicide mission. I was retrieving the weapon and had not made a clean getaway yet. I had to leave my previous weapon there in order to secure Durandal, which was no small loss. This weapon however, is a Greatest Artifact weapon and they are very rare. In particular this sword is special. We are connected and I will not be separated from it for any reason, unless I am killed first. While this change in area may have been timely and helped me to escape my pursuers, it is nonetheless confusing and inconvenient. I have no idea where I am."

Gantu listened as they walked. "I do not know of the Nightlands. From your story, you sound as if you are a theif and these Ba'al are simply defending their property. If that is the case, I am inclined to have my collegues open the portal you arrived through and send you back. You also, even if they were a bit jumpy, have somehow harmed my collegue. That is another reason I should have you sent back from whence you came. However. This planet, which is named Earth, is in need of powerful beings. There is a war coming. This war has engulfed entire dimensions before this one. I can not garuntee your safety in the upcoming war, but if you agree to fight with us, I can offer you safe haven from your persuers. I do not mean to threaten you, but circumstances are dire."

Jasmine smiles a wry smile. "You do indeed not know about the Nightlands if you would call me a thief for taking an Artifact weapon from the Ba'al. The Ba'al are evil beyond evil and seek to enslave all things. They are seeking to enslave my world. The Artifact weapons are powerful and can be used against them. They cannot weild an Artifact weapon so when they find them they lock them away so others won't be able to either. Recovering these weapons are nigh on impossible once they have them. I am no thief. This sword has chosen me and I have agreed to take up the call. This sword is more mine than it will ever be theirs. We are bonded until I die and it seeks a new host to fight for freedom. It would seem in this world the best I can get are threats from just about everyone I meet. What is so worth saving here? My home world is in dire straights as well."

Gantu answered the last question immediately, "This world has billions of innocent sentient beings that would be almost helpless against the coming hordes. If they are not protected, they will be killed, enslaved or even captured for use as moving rations." Gantu thought about the rest of her response for a moment. "I can only take your word for what these Ba'al are, as you also admited yourself that you took the artifact, Durandel as you call it."

"Let us simply work with what I know you have done. My collegue's possession was partially destroyed. It means a great deal to him. I think joining us in a war for such a thing seems a bit much, I may have been a touch hasty. What if you were to help him restore it? If you agreed to at least attempt that, there will be no bad blood between us. You can decide after that whether to stay and help or to be on your way."
