Asv. wasn't sure about this creature. He had never been offered anything, not without a price. He doesn't lower his swords all the way, he is still ready in case of attack. He eyes the arm for a moment and looks back up at the creature. He shakes his head and as politely as he can, declines the offer of gargoyle. "You keep what you kill." He says, he keeps the demanding tone out of his voice to try and get an answer from the giant beast. "Who are you? And why are you hear?"

==Dukat==

Dukat keeps munching as he talks, "my name is Dukat," he speaks through the translator (I forgot to re-iterate that earlier...), "I am an ally of Kira's and I came here to help you with the battle. If you are my ally, then you will accept some of my food and eat with me." He again offer a choice cut of gargoyle. "I killed two of them and even though I can eat a lot, there is more than enough to share. Raw meat is best fresh, it would be a shame to let the bodies cool."

Throughout the conversation his wounds quickly heal.

Asv. looks the creature up and down Kira certainly picked strange allies... He slings one of the blades through a loop in his long coat and takes the offered meat cautiously. "I think you have solved our battle..." he says looking over the dismembered gargoyles. He pulls off his hood, exposing a clean shaven head and pale skin, strange scars cover almost every inch of his head and as he pulls the mask down, they cover almost his entire face; some look like they were caused by flames but others look like they were carved into his skin and look like symbols. He looks like a walking corpse with his dead white eyes, but the weight behind his gaze says otherwise. He bites into the gargoyle flesh with a blackened mouth.
(ooc= drew a pic of Asv. Probably not the best description of him lol. Wish I could post it up here :P )

Dukat laughs out loud and chunks of gargoyle flesh fly from his teeth, "solved your battle?" The translator changes his words over to Asv's preferred dialect, "why, that was barely a warm up. An advance scout force, most likely. The war hasn't even really started yet. Before we are done, you and I will feast on the bones of creatures more noble and powerful than these! This will barely wet our appetites!"

OOC: I think we're ready to move on?

Father Damian and Fatima walk out from behind one of the massive machines, leading the Gurgoyle that took the first rounds from Fal's weapons. Fatima shoves the creature forward to stand midst the group. "I figured we could interrogate this thing for information."

"I would be happy to eat it." He continues stripping off pieces of the gargoyle he killed and munching them down, making disgusting sounds as he does so. "Do you want to help me, dark thing?" He hands more gargoyle meat to Asv.

Infaeri rolls her eyes in disgust at Dukat and his noisy, slurpy eating. "Perhaps we should question him first."

Asv. takes the offered flesh and approaches the gargoyle. "Why are you here? And who sent you?" He holds the dripping meat up a little and cocks his head to the side. "It would be wise to answer, I have no qualms with letting my new friend finish you off..."

The Gurgoyle sits down and looks everyone over. He finally settles on Asvaldr. "I will tell you what little I know, in exchange that I speak to your Mistress. Nothing less will get me to talk."

Dukat stops gorging himself on the gargoyle. "The meat is getting cold. If the little one won't talk, can I eat him? Live prey always tastes best. I bet I can finish him in three bites!" Dukat stops to think a bit, "but those fingers do look tasty. Can I just have one for dessert?" Dukat grabs the gurgoyle by the arm and hoists him in to the air, eying the comparatively small hand.

Infaeri groans. "No, you can't eat, nibble or chomp on him. Just agree to let him meet "your mistress"," she does air quotes around your mistress, "so that we can get this over with."

Asv. shakes his head "Let us hear what he has to say."
Infaeri

"Just agree to let him meet "your mistress"

He keeps his eyes on the gargoyle "In case you have forgotten, you now belong to her as well." he says to Infaeri. "If you know of my mistress, then you also know that she does not take audience with just anyone... or thing." He says addressing the gargoyle. "She is most likely already aware of your prescience here. Tell me what you know and I will see about getting an audience with my Mistress."

Infaeri ignores Asv and decides to try to contact Hel, leaving it up to her. She looks the gurgoyle over and says, "You may wish you had not made this request if she agrees." With that she turns and leaves the room.

Moving into the next room Infaeri paces for a minute unsure of what to do or say to get in contact with Hel. Finallys he stops and decides to just try speaking into the air. "If you're there Hel, we are interrogating a prisoner that says he wishes an audience with you before he will divulge information. While I am happy to torture it out of him, I thought you might want the choice." She waits expectantly, hoping that Hel will respond.

Infaeri:
At first there is no indication that your 'plea' has been heard. Then slowly the temperature in the room drops to near freezing and a dark shadowy portal opens less than a meter away. Hel steps out of the portal, knocking Infaeri over as she plants both feet on the ground. "What is it whelp? I have little time for interruptions and less time for mortals."
When Infaeri tells her about the Gurgoyle and his 'demand', Hel walks into the next room. Father Damian and Fatima quickly back away, making the sign of the cross as they do. Hel ignores both of them, her eyes intent on the diminutive creature. To everyone except Dukat and Asvaldr, the following conversation happens in a language that is a combination of guttural snarls and barks. To Dukat and Asvaldr, the conversation happens in Demongogian.

(Hel): What do you want Gurgoyle?
(Gurgoyle): *Prostrates himself before the Goddess* Mistress of the Underworld, keeper of souls. I wish to leave the service of Hades and take up residence in your Realm. I have had my fill of the politicking and backstabbing that permeates Hades. I know that certain of my kind and other Demons have sworn fealty to you, I wish to do the same.
(Hel): I take only those who can serve some purpose. You have been bested by mortals, taken captive, and offered information in exchange for a favor. Why should I take you into my realm? Demons have been looking to get a foothold in the roots of Yggdrasil for eons, such a little spy such as yourself could be their foothold they desire.
(Gurgoyle): I offer you anything! I will give you the three True Names I have, plus the True Name of a Gargoyle Mage that I found out by happenstance. To prove my worth I give you the name of the Mage freely!
(Hel) *Appears to think over the deal* You will give me the Name of the Mage, and all of yours. Not only to me, but to my two servants in the room as well. You will serve them until you have proven your worth. Until such a time you will be bound to this Dimension. You will be bound to a Phylactery in two parts. One to each of my servants. Should they be separated, then you will go to the nearest one. Otherwise your spirit will go to Asvaldr, my oldest servant. If you agree to these terms, then you are mine. Otherwise be off with you.
(Gurgoyle): Yes Mistress!

(Note: Asvaldr and Infaeri: You are given the three True Names of the Gurgoyle, this will allow you to summon him from anywhere on the planet, or even from another dimension, just by saying all three names in the proper order. Xrax Icen Vreetox)

The following is in English for everyone else to hear and understand.

"The Minion War is gearing up. Dimensions that have never before felt the touch of Demon or Deevil is going to be invaded. Both sides are trying to find dimensions where they can get a foothold and an advantage over the other side. This dimension is a Crux, a potential crossroads, one of three that both sides will fight to the eternal death over."

==Dukat==

Dukat listens intently to the conversation, not wishing to provoke a fight with this 'Hel" at this time. He thinks it better to not offer her any food -old dragonmage proverb: "food is for friends, family, and bribes"- and hel looked neither like family or a friend, and was not in need of a bribe. Dukat wonders to himself exactly how she measure up to the celestial being he has encountered and is in the service of.

So many of us in service to greater beings, there must be more on the line here than just a dimension or two...

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN! I bet no other dragonmage has EVER done THIS!

When it is safe Dukat continues eating the Grgoyle. Too bad he's on our side now, those little ones are tasty. I'll be sure to eat him if he dies.

Editors note: There is another old dragonmage proverb: "family, friends, and bribes are food."

Infaeri:
With hesitation and reluctance the Gurgoyle (which to be honest I had thought were the small 1 meter tall winged creatures, I found I was mistaken. The Gurgoyle is in fact about 2.5 meters tall, without wings) walks over to Infaeri and kneels, all the while rambling on about the invasion and the Minion War.

Dukat:
Before Hel departs she turns her face to Dukat. "Your master once served me faithfully. Then he stole something that belonged to me, I want it back. Tell him that I expect it to be returned soon." A shadowy portal opens up, dropping the temperature in the foundry thirty degrees. Hel steps through as the first screams of tormented souls passes the dimensional fabric, and closes.

Dukat knows there are several odd things about what Hel said, but he doesn't think about it too hard. He can enumerate them, but there are ore pressing matter at hand, like what to do with the rest of the gargoyle meat, and contacting this being. Oh, and checking on the pyramids (if it is not necessary to go back then Dukat will check from a distance).

Dukat meditates in order to try and contact his being and deliver the message.

Infaeri smiles sadistically. So this works. This will come in handy. "You have seen our mistress and are now in her service. It's your turn. Tell us what you know."

22 hangs close to the exchange out of sheer curiosity. As Hel appears, natural instinct made his quills prickle. Deals were struck, even without an understanding of the language being used, 22 understood that much. A small flash of insite allowed 22 to realize just how many here owed their power to another being, including him. He owed his original power to his master...late master. This new power, even if it was chance, he owed to Fal.

Thinking about Fal he realized that it was Fal who owed nothing to anyone. A few small favors here and there yes, but his core being and powers were his own and gained through no one else.

With a new found admiration for Fal, 22 went back to work, silently as always.

Asv. Didn't need to hear Hel approach, over the centuries he could feel the change in the atmosphere when she was present. He doesn't turn around to face her but drops to one knee and bows his head as she speaks to the creature. His blades and life ready to protect her if need be. He listen carefully, putting the creatures name to memory. He thanks her for her gift and waits for any other commands, when none are given he rises and waits for the gargoyles response.

The Gurgoyle:
"The Minion War is a battle that has been brewing between Hades and Dyval for millennium. Finally a couple years ago, Modeus orchestrated a massive attack upon Dyval. Needless to say, the attack went off quite well. Not as well as planned but well enough to be considered a victory. I was there, the blood that was spilled was glorious." He pulls out a string of eyes, teeth and fingers. "Deevil parts. Killed a full legion by myself. Now, of course Dyval launched a counter-attack. And now both sides are looking for some secondary or even tertiary stronghold from which we or they can launch more and more larger armies. As I said, this particular dimension is a crux, a crossroads of dimensions. Which as I am sure that the freak over there..-" He points to Dukat. "-can tell you, means that for those who can open portals can open large portals to any dimension they know of, and keep them open for hours at a time. I don't know exactly how the Lords of Hades plan on making this dimension into the potential magical powerhouse that it can become. That was not part of my mission here. My mission was to make sure that those who can keep those who are on that mission from succeeding."

Dukat raises an eyebrow at the speech, or, rather, the part of his forehead that would have eyebrows if he indeed had any. He doesn't care about being called a freak in he least, there is only one thing he is curious about. "You claim to have killed a full legion of these deevils by yourself. If they are truly that weak, then what threat can they pose to us? If they are not that weak then what trick did you use? You don't seem so impressive yourself, to surrender to us so easily."

Dukat enters his meditations and moments later is filled with the peace and tranquility of his Master. "Welcome young one. What questions do you have?"

Dukat relaxes, though usually jovial in nature, he is rarely relaxed. This, at least, is one place where he knows he is either safe, or so overpowered there is no use resisting. "Events have transpired and I do have questions, but first I was told to give you a message. Several of our... darker allies are bonded to a being named 'Hel'. she says you once worked for her and stole something, and she told me to pass on the message that she wants it returned soon."

Dukat can feel amusement and a sense of sorrow at the same time. "That is too bad. I would very much like to return the Artifact I stole when I was different than I am now. Alas, I fear that upon first use of the Artifact, that it broke and there are none who can repair it."

"If I am to interact with this creature, it may be in all of our best interests if I were to understand your history with her." Dukat probes.

"There may be time for such a tale at a later date. Know for now however, that I have not always been the Being that you know now. I was once a very different, and very evil creature who served those who served my most basest of desires."

Dukat thinks for a moment, "there is another, like me but unlike me. He may be one of the most evil creatures I have yet to meet, and he has the same stones that bond you to me. Do you know him? He is called Kira."

The sense of sadness deepens. "I do indeed know of him. He is bound to another like myself. This other, he also once served Hel in the same manner I did. He has not changed, if anything in the intervening years has become more depraved, more selfish, more evil then any other Being."

"I am sorry to sadden you, it brings me no pleasure. I must ask, what was this artifact? If it is broken, can't we at least return the fragments to Hel?"

"Nay young one. The breaking was such that the pieces themselves held such power that when it broke, scattered into the dimensional vortex that it had created. A hundred pieces, scattered across unknown hundred dimensions."

"Would you like me to inform Hel's servants of this? I doubt she will be pleased by the news, and she does not come across as one who reacts gracciously to bad news."

"You may do as your conscience deems you must do. I will one day travel to attempt to make amends with Hel, given her temperament, I suspect that I will be imprisoned for my crimes, but such a thing is beyond my power to control."

"So she is more powerful than you are? If possible, I would seek the power to assist you in any way I can."

"A Goddess is much more powerful than I, yes. An Intelligence I am not. I am simply a powerful Servant of Life. Provided that your search is one of purity and non-violence, I will gladly take what power you offer me. Differing Magics are always welcome, and whatever you find, I will gladly share with you as well."

"The last thing I am wondering is, what did the artifact do? Is it the reason you changed?"

"It is the reason I changed yes. I had little idea as to what it did prior to my using it. All I knew before I stole it and used it, was that it was something that Hel's unwilling consort Baldur had possessed at one point, and Hel kept it locked away. The temptation to steal it and use it were too much for me in my previous state."

Dukat thinks for a moment, "I should inform you about dragonmages. Eventually we need to grow, and a dragon needs to die in order for us to accomplish this. I would not kill an innocent or good dragon for this purpose because I know that would displease you, but would it be acceptable if I ever battled an evil dragon to use him to this end? Stopping his evil and turning his power to good purposes? I would not provoke a dragon for this, but my kind are hunted and hated by dragons throughout the megaverse, and were I to encounter one it would almost without a doubt attack me."

"This would be most pleasing to me. And I was well aware of your species when I made our bargain. I will search for a suitable Dragon for you to finalize your transformation into a full Dragon-Mage when the time arrives."

"Thank you, that has been weighing on me for some time. If there is nothing else that you need or think I should know, then I will return to Earth. I think the war is about to start. Please inform me as soon as you have found an appropriate subject for the transformation, the power will without a doubt be very valuable to the both of us."
"Be well young one."

The Gurgoyle looks at Dukat. "In magic weak dimensions, all demons and deevils are much weaker than in magic rich dimensions. So, when I was in Dyval doing battle with Deevils and Gorgons, I had much more power to work with, than I do here. Here, I feel as weak as a hatchling. That and I had access to a polearm that was significantly more powerful than the one they gave me coming here. With a proper weapon in my hands, I can hold my own against a horde of enemies."
