Dukat: As you are standing there, looking over the group of armed police officers, all of whom are pointing weapons at you, there is an errant breeze and some files fly through the air. When the air clears of papers, you swear that there were at least two other officers in the room with you. Kira: As you proceed through the Pyramid towards the main room where Gregory tends to be you step on something crunchy, but the thoughts of finding out what the ring is consume your thoughts. As you get into the main room, another Stone Master, Jeremy, you think his name is, is standing there asking about sand storms in the St. Louis area, and by area he means the whole damned county. |

==Dukat== Dukat reactivates all his sensitive psionics, see aura, sense evil, and presence sense in order to try and figure out what is going on. "I don't mean to alarm you," he addresses the officers, "but I think we are not alone and you are in danger. Stay alert, I think two of you may be missing." ==Kira== "Gregory," he interjects, not caring what they were discussing earlier, "I need to go to Palladium in order to investigate this relic. Please open a portal for me." |

Dukat: Both presence sense and sense evil register that there is something in the room, several somethings, but neither can pinpoint their location. (and I am aware of your natural See Invisible) The sunlight streaming into the room through various holes in the walls and roof dapple the room in a multitude of small shadows. Your warning seems to disturb a couple of the officers, who begin to back away looking around wildly. Kira: Gregory holds his hand up for you to wait a moment as he walks over to a wall where a large screen TV is. He turns it on to the Weather Channel. A weather man is talking about a sandstorm that has whipped up in Arizona and has been spreading across the mid-west for the last 18 hours at a speed of 128 kph (80 mph). The storm is now covering all of Arizona, New Mexico, northern Texas, Oklahoma, eastern Kansas and now Missouri. The TV cuts to a shot of the storm from several hundred feet up, showing a reporter in a helicopter. "Stan, as you can see, the storm is over a mile high, nearly twenty-three hundred miles long and seven hundred miles wide. It started in what was once Pheonix, and spread out from there. My cameraman just pointed out to me that there seem to be 'things' swirling about in the dust and sand..." The camera pans in to reveal several humanoid shapes in the dust. Djinn. Gregory speaks up. "It would take literally thousands of Djinn to create a storm that size. The couple of dozen that are in that storm would barely be able to cover St. Louis." Gregory stops speaking as the shot pans back out and a massive body forms out of dust, sand and debris. His only words, "It can't be." Even in Kira's 5,000 years of life, the Legend of an Efreet is always been that, a Legend. In fact, it has been so long since Kira has even read about the legend, he can't seem to remember what the Legend said. |

==Dukat== "You are not safe here, where can you go that I can better defend you?" Detect ambush (60): 1d100=100 = most epic of fails. Another attempt at perception: 1d20=8 = FML ==Kira== In a flat unimpressed tone Kira turns to Gregory and says, "That's a bunch of djinn and an efreet. I take it you need my help dealing with this and my vacation plans are ruined?" I have the ring of a warlock who had enslaved hundreds of elementals, and now there are a dozen djinn nearby. I wonder if this ring may come in handy... Time to capture me some djinn, they may just come in handy. "Can we use the pyramid's power to calm the storm or capture some of these djinn?" |

Dukat: One of the retreating officers steps into a patch of sunlight, he tries to scream as he is pulled into the sunlight, but the action is so quick that he barely gets out a squeak before he is gone. The initial officer who pulled a firearm on Dukat steps into a shadow and shove/points his pistol at Dukat. "WHAT DID YOU DO?" Kira: Gregory turns to Kira. "You speak of an Efreet as though they are common place where you are from. For all of my dimensional traveling and study I have only come across one account where someone saw an Efreet, and that was in a diary of a Rakshasha, and it was an experience he had no intention of repeating. So yes, your 'vacation' is postponed until this is dealt with. I can raise an energy field to ward off the majority of the magic they are using, but only for a few blocks at best. The bigger the barrier, the quicker they will be able to tear it down. As for calming the storm? I can try. If you are going out there, do it before I raise the shield, you won't be able to leave once the shield is up." |

==Dukat== "While I would enjoy regaling you with tales of my many adventures," he replies to the inquisitive police officer, "we have bigger problems. I suggest avoiding the light until I take care of whatever this is." Dukat prepares for combat and steps in to the same place the officer was just taken from. ==Kira== "Efreets aren't all together common and, in fact, I have no idea what to do about him. Djinn, however, are much more interesting and potentially useful. If we can beat them or capture them, we can control them. I need a way of containing them here, to lock them in the cells. See if you can devise one, I need to contact the Kitty Hawk." Kira attempts to open a channel for communicating with the Kitty Hawk but has trouble establishing a connection. Frustrated he promptly heads down to the prisoner/refugee. "Time to get up. You want a chance to prove yourself to us." He patches the video of the attack down to the cell. "I need to know everything you can tell me about that Efreet. And if we are to work together it would also be good to know your name." Edited by Beowulf, Apr 16 2014, 09:56 AM.

Dukat: The officers get out of your way as you make your way to the patch of sunlight. All you feel beneath your feet is concrete. (Perception roll) Kira: The man rises and watches the footage for a moment. "There are only a handful of Efreet, I only know of them, I've never actually met one. As for proper tactics to fight it? Not a clue. I was trained and educated in combating the beings I would encounter here, not how to beat our own troops. Succor-Behmoth called me Requiem." |

Dukat: For a brief moment you catch a glimpse of a 3m (12') tall, golden furred creature standing in the dappled sunlight before it vanishes again with an officer in each hand. A spurt of crimson blood splashes across the floor. (Lore: Demons & Monsters) Kira: Requiem gets up with sinuous grace. Several of the runic tattoo's flare as he approaches the cell door. The force shield melts away and he stands at your side. "Let us begin the assault." |

==Dukat== Lore Demons and Monsters (70): 1d100=29 = Very pass. ==Kira== Kira smirks and hands Requiem a communication device so they can keep in touch if (presumably when) they get separated. "I need to contact a ship called the Kitty Hawk and let them know what is happening here. It is possible the attack you warned me of and the demons in the sandstorm are related and opposed to each other. If we were to get the two to cross paths it might be both convenient and... entertaining. There is interference from this storm though and I can't reach them, so let's see how much fun we can have on the way." Kira programs his ship to avoid combat but stay as near to him as possible and sets out in to the storm toward the last known position of the Kitty Hawk. |

Dukat: The behavior and the abilities that this creature has been seen using thus far are very similar to the Shadow Beast, but this creature seems to use the sunlight in the same way. This is something new. Kira: Once you are outside of the pyramid, Requiem transforms into a large wolf and chases after a pair of Djinn as they whip through the streets. The shuttle has a difficult time maintaining altitude and bearing as the storm is wreaking havoc on the instrumentation. (Pilot skill roll @ -20%) |

==Dukat== A Light Beast? Damn, this is interesting. "A powerful creature like you..." Dukat starts smashing light sources as he seeks a main power source for the building, "picking on squishies like these?" He turns off light switches as he searches, hoping to goad the creature away from the officers. "I mean, I've heard that the stupidity of your kind is legendary, but are you really cowards as well, or is it just you?" He closes blinds and windows as he motions for any humans to hide in closets and shadows, hoping they obey without question instead of just standing there stupidly. ==Kira== Pilot APC (70% with penalty included): 1d100=42 = Pass Kira pilots the craft above the storm if possible before ejecting to fly free himself. He becomes astral in order to travel as far and fast as possible. The sooner he can get word to the Kitty Hawk the better. |
