ALL NEW PEOPLE: Read. These. Rules. We did not write them for fun. The following will tell you exactly how to set up and create your character. In this writer’s opinion, CUBEfreak’s – he was the original creator of the FEABL, but left without notice for some reason – rendition of the rules could be confusing. This will be simpler. Remember – knowledge of the Fire Emblem system and classes and such will make it a lot easier to make a character. It is recommended you use Notepad or Wordpad or something to keep track of your person’s stats. M'kay, you're going to need to create a topic for your character. Make this topic in the Unapproved Profiles forum. For topic title, input your character's name. For the description, make up a witty byline. For the statistic data, copy the sheet in the Blank Template. Paste this in your topic, and get ready to fill in the blanks. First, you must pick a name, which should be done as it's your topic title. Put it in again on this line, just for redundancy's sake. NOTE: M'kay, we all know you love *insert fantasy book/video game/movie here*. Now, I'm sure you'd just love to name your character after a main character in *book/video game/movie*. Sure, Rand Al'Thor kicks ass, but he isn't an FEABL char. It would be very looked down upon to include him as one of your characters. Especially if you gave him the same/similar appearance/backstory as he has in the Wheel of Time. Minor characters aren't such a big a deal, as they're more an allusion/triubute to your fav game/series then a ripoff. For example, it'd be okay to have a character named Bossk, but not Luke Skywalker. If you know who Bossk is, you pwn. Next, you need what class you want your character to be. You can choose out of… Mercenary Myrmidon Mage Knight Pegasus Knight Wyvern Rider Nomad Monk Shaman Thief Gypsy Pirate/Corsair Cavalier Fighter Brigand Vestal Archer Soldier Gladiator Hunter Squire The Gypsy promotes to the Valkyrie/Mystic Knight (if you want that instead). The Vestal is female only, and promotes to the Bishop/Templar (again, if you want it instead). Those classes were created because healers are not allowed in the FEABL. Gladiator, Hunter and Squire are common versions of the FE7 Lords (Hector, Lyn and Eliwood). Pick your class depending on how you want your character to fight. If you want a fast physical weapon user, pick the Myrmidon or Mercenary. If you want a slower, slightly stronger magic user, pick the Shaman. Think about how you want your character to fight before and while you are making them. And in case this isn't obvious (glares at Dragon's Pride), no Bards/Dancers. Or any other special class such as Mamkutes or the like, for that matter. Next, you need a gender. This shouldn't be too hard, as you've only got two choices. You have to select one or the other, and if you don't know the choices you get shot in the head. Now, you'll be needing affinity. This isn't much of an issue; pick between Fire, Light, Dark, Wind, Ice, Thunder, and Anima. They don't effect much, but later on your support bonuses depend on what affinity you and your support partner have. I won't go into detail on that, as it's kind of an advanced option; picking a random affinity works out pretty well. Next comes level. This is easy; you start at Level 1. Unless you're making a prepromo, but chances are, you're not, and can't until you have three fairly high level chracters, so don't worry about prepromos. Just put 1. Now is some optional data; Age, Appearance, and Battle Record. Age isn't too important. Appeareance is important if you want a sprite or portrait; just put a brief description of your character's physical appearance. Backstory is, well, backstory. Where your char hails from and such. Battle record is how many wins and losses your character has. It starts at 0-0, but if you don't feel like keeping track, you can just leave it blank. Next is stats, the part where we have the most difficulties. Go to the Base Stats topic in the References section. Find your class and copy the starting stats. To those stats, you add 16 points however you want- You can add 8 points to HP and one each to STR, SKL, SPD, DEF, and RES, you can add 8 points to STR and 8 points to DEF, you can even add all 16 points to one stat. Distribution is completely up to you. If you want someone strong and fast, add points to Strength or Magic and Speed. If you want them to be more defensive, add more points to HP, Defense and Resistance. Note that you CAN add points to Con(stitution). Just remember that it will not go up otherwise besides promotion and Body Rings. Now that you have that, you add your growths. Every time you level up, a random number is picked to determine whether you get an extra point in that stat or not. The chance of getting the stat is equal to your percent growth. The growths of all stats – HP, Str/Mag, Skl, Spd, Lck, Def, and Res – must EQUAL 300. Not one more, not one less. Each growth must be divisible by five – that means 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc, to make it simple for you. This is as important in making a good fighter as arranging your starting stats correctly. Now, whatever class you picked, you get the lowest level weapon of whatever type of weapon you can use added to your inventory. This means the Mercenary gets a free Iron Sword, the Cavalier gets a free Iron Sword OR a free Iron Lance, and the Monk gets a free Lightning. You also get 1000 gold. You have 0 weapon experience and start at E level. It'll ask your level again. It's still level 1. You start with 0 EXP, as well. Now, if you've done it right, your profile should look just like Timmy's. (Not anymore, cause we added in quite a few tweaks to the character creation since his creation, so Timmy's outdated). After that, post your topic and wait until a friendly staff member comes by and looks over your profile. If there's a problem, we'll point it out for you.
