What would you call a promoted Solider? These are the caps I had in mind for the Solider's promoted class... HP 60 Str 26 Ski 28 Spd 25 Def 26 Res 24 Luck 30 +15% to critical Feel free to critique them as well. And keep in mind this may or may not actually happen. Most likely not, but we can dream... |

I'd think of giving the the Soldier promotion high defense and RES, since there's already a dodgy critter, a power critter, and a balanced critter. |

Maybe shave a point off Strength and Speed, and throw them on DEF and RES? Wouldn't want to nerf the Skill cap of a Criticaler. ...criticaler? *snickers* |

I think the skill cap should be higher. Lancers generally have high skill, but the other critters have skill caps over 28. |

Soldiers are inferior to Knights, so it'd be pointless to promote them to Generals. The whole point of adding Soldiers, IMO, is to get a unit with 15% crit boosts for all the physical weapons. |

Yeah, def/resistance would be great. Soldiers would be a crit tank, but won't be overpowered cause of below average skill/speed. And they should be called Phalanx. |

Doesn't actually exist in FE... to my knowledge, anyways. Dragoons are well known from Final Fantasy, they're basically foot-knights armed with spears that can jump ridiculously high for... some reason. Probably infused with blood of a dragon, or something. See Kain from FF4, Freya from FF9, or a random character with the Dragoon class from FFT for the best examples. |

Lance knights were in FE4. Cavaliers who only can use lances. Phalanx is best, it suggests an elite infantryman, and the point of soldiers is a foot lancer. |

Mercenaries jump, quite high for the criticals (as do Heros). Nomadic Troopers with swords too. Hector jumps for all his attacks except non-critical Armads. And don't forget the Fighter's nifty zero-gravity chop to the head. So don't tell me FE characters can't jump! *shakes fist* *pictures Dragoon attack animations* |

Phalanx would not be a good name, because it is an attack formation where a group of soldiers etc. hold out their spears in a wall to fend off calvary, as they are afraid of it for some reason (that prety much all came out of an empire earth manual.) They could promote to captain or dragoon, which is a mounted gun person (again EE manual) |

Note: Computer game manuals aren't very historic. And yeah, infantry were scared of calvary 'cause men on a horse are about twice the height of a man on foot, the foot soldiers could get trampled, and calvary were usually armed with lances. So the phalanx was a formation that effectively defeated cavalry because the horses would not run into a row of spears. Phalanx is also the name for the infantrymen in the formation. |

In 2 games I have played, Dragoons were guys with guns on horses. The only dragoons I've heard of that wield spears are the ones from FFT A. Phalanxes, on the other hand, were always infantry armed with spears. Which sounds more like what a FE Soldier would promote into: the guy with a gun on a horse, or the spear-wielding infantry? |

That's how it is in ALL FFs. With dragoons. Why not go with FF's class names? I mean, we DO call dark magic users shamans/druids, however wrong that is. |

Druid would be a better name for a Mage than the promotion of a Shaman, IMO. In all other fantasy stuff, Druids wield nature's magic, not dark magic. Nintendo got their magic-wielders confoosled there. |

Druid are celtic priests, IIRC. And they worshipped nature. Shamans are nature-praising priests in various tribal societies, too. While mages/sages could go with any magic. 'Cept for mages with light magic, which goes to priests. |

Yeah, Druids are usually foresty nature people. Sorceror or something would be better for dark magic. But why follow FFT? FEABL =/= FFT, and I think Phalanx is a cooler name. |

That's not how I was picturing it at all. XD But to do it the way I was thinking, you'd probably have to make it from scratch, which I doubt is going to happen. I think he should have an open-faced, more dragon-shaped helmet, and a smaller shield. I like the spear though. I'd like to see a dark green recolor, too. |
