Okay. So I remember talking to people about this game before I played, and they were like, never let your characters die. So I started playing like last week, and I finally beat Chapter 10, and finished Lyn's story. However, when fighting that old creepy "imma-kill-you-and-your-grampa" guy, Kent died. :(

So, It told me that I was going to start Eliwood's story, and then it said, don't let anyone die, or you'll never be able to use them again. Is this going to hold true for Kent? Or will he be revived because I'm starting a new story. Or will I just never see him again.

Anyways, I saved in a different save slot because it scared me.

Everyone who gets to 0 HP in Lyn's story comes back on Eliwood's. If they hit 0 on Eliwood's, they're dead, pretty much.

HELLO EVERYBODY

Getting killed in Lyn's story won't actually keep them dead in Eliwood's story, iirc.

Feeling spritely.

Don't worry, Kent's gonna come back in Eliwood's story. But if he dies after you start Eli's story, he's actually dead this time and won't come back. You can restart a chapter if someone dies, too.

Oh, well that's a relief.

Another question. In chapter 9, or something, the tutorial thing teaches you about have to change classes, and become stronger (it demonstrates with Wallace)

Is this a promotion? Because I thought those happened at level 20..
Anywho, I'm loving this game. I got it at EB for $11. I also picked up MMBN:5, which I'll play after I beat FE.

I'm so set for the next couple of weeks <3

You can promote any time after level 10, if you're unpromoted and have the right item. Of course, waiting until level 20 is better if you want the best possible stats for your chararacters.

Don't worry guys, I got a good price for selling you out

You can promote when you reach level 10, but promoting at lvl 20 is recommended so your characters end up the best they can be.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the MMBN's. I own.. the 3rd one, White version. Where you had to battle through the tournament which was rigged. I kinda liked that one.
I hope I'm not disappointed with this one!

Generally, you should hold off promotion until level 20, but if your characters are still unpromoted around... chapter 23-ish, you might want to consider promoting earlier.

Do not click. Do, however, click these at your leisure ('specially for stats): Gero, Terra, Tic, Nys'elni and Murphy.

How many Chapters are there?
And is it just Lyn's story, then Eliwood's story?

Hector has a story too, it's basically Eli's story with different enemies and new chapters. And two new units.

They are bad. I hate them, at least. They get extremely tedious later on.

Eliwood's story goes from chapters 11 to 30, with an unnumbered final chapter and around 7 ##x chapters, the optional Gaiden ones like 7x in Lyn's story.

Hector's is the same, but with one more Gaiden and from 11 to 32.
