This is in OOC since there are no rewards and I did all the battling myself. This was frankly an exercise to make sure that the Tournamentininator worked, but I figured I'd post the results, since the winner was...surprising. I mean, it's not anyone I predicted in the beginning... So. Give every retired character in the FEABL a E-rank (or D in the case of Flux) weapon of their S-rank/basic type, and see who wins. The first round was a set of 17 four-person round-robin tournaments, choosen from the incredibly complicated method of putting everyone into 4 coulumns and making everyone in the same row fight each other. The winner of every round-robin advanced to the next round. Tiebreakers were resolved by a head-to-head if 2 people are involved, and a mini-round-robin if more than 2 are involved. ![]() Survivors of the first culling: (Numbers indicate which group they were in for round two. Winners of tiebreakers are in bold.) 1 Edward/Johnathan 2 Phoebe 3 Amery 1 Elizabeth 2 Kellen 3 Sakura 1 Baazar 2 Seraphina 3 Frederick/Krys/Shade 1 Ca'el 2 Gannack 3 Chariel 1 Lexi 2 Christina 3 Mark 1 Melanie 2 Jessica Another round-robin with those three groups. Survivors of the 2nd culling: Elizabeth/Baazar Phoebe/Jessica Mark/Amery First-to-win-three-round-robins ensured, and Jessica won by a fair bit (Phoebe won one and Mark didn't win any. -.-) So. By this utterly stupid way to figure things out, Jessica, a Nomad Trooper, beats out a Sage and Swordmaster to claim the title of best-character in the FEABL. Analysis: - The top-tier LA classes, such as Generals and 'zerkers and Druids appear to have been eliminated early. This leads me to believe that their astonishing performance in the LA is based on very specific conditions instead of general dominatingness (or Luna, come to think of it.) Other, more maligned classes (Nomad troopers are mid-tier at best, SMs and Sages are almost unused) appear to perform better against a balanced field. - With basic weapons, certain classes become stronger. Mages of all sorts perform well, since the auto-DA given by using a magic tome becomes more apparent the more hits needed to KO the opponents, so weaker weapons favor mages. Well, all mages other than Druids. :p - Tournamentinator is awesome. Use it. [/shameless plug] |

Christina won in the first round, but Aligor didn't? I guess Christina went up against some lightweight and Al got a mage of some sort... |
