... uh-huh.

What a waste of BEXP. I used it on the characters that are actually good, like Jill, Nolan and Aran. I relied on vulneraries for healing, which worked out just fine since I didn't have to babysit a weak healer.

Eww, restricting people to 3-stat level ups.

Once they've capped a few naturally, sure, but otherwise combat exp is better. >_>

Laura was something like 18-19 after 1-8, so it's not like I poured all the BEXP into her then. Okay so I did it before 1-8 instead, but it paid off.

I didn't use BEXP on them exclusively, just when they needed boosting. Like on the last mission, I pushed them from 17/18 up til promotion. Combat exp would be nice, if it wasn't so scarce and hard to get compared to BEXP. I mean, <20exp per kill for an unpromoted character? And with enemies that are actually able to kill you? I am not amused.

Besides, Nolan had capped skill and speed by the time I was using BEXP on him. Aran had capped skill and def.

And it's annoying how much BEXP you need to use to level up characters in FE10.

Ooh, my head is spinning...

A few things

1. Laura is actually quite good if you bother using her, as she has very good Mag, Spd and Luck growths, decent growths everywhere else (although comparitively bad res to most magic users, but it's high enough to be higher than most physicals) and a decent affinity in Wind (+ Hit and Avoid :D). Her only problem is that it's a pain to train her (most people pump her to 99 Exp beforehand with Bexp). Well, that and her horrid Spd cap (Why are mages slower than ARMORS!?) D:

2. @ Kim: Bexp costs went up, so did the amount of Bexp you normally get per chapter (some chapters can net you over 20k Bexp easily)

3. Leo is meh. Sure his Prf is awesome, but his Str and Spd growths are lol, and Shinon, and even Rolf, are better because they don't need too much training (or none, in Shinon's case). Eddie's the same except he has a better Str/Spd growth and replace Rolf/Shinon with Zihark/Mia <_< >_>

Laura is quite good...?

I don't have averages handy because FEPlanet is being lame (grr), but I'm pretty sure she's not as good as Soren or Sanaki at killing stuff, and, well, Mist is the only dedicated healer who gets away with it without sucking.

Me: I was on Normal. But you got to the end of part 2 on Normal in mere days. I think I took a week. And I almost always lost at least three times before winning. Part of my problem is that I never really think ahead past the next enemy turn.

Okay, I'm done

1) She sucks mainly because she is unpromoted. Prepromotes are nearly all better then the unpromoted units in this game (apart from awesone ones like Nolan and Aran). Unpromoted characters like Laura and Eddie and Leo are just liabilities even in Part 1.

2) You don't get that much during the earlier chapters until, like, chapter 6 or so and by then I've had so many deaths due to Laura sucking so ****ing much that I dump her and use BEXP to level up people who don't suck balls.

3) Shinon is your ****ing God.

3.14) I like pi too.

Surprising, I know, but the RNG Goddess made love to Danved and shunned Nephenee that time.

Who was first?

HAAR

Nephenee, Boyd, Nolan, Shinon and Haar in that order.

Oddly enough, Nolan was 12 levels lower than Boyd (20/20/3 and ??/20/15 respectively), yet Nolan was the one I used in 4-E. Srsly, he was almost as good 12 levels lower. I thought "screw it, he'll raep Boyd at similar levels, I'll just give him Paragon to catch up".

He did. He ended up capping everything. :D

Shinon and Gatrie are godlike in this game. I sat them at the bridge slightly north of the starting point on 4-P and they annihiliated everything. Haar is also incredible, as is Nolan.

Also, I played the game for 16 hours last night. Being ill has its benefits.

To be fair, I like that the game goes back to what made FE awesome on the consoles: epic battles with thousands and thousands of enemies (on the GBA it was better to have the smaller, more managable battles that you could complete in little time). That said, that ****ing battle where you're with the DB and you have to kill 40 of the enemy (3-11 I think) was awful.

The other DB "kill x amount of enemies" was fun, though.

Geoffrey's Charge?

Ew. Haet that mission.

If it's not Marcia, it's Devdan Danved. If it's not Danved, it's Astrid. If it's not Astrid, it's friggin' KIERAN.

How I managed that without anyone dying was beyond me.

I got Geoffrey right up to be boss, then three archers with iron longbows attacked him from above and killed him. I swore very loudly.

That part is only annoying because all the Crimean Knights suck aside from Geoffrey and Kieran. If you had some half decent units it would be piss easy.

To be fair, the enemies really suck too.

Also, I still say that chapter is "fe10 -- we think we're cool enough to be like fe4 now!".

Tookie be right, it's 3-12, though I actually found that one spectacularly easy. >_>

That's me finished now. Final boss was a utter ***** since I forgot the fortify staff and only had two Nihil skills, though once I left the dragons behind it became much easier.

Credits are rolling right now. The ending seemed...for a lack of a better term, a bit anti-climatic. Maybe it's because FE9's took so long but it feels really short. Is there anything after the credits?

There's a small coda, IIRC.

And yeah, the ending was...Disappointingly short. Not enough was done to give you the feel of "here's what happens in the years to come" (Like the GBA FEs), or a feeling of total completion (Like FE9)

So yeah, bad ending, great game. >_>

Just saw it. Now it's counting my kills for each unit.

5th: Gatrie (80 something)
4th: Tibarn (88)
3rd: Shinon (88)
2nd: Haar (107)
1st: Ike (159)

The final reveal on the ultimate badguy was a little underwhelming too. Maybe it's because I already knew, but still it wasn't done very well.

Also: how do I get it to take data from FE9?

Nevermind, I got it. Apparently I can't do it with my clear file, but I guess I'll live.

*revives kitten*

I'm on 4-2. I'm currently loathing part 4 as a whole. I pray this rectifies itself quickly.

And because it's so close, I figured I should plan my Endgame characters and weapons:

Ike- Ragnell (durr)
Mick Jagger- Val/Rexaura
Sothe- Baselard (no **** u i want to use heather)
Sanaki- Cymbeline
Ena (lol)
Kurth (lol)

Caineghis
Tibarn
Naesala/Nailah (leaning Naesala for variety, I used Nailah last time)
Nolan- Tarvos (Being very similar to ??/15 Boyd at 20/5 = no **** u boyd im using nolan)
Haar- Urvan
Shinon/Leonardo- Double Bow (My Leo is actually good enough to warrant considering, I'll have to see how he stacks up after 4-3 and some BEXP)
Mia- Vague Katti
Soren/Callil- Rexcalibur/Rexflame
Laura- Fortify

Initial Nihils will go to Ike, Cainey and Tibbles. Nasir's will go to the other Laguz Royal.

:D?

Uhh, IMO, at least Nolan is better than the bolded two I selected for the final chapter (At least if IIRC, if Mounted movement retains its suckiness within the final chapter, but even then, Mist is redundant, because you'll already have Mics as a designated healer, or at least you should, because she'll have problems even surviving on the front lines, and Physics are aplenty by then. And for mobile healer, you have Elincia, but she can also kill stuff) <_>

Oscar had A supported with Mia and was one of my best characters too. Nolan supported with Aran so if I couldn't bring both I decided there was no point in bringing both. And Mist was pretty damn good in my game and my time in the game proved I needed as many healers as I could get when Hetzel silenced my entire group other than Mist/the final chapter and its uber cheap hit everyone for lots of damage.

Also, I had no idea I'd get the Wishblade in the final chapters (or Alondite for that matter, if I'd known I'd have brought another sword wielder). I had no idea about anything in this game, which lead to problems in that same chapter since I only had two Nihils, but I managed, so it doesn't matter at all really.

Okay.

Meh, I never really had problems with critraep in the other FEs.

Stupidly charging in, however... Yeah, SRT taught me how to be a lot more conservative.

I know it's a bit late, but idk-with Focus and battlesaves, I typically play OGS more recklessly than I play FE...

Don't want to stat? Web statuator, effort-free version. Still in testing.

CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD YE GUILTY

I just spent about 16 hours, I'm up to the lighting of stuff on fire.

Seriously, are the enemy hit stats on steroids? They're all significantly higher than 6/7/8/9.

And for some reason, my third dodgiest character after Mia and Shinon is Gatrie. >_>

Also, enemy Generals are dodging a lot. More than any other unit except swordmasters. >_>

Also, Haar is flippin' awesome. Really damn awesome. He's pwning every SINGLE DAMN THING except thunder mages.

Finally, I think my Neph is str screwed. 17 at level 9 Halberdier?

Enemy stats now actually match thier level fairly well.

Meaning, quite simply, enemies are the strongest they've been since FE5, and bosses will devour your soul if you attempt to hit them with weaker characters.

Did ANYONE train up Meg? :WHOAMG: It could just be me... :WHOAMG: She turned out to be pretty good, especially with the hilarious support with Zihark. It helped a lot that skills are now switchable, THANK YOU IS! :) *Abuses Paragon*

As for endgame units, my best were Gatrie, Brom, Zihark, Aran(1st) and Ike. Surprisingly, Tanith and Sigrun turned out to be extremely useful! Pegasi are some of least favorite units because of the low str/hp/def growths but I was RNG blessed capping 3-4 stats each. Zihark was also my best Character in POR because of adept+wrath+brave sword but now that skills are switchable, its no longer an advantage. But in RD, Aran was my best capping def, str, spd and skl. Brom capped Def and str as did Gatrie. actually, Brom and Gatrie were near identical statwise with only about 2-3 points difference.

I beat it on Normal without using any Laguz and minimal prepromotes(Sanaki,Sigrun, Sothe, i think) Only used 1 nihil scroll and no SS ranked weapons even in the final battles. Only used heal and mend stavewise. Of course no character deaths. :HEHEHE:

_Everyone_ will turn out good, except maybe the stupid laguz. It's FE10, growths are nuts. It's just training them (meg, astrid, etc) that's a pain.

Yeah, every character CAN be good, but there's little point in raising someone like Meg or Fiona or even Edward/Leonardo when there are alternative characters who are just as good and are much easier to train.

I'd argue that Leo can be useful, as he's a ranged character in a group that fights mostly non-ranged enemies, and the only archer of that group to boot, but whatever.

Leo is somewhat useful in early Part 1, granted, but he's definitely not worth raising for the purpose of later use.

You can definitely make an argument for using Leo all throughout Part 3 and even into early Part 4 if you crown him at 20/10 or somewhere around there. The Dawn Brigade is very light on ranged fighters, and 20/10/1 Leo is decent enough filler.
