Brannan entered the barracks and made his way to the kitchen. Byron was sitting at the table, eating breakfast. Brannan considered going over the plan with him then, but decided against it. The man had been wounded, had just woken up, and was eating. Those three facts made it clear that now probably wasn't the best time to talk about business.

"Byron, I'd like to talk to you later when Recens returns." He said this quickly without waiting for a reply, going right for the stairs and to his room when he finished speaking.

Byron nodded, his mouth too full for speech, and resumed eating. He wondered what Brannan needed to talk to him about, but decided he would wait to find out until after he had finished his food.

As the mercenaries leave, XEQ does not hear anybody mention the large dray right outside the building. It leaves the wooden vehicle where it is. Maybe its owner will come out this way and find it, but if not, it will remain where it is. The commander might have some use for it in the future.
The archer marches out to the north, looking around for the young woman who is trying to destroy it. It is unlikely that she would know where they are going, but the inhuman entity does not let its guard down.

Serena

Serena watched Clark's back with pursed lips, her arms folded. Keeping her gaze on the man, she blew a small gum bubble before quickly popping it and stuffing the sticky substance back into her mouth. She looked around her for someone to talk to and her eyes focused on Weyler. He was always reliable and he was also magic user, which was perfect for what her purposes and aims were. Sidling up to the mage, Serena tapped him on the shoulder. She said in a low whisper, "Hey Weyler, I'm not all that convinced that the boss is okay. It's probably his damn pride that's making him do this, so can you help me watch over him a little in the next fight? Don't make it obvious or anything. Just in case he's in trouble or something. Also, do you know how to do that whole magic blaster thing that hit Clark in the first place?"

OOC: Only thing I really have in mind is something with the Order which I can do whenever, but I can come up with something on Myke's end to affirm that my other characters are still involved. :D
---

"So, Myke," Tookie asked, "did he say where we were going and what for?"

"Nope. While you're here," Myke said, "don't expect to find out what you're going to be doing until you're doing it."

"Sounds fun."

"Only when you get used to it." Myke paused for a moment; was he used to it? True, he'd had two years of 'run like hell or risk dying', but that was just running. He hadn't been doing a whole lot of fighting while he'd been in Elibe- a few scraps in arenas here and there to cover food, but nothing too big. Now he was working with the guild, he'd been hoping for a bit more in the way of warning before he was dragged into fighting.

"Myke?," Lilane asked, about the first word Tookie had heard her say, "are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Emysia muttered something under her breath. Evidently, she'd been snooping again.

"Do you have to constantly read my mind?," Myke asked. She claimed it gave her headaches, but she seemed happy to read him like a book all day long. Emysia refused to answer. He should have known by now to expect only answers when he absolutely needed them.

"Yes," Emysia smiled, "you should."

Myke said nothing.

"Of course, Serena. I try to keep an eye out for everyone, but I'll pay special attention to Clark until he's back at the top of his game." Weyler couldn't help but smile as he spoke. He was a bit flattered by Serena's request, and found it sweet of her to show such concern for the commander.

"Well, I imagine I could...I've never tried anything quite like that before, but Anima magic as always been my specialty. Why do you ask?"

Serena

"Ah, nothing. I was just wondering about something. It'd be useful to have in a later job, yanno? It'd help us hit our target and get out immediately if the situation called for it." She explained. "Anyway, thanks for the help Weyler. I'll be counting on you out there."

She tossed him a mini-salute and headed off, now feeling a lot more hopeful about the mission ahead. With her martial prowess and Weyler covering the magic aspect, they'd be able to help defeat any enemy that came at Clark that he couldn't defeat alone. Although Myke probably would be a better choice...but the kid had way too many problems of his own, what with his "I come from another world wooooooo" stuff.

She just hoped it didn't involve mages and their fire. That would be the last thing she needed. More fire.

OOC: Speaking of "I come from another world wooooooo"... Time to check in on them, I think. >_>

---

Far too soon for his liking, Relus was back home on Langras, kneeling before Alkaan again. The old man was strange, in that he seemed far more lively than many people Relus knew around his own age. Maybe there was a reason for it, maybe not.

"You took longer than I thought you would, Relus."

"I'm sorry, Alkaan," Relus said, "I had to check in on the... delivery."

"Oh? The boy has been sent already?"

"Yes, sire. He's fallen quite nicely into place with Myke and the others."

"... Hmm. I assume that he will be joining Myke in an invasion of Langras?"

"When one happens. If one happens. Myke didn't seem like he was willing to chase Vassarin back here, so I wouldn't be surprised if playing a defensive game with them doesn't work." This froze Alkaan in his tracks. His plan had always been to make sure Myke was in Langras before the final blows were struck in order to minimise the damage done to their plans; anything on a foreign world with no relevance otherwise would only draw attention.

"Keep an eye on him, Relus," Alkaan warned, "I'm receiving some very clear messages from our contact that the boy is to remain alive and well. And do try and get some information on the level of opposition we can expect from Elibe. I want to know about anyone that could possibly pose a threat to us." Relus frowned. The "contact" again. He'd heard some of Alkaan's conversations with the "contact", but all he had heard apart from Alkaan were some very low growls.

"And what of Vassarin?," Relus asked. It did the Order no good for Vassarin to be out of action, not with him being the one keeping the gateway secure.

"Send him to me as soon as you can. Our contact will have something prepared. Is there anything else you would ask of me, Relus?"

"Yes, sire," Relus started. It was time to ask one crucial question, one question that could make everything a lot simpler. "What is our contact's interest in the boy?" Alkaan paused, as if hoping Relus would not choose that question.

"... The contact would like to see how the boy adapted to life on this 'Earth'."

"The boy is not from Earth?"

"No. He is not. Where he is from and who he truly is is of no concern to you for the time being. Send Vassarin to me, and prepare yourself. Send me Lily, Minervra and Orious as well. I may as well loosen our defences for now. Our plan is going smoothly enough here, so we might as well fan out and see what more we can learn of Elibe."

"... Lily?"

"Yes, if the boy is here, the girl is ready."

"But--"

"No buts, Relus," Alkaan said, now even more serious, "send Lily to test the boy. Lucialde can observe and provide... assistance."

"Assistance? Lucialde?"

Alkaan said nothing. Relus knew it was time to leave. What was Alkaan planning? The boy being in place was one thing, but how could Alkaan send Lily after him and expect him to leave unharmed? And just who was the contact? What was his interest in the boy? All of these were valid questions, yet Relus knew Alkaan would not answer them until such a time he could probably take a fairly educated guess at the answers anyway. All he could do now was follow his orders.

OOC: I totally know what I'm doing with the Order, I swear.

Spots Toranis, comin' through!

Streak moves up a bit behind Myke and Tookie. "All he said was that it's further north than Auncet. Sounds like we're in for quite the walk." He takes a quick look around, wondering where that wolf had gone - if it had followed them, or, having been fed, gone off on it's own again. Perhaps he's gone off to look for his companion. He did seem awfully riled when I mentioned it. Not once did the thought cross his mind that a wolf probably shouldn't have known or cared what he was saying.

"North of Auncet? Oh, great," Myke moaned, "we're going through Auncet again."

"Auncet?," Tookie asked. He already knew the answer, but it was best not to let that on so soon.

"An area of Etruria run by a... rather duplicious man. Offered a reward for any group who cared to help him with a bandit problem, only to cleave the reward between all involved. We got the bigger share of the two, but unfortunately the other group was from Byron's Fury."

"Byron's?," Emysia asked, "the group you were fighting yesterday?"

"Yeah, Byron's Fury. Ended up nice and close to Brannan on the Auncet job, bit of a shame I hadn't known there were people paying for his head now that I think about it." Okay, not really, but he was a mercenary now, and he had to think of lining the pockets at some point.

"Wait, Myke," Tookie said, "You'd sell out someone you were working with?"

"He's not one of ours," Myke shrugged, "No harm in it. The guy... supervising him, I suppose, and the woman with them looked like they'd be a tough pair to deal with though, so it's probably a good thing I didn't know about the reward. It's definitely a good thing neither of them were fighting us yesterday, though I'd say that we need to pay the woman a visit when we get the chance. Probably with some very lighting-proof armour..."

"You know who left Clark in that state?," Tookie asked, this time quite sincerely. Myke simply shook his head.

"I don't know, but I have a very good idea..."

OOC: Poor Tookie, all this expo he already knows. D:

(He knows everything up to Chapter 3, since that was after the time he was plonked in Elibe.)

Brianna

Brianna followed Clark with the others, Lucien following at her heels which made Brianna feel very happy. She'd never been allowed pets at home in her childhood and certainly not while she was serving in the army. Although it was quite obvious this wolf (well, Streak said it was a wolf and not a dog, and who was she to argue?) was tame and therefore must have an owner of some sort, Brianna immediately felt a sort of kinship with him. A thought occurred to her as they walked together and, not caring if she sound strange or not, began talking to him.

"Hey, boy... I can't keep calling you boy or wolf, you need a name. Let's see... umm... you need a proper guy's name, not a pet dog's name... oh, I know, how about Sebastian? He was a friend of mine back in my soldiering days. You remind me of him, he could play on people's sympathies too, even when we knew he was doing it. Great guy though. What do you think, do you like it?"

Lucien/Sebastian

Sebastian, huh? Not bad, could have been Rover or something equally dog-like. Poor girl, she seems quite lonely even when surrounded by all these people. It was a good thing I decided to tag along.

Lucien nodded his head in approval of his new name and licked Brianna's hand, noticing her broad, sincere smile. It was then that he noticed the man, Streak, ahead of them. Lucien suddenly felt ashamed of his earlier behaviour. After all, he was a full-grown wolf, not some wild pup that couldn't control himself. He nuzzled Brianna's leg with an unspoken promise to return and bounded up to Streak, walking beside him for a time before pressing his nose against the man's hand and whining apologetically.

Streak looked down and smiled, giving the wolf a quick scratch behind the ears. "Ahh... wish there was a way to find out your name, boy. Never much liked the idea of giving something - or someone - a name when they've already got one they're happy with."

To be quite honest, part of him was just happy he hadn't taken offense to the wolf tail stitched to the back of his pants. Far too many people he'd come across had gotten the wrong idea from that. Perhaps his behavior indicated it was worn out of respect for wolves. Or perhaps he simply hadn't noticed it, or maybe even simply didn't care.

Grinning to himself a bit, he looked back down at the wolf, not really caring if it/he could understand him or not. "What do you think so far, eh? Don't seem like bad people... well, we'll see soon enough, I guess, right?"

Once he reached his room, Brannan started running through his morning training routine. He started with his lower body and moved up, starting with lunges and over leg exercises and progressing into sit-ups and the like. During a transition to his upper body routine, in which he prepared to perform push ups with his good arm, he lost his balance and instinctively reached out with his left hand to catch himself. He flinched, expecting came, but none came. He laughed aloud in disbelief, then hurried through the rest of his training with a grin set on his face.

Half an hour later, when he'd finished, he walked to the armory. Looking through the swords, he selected a second blade to wear at his waist and memorized the location of a few more that caught his eye. He wished Recens would hurry back so Byron could approve the plan. Despite the ache of his other healing injuries, Brannan was feeling good enough to take care of the job himself.

I'm...HUNGRY!

As the afternoon wore on, a small city appeared on the horizon. The mercenaries continued northward to the outer gates of the city and were met by a pair of sentinels armed with long pikes.

"What business have you here?"

"I have an appointment with the lady of the manor," replied Clark. "Kallen's the name."

The guard looked at his partner and nodded, then allowed the mercenaries to pass through the gates. Once inside, they found the town inside the walls to be a bustling hive of activity. The town they had come from had its fair share of merchants and businesses, but this was on an entirely different scale. I might be able to find some new armor here, thought Clark. Some of the shops looked shady, but it was to be expected in a town of this size.

Wading through the townspeople, the mercenaries found their way to a small stone castle set in the center of the citadel. The spearmen guarding the door gave them passage, and after climbing a flight of stairs, they found themselves in the main chamber, greeted by a woman dressed much more regally than the people they had seen thus far.

"Lady Gast," Clark said, acknowledging the noblewoman.

"Ah, you must be Clark Kallen," she replied, surveying him. "What happened to your shoulders?"

"...I tripped and fell."

A wide smile appeared on her face. "I'm sorry to hear that. My men will be ready in about an hour or so. Please meet them in the northwest corner at that time; until then, your men are free to roam the city. If they wish to rest, we have several beds available."

Clark turned to the mercenaries. "You heard the lady. We'll head to the training grounds in the northwest corner of the city in an hour, so if you wander into the marketplace, don't get lost."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jane slumped down the stairs still half-asleep and slowly began eating her breakfast. Shortly thereafter, Recens returned from his morning training regime and devoured his food, finishing before Jane had attacked her egg. She yawned and made a face at him, then continued eating.

Recens pulled Byron aside. "There's something Brannan and I need to talk to you about," he said.

Byron nodded. "He said the same thing a short while ago."

The two of them walked upstairs to Brannan's room and knocked twice.

Brannan came up behind Recens and Byron as they stood waiting outside his door.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. Helping myself to a few things from the armory." He motioned to the blades at his waist. "Let's talk inside."

Once the three were inside the room, Brannan turned to Recens. 'Would you like to explain the general idea to Byron?"

Myke nodded. It would be easy to avoid getting lost in the marketplace if he didn't go into the marketplace, and he knew that between him, Lilane, Emysia and Tookie, they didn't have the money to go shopping anyway. Well, he hadn't swiped any of the payment from the Order, and he knew the two women didn't have much money either- only enough for rooms at inns if they were needed. As for Tookie... he was rifling through what appeared to be a sort of purse. Myke's heart lurched- would Tookie be the mystery benefactor of a shopping spree?

... Why are my bus pass and phone top-up card still in here? Not like there are buses here, and there'dve been no point giving me my phone anyway. Oh well. Might as well keep hold of them, I might need them if I ever get back home.

"... Okay, I should be able to cover a new axe," Tookie muttered, "this one probably won't last forever, anyway, and I'd hate to be shortchanged on the job."

"Alright then," Myke said, "we're only going into the markets for long enough to get Tookie whatever it is he has in mind. There are no detours- we need to be at the training grounds soon anyway." The two women sighed. Myke was about to mutter something rather uncomplimentary about women and shopping, but thought otherwise. "Tookie, you lead the way."

---

Tookie had a man's ideaology with shopping- move quickly, only look around enough to find what you're looking for, and leave. It didn't take him long to find a shop selling axes. Now he just had to decide what he was going to get. There were all kinds of axes- he'd never realised just how varied axes could be. There were the huge great-axes that wouldn't look out of place on Vassarin, but would probably crush him. There were little axes which were more for the people on the smaller side- which Tookie definitely wasn't. In the end, he settled on a set of nice little throwing axes- there were a fair amount of them, and it would be nice to be able to throw something back at those damn archers.

Taking what he'd decided on up to the counter, he asked the man serving how much the axes were.

"Oooh, you've got a fine eye there, lad," the man said, "for you, my first customer of the day, those are seven hundred gold." Tookie fished around in his wallet for the money, and handed it over. "Say," the man said, "what do you say to taking this one off of my hands as well?" At this, he gestured at a faintly glowing blue axe on the wall behind him. "It's a nice unique little piece I've had here for a couple of years now, but no-one seems to want it."

"I could," Tookie said, suddenly wary, "depending on how much it costs me. I don't think I have that much left."

"Oh, don't you worry, laddie," the man said, now quite pleased he'd found someone willing to get it out of the shop, "this one's only three hundred gold." Tookie again fished out the requisite sum as the man handed over the axe. "Will there be anything else?"

"No," Tookie replied, as he was fastening his axes into place, "I think that'll be everything."

---

As the group walked out of the shop, Myke looked over Tookie. He definitely seemed a bit more comfortable and prepared now. He'd strapped the pouch of smaller throwing axes to his left shin, with the mystery "bargain" axe sharing the shoulder straps with his old axe.

"Well then," Myke said, "I assume that that's everything we need. Let's go and find this training ground we'll be needed at soon."

Thankfully for the two younger people in the small group, they hadn't gone too far into the marketplace, so after asking a few people for directions (this was mostly Myke), it was just a matter of following the directions they were given.

I hope we're not too early.

OOC: Yay, Tookie is prepared for more than just battering a few thugs over the head now. :D

"Byron, Brannan has proposed we counterattack Clark and his mercenaries," Recens said. "I'll let him explain the details, but the idea is that we'll kidnap whoever it is that assigns Clark's group jobs while they're out. That should lure them right to our doorstep. We can set up traps and get support from some of the mercenaries who owe you a favor so that it's not a repeat of yesterday." Recens stopped to allow Brannan to explain the details further; he didn't want to take credit for Brannan's idea.

Brannan turned to look Byron in the eye. " We abduct the person who's in control of getting Clark his work, that's the first step. But we don't let them know who's responsible for the kidnapping right away...we'll leave signs of a struggle, rough their place up a bit so that they know something went wrong, but we just let them sweat it out for a time, while we make sure we've got everything set up. Then we let them know who's responsible, and lure them right into our trap."

OOC: MEANWHILE

THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY

*Continues prep work for future events/RP*

---

Alkaan surveyed the people who had assembled in his throne room. It had been a long time since so much of the Order's strength had been assembled in one room, but it was now necessary. Vassarin seemed to be recovering well, all things considered. A few hours and one of the few priestesses left on Langras was doing wonders for his arm. Relus and Minervra were eying each other, as was to be expected from them by now- it was common knowledge among the Order that they disagreed fairly violently regarding how to deal with Myke, and only interference from Alkaan had saved Relus from her wrath while he was on Langras. Orious and Lucialde were as silent as ever, with only Lily being new to him.

"Well, then, everyone," Alkaan began, "I'd like to thank you all for appearing before me so promptly. I would also like to ask for your continued co-operation and obedience in the coming months." This last part was directed at Minervra. "It is time for us to expand our operations in Elibe to the whole of Etruria. Minervra and Relus, you will gather information about the country, and see roughly what level of threat it poses to us- since the locals have already bitten back." Vassarin moved to protest this, but a withering glance shot him down. "You will do this seperately, of course. You have enough problems with each other as it is."

"Lily, you have a different job. As you well know, you were brought to Elibe from your home of "Earth" to be a counter for one boy, also from "Earth". This boy has arrived with our known enemies. We would like you to test the boy and provide me an assessment of his skill. Lucialde, you will act as her guardian. I would also like you to speak with the boy, and give him the emblem I gave to you previously. Orious, you will go with them. I trust that you will remain as secretive as ever?" To this, the cloaked man named Orious simply nodded in agreement.

"Now, Vassarin," Alkaan said, his voice becoming ever so slightly more threatening, "you will remain here with me for a time, and you will meet our benefactor. He has a gift he wishes to bestow upon you."

Vassarin looked worried. What kind of gift could Alkaan possibly be in the mood to give him? And why was he the only one to remain?

"That will be all. Everyone except Vassarin, you are dismissed."

---

Lily groaned. It was typical. Her first chance to shine in the Order, and she had no-one but Lucialde (who seemed to know everything but care about none of it) and Orious (who never said anything) to share it with. She wondered who the other person from Earth would be. Was it someone she knew? Was it a complete stranger? Probably a stranger, what with the odds. Oh well. She'd just have to rough him up a bit and leave, then make her judgements. Lucialde nodded at her, as if sensing what she'd thought. Or not. Hard to tell with him.

OOC: ;>_>

I won't have anything from Vassarin for a couple of RP days- mostly so I can figure out how to get his next bit out without spoiling too much.

I'm...HUNGRY!

Clark headed into the marketplace and made a note of where the armory was. He could use a set of light armor for temporary use, but he knew he wouldn't need it on this mission. Clark bought an apple from the marketplace and ate it as he walked casually toward the northwest section of the citadel. He was impressed by the size of the capital city, but knew that Gast extended beyond the outer walls. He wondered if the condition of the outer villages was similar to that of Auncet, or if Lady Gast took care of her subjects.

While he pondered this, he realized he had arrived at the northwest corner. A man with moderately heavy armor and a round shield approached him. "You must be Clark. My name is Harmon," he said, extending a hand. "Lady Gast informed you of what we'll be doing, correct?"

"She did in the job description, but I haven't informed my men yet. I thought I'd let you do the honors and go over the specifics."

Harmon grunted. "We'll leave the citadel grounds and move into the edge of the forest when everyone is here. I'll explain it to them on the way."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Byron's face cracked into a small grin. "I like the way you boys think. I'll get in touch with my contacts as soon as possible. Brannan, you'll work with Recens and Jane to set the traps." Byron was pacing from excitement. "I'll have Ognus run reconnaissance on Clark's employer, and we'll set up the kidnapping and a trail of evidence." His eyes twinkled mischievously as the gears turned in his head.

XEQ has no interest in the city. It makes for the northwest corner immediately. Unfortunately, the buildings are quite tall and the sky is gray. The archer becomes disoriented. As Clark expressly ordered it not to get lost, this is unsettling. How can it obey the order?
Then it sees the commander himself. He is walking down the street, eating an apple.
The inhuman being heads in his direction, keeping its eyes on the man even as the busy city moves between them. It is taller than most of the humans, so this is not as difficult as it might otherwise be.
Finally, XEQ reaches the northwest corner where Clark is already speaking with an armored man.

Pretend I put something witty here.

Myke, having heard the conversation as his group arrived, wondered how much worse the levels of information the group would get in advace were going to get. He didn't say anything, though. At least this Harmon seemed decent enough. Mind, he hadn't exactly said much this morning- he led the way and charged off to deal with Vassarin. Looking around he saw that XEQ had also arrived, as silent as ever. Not that he'd expected something that seemed only to walk, nod and shoot to have any need of shopping, really, so now it was just a matter of waiting for everyone else.

"How long do you think they'll be?," Tookie asked.

"They're normally fairly prompt," Myke replied, "so they should be here soon."

Serena

When told that she could spend an hour doing whatever she wanted before the job started, she did what any self-respecting mercenary woman would do. Go to the blacksmith and stare at his beautiful swords. With her only regret being that she couldn't buy them all, she nevertheless spent a while chatting with the blacksmith over various ways to maintain weapons and improve durability. After a most enlightening discussion (not really), she bid farewell to the friendly man and headed off to where they were supposed to me. Not to her surprise, she saw Clark and Myke and that new guy already there and she raised a hand in greeting.

"Surprised I'm not last...I could have sworn I took advantage of the full hour."

"Don't ask me, we just came over here as soon as Tookie was done shopping," Myke said, indicating Emysia and Lilane as well when he said 'we', "he didn't take that long."

"'That long' to who?," Emysia asked, smiling, "you?"

"... That doesn't matter.", Myke said, a bit more quickly than normal. "The point is, we're here now."

"No, it's not, Myke. The point is that I was asking you a question."

"I'm surprised you don't already know the answer, Emysia. You've been reading my mind like a book for the last few hours."

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"It has to do with the fact that you asked me a question when you could just fish through my mind again to find out the answer." Myke was pleased to note that Emysia saw the truth in that comment, resisting the urge to laugh as she went red. Tookie, however, did not resist very well, earning himself glares from Emysia and, surprisingly, Lilane.

"Sorry," Tookie muttered under his breath, "couldn't help myself."

'I'm glad you approve." Brannan matched Byron's grin, smiling with genuine pleasure. "I've got a request for you, though: I'd like to be the one to do the kidnapping. Clark was one of your men once, I hear, and seeing as he's cunning and willing to turn on you over money, I wouldn't put it past him to warn his employer and offer descriptions of your appearances in case of danger. He's not stupid; he'd be expecting retaliation at some point. But from me? For all he knows, I'm still out of commission. He's seen me maybe twice, and he's got no reason to consider me a threat...yet. I'd be unexpected."

He crossed his arms and widened his grin. "It's a little personal, of course. Perhaps it's a bit unprofessional of me to ask this of you, so I understand if you turn me down. But at least consider it."

It was unlike him to dwell on revenge as much as he did now, but he wasn't seized by rage or obsession over the matter, so it didn't worry him. He was sure his healed state had something to do with it; it'd made him eager to run rampant with his old abilities restored. He reminded himself it wouldn't be just revenge, though...he'd be removing a threat to the welfare of the group.

Spots Toranis, comin' through!

Streak was the next to arrive. In addition to the gear he'd had with him, he had apparently added a row of throwing knives strapped to his chest, a belt with a variety of small tools and gizmo's, and an apple in his hand, which he contentedly munched on. Streak simply nodded to those already present, and took a quick look around. "Wonder where that wolf got to..." He muttered to himself.

Ooh, my head is spinning...

JARRO

He wasn't quite sure how this worked out, but apparently it did. Then again, his contact had some power on the inside, so he supposed arranging all this wasn't entirely impossible. While it was true the Lady did have need of some help, perhaps he pushed for this particular group himself. Regardless, it works, so he didn't care much. The next step would be to get involved with the group, an easy enough task. He was told to wait by the grounds and sure enough, there was Clark. Well, he hasn't seen the man in person, but was told of his description. The man before him matched it well enough. Plus, he heard his name spoken.

Jarro himself wasn't much to look at. While he had a regal appearance, he himself was not nobillity of any sort. Merely a middle-aged man with a medium build, short brown hair, but his most peculiar trait were his blue eyes. while they weren't anything extrodinary, they seemed to possess a hypnotic gaze to them. After Clark finished his business with Harmon, Jarro approached the man, "My apologies, Clark Kalan? My name is Jarro, I've been instructed by my Lady to watch over your group while you perform your job, and provide assistance if neccessary. I trust that won't be neccessary though." Well, okay, that was a half lie, while he wasn't associated with her by any means, someone did tell him to watch over the group, but no matter. Jarro held out his hand for a handshake.

And why should I trust your ability? You have very consistently been losing ground to the Germans, regardless of whether I've been on your side or not. What you're telling me is that I have a dilemma: either I can fight you and see you lose all of your SCs to Germany, or I can fight Germany and see you lose all of your SCs to Germany.

Weyler was trailing near the end of the group, looking over his surroundings. This wasn't the first time he'd been in a large city of this sort, and he knew from experience how easy it was to get lost. He tried to stick close to the others, but he'd become distracted now and then with the scenery. He'd ran to catch up with the others multiple times now. At last, the others had stopped, having reached the northwest corner. Weyler walked over to where the others were standing and listened, hoping to catch some of the job details.

ZSM>ZSS. Don't lie.

OOC: I need to withdraw from this for a while. I don't have much time to use, and as Soul can testify, I've barely kept on track with diplomacy. Can I join back up later?
Despite the avy, I still like Marth. Other than that, waiting for something sig-able.

Alfaya, the level 17 Wyvern Rider.
Almiala, the level 10 Brigand.
Selena, the level 6 Gypsy.

For what it counts, taking PM challenges.
And now open to every single battle you want (provided my chars deal at least one damage). Yeah, even the ones I can't win I'll accept. Save for ones involving Almiala.

... uh-huh.

(OOC: <___<;; One crappy RP coming right up.)

Brianna/Lucien

Brianna had used the hour as an opportunity to get to know her new wolf companion better. She bought him some fresh meat (whih he greatly appreciated) and found a quiet alleyway in town in which to talk to Lucien without drawing the attention of the townfolk. Despite the obvious obstacles to conversation, Lucien's humanlike gestures and obvious grasp of English meant he could respond appropriately to Brianna's rambling speeches, which ranged from childhood experiences to discussing which foods she liked best. They were so caught up with getting to know one another that they almost missed the deadline, and had to rush to the meeting place to catch up with the rest of the group. They stood, panting a little, and waited for their next orders.

(OOC: That's what you get when I write an RP in 5 minutes. *vanishes*)

Clark eyed the newcomer warily, but shook his hand anyway to avoid suspicion. He didn't look like one of Marakken's men, but it didn't hurt to be cautious.

Harmon cleared his throat loudly. "If you'll all be so kind as to follow me this way, please," he said, gesturing with his arm. The group complied and left the citadel grounds with him at the lead.

OOC: Next event up shortly.
