Advice for a speedrun?

So the idea of speedrunning Team Fortress 2 has crossed my mind on more than one occasion, and since I need something to pass my non-studying time prior to HGSS' release, I decided to speedrun TF2. Anyone else tried this?

I know for the Scout's father segment, the spiral staircase is the preferred way to get the intel out of BLU base, but the chance of getting killed there makes me consider using Bonk!, and that leads me to wondering whether I should use Bonk! all the time for general damage avoidance. It sounds pretty useful with the run-at-full-speed exploit, but I don't wanna give up my pistol. Any thoughts?

now quite kosher!

With Bonk!, you shouldn't have to worry about needing a pistol. I know it's amazingly helpful against Green Sniper, but your scattergun should be good enough.

Ok, hop aboard then. Adventure awaits.

Bonk! is great for speedruns except in situations where it locks you in rooms, like those pregame spawn massacres. Try to plan to have your pistol for them, but otherwise go with Bonk!

So now I have to devise a route to take to weapons lockers before those events... hm. Workin' on it.

Obviously, for the best possible speedrun (Tool assisted, no doubt), the Equalizer Soldier would be fastest. However, in a no-reloading from saves on, where your mistakes contribute to the total score, I would actually suggest using the Medic. His health regen will help avoid those long respawn times and he's still pretty fast.

Equalizer TAS would be amazing. If I had the patience, I'd do it - the video would be fascinating to watch.
