Some of you may have noticed I've been dicking about with FE hax again. I figured since me doing this is about as new and exciting as grass growing, I should explain. This project will see some real closure. That is, I'm confident enough with the hacking tools and whatnot for me not to get stressed out when only cosmetic stuff remains. in addition, I have a good deal of plot planned out for a change. The project's placeholder title is Herald of Faith. Significant changes include: ~ A number of maps being altered either a little, or entirely. ~ Nomads. They now excel in Str and Spd, at the cost of being goddamned fragile. Males use bows, females swords. Both get both on promotion. ~ Paladins and Sages either specialise in one weapon or the triangle, depending on sex. Male Sages get light/dark/anima, and male Paladins get critty lances. Female Sages get pure anima (and better offensive stats), and female Paladins get the weapon triangle. ~ Wyvern builds are either Str/Def (male) or Spd/Def (female). ~ Soldiers promote into Crusaders, the equivalent of a Knight Lord. ~ Thieves use knives; thief-specific weapons with awful Mgt and reasonable crit. They are (currently) infinite-use, and eventually lead to getting the Stiletto, which pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pie pierces armour. ~ Level cap upped to 30, exp gains increased. Growths are substantially lower. Theoretically, more levels means less chance RNG screwage/blessage, but we'll see. ~ I just used some nifty patches for these, but FE9/10-style weight/AS system, and console mounted movement are inclusive. ~ Vulneraries heal for 20. Progress checklist: Chapters modified: LHM P-10, ENM 11-23*. *One of two routes Chapters I'm totally happy with: LHM 1-5, 8*, ENM 13, 14*, 16, 18, 18x, 19, 20. *might be a touch overtuned. Script: LHM P-5. Character Portraits: Spoiler: click to toggle Character bases/growths: All implemented; might be reviewed after sufficient playtesting. Enemy growths: All implemented; might be reviewed, seeing as they seem to be overtuned. Pics Videos Also, FESS patch which is as done as it'll ever get. Should be completely playable, please tell me if there are any bugs that cause problems, other than the old Iron Brace one. Isn't much plot/portrait work done though, as I didn't know how to work FEditor at the time and it was too tedious. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5G9NNP6G Edited by Iron Shaman, Sep 7 2010, 12:07 PM.

So no Sages get staves, and male Paladins don't get swords? The latter seems strange unless you're giving Cavaliers lances only, and the former might necessitate better alternative healing options (at least FE10 vulneraries).
So how do female wyvern knights differ from pegasus knights?
Why?
This is a good idea!
How well does a system without separate str/mag really support the FE9 weight system? Anyway I will be watching this project :D Edited by Nate, Aug 11 2010, 10:38 AM.

I'd forgotten to mention it, but yes - Vulneraries do indeed heal for 20 now.
Firstly, Pegasus Knights are still slightly faster; secondly, Peggies come much earlier (playable character0wuse) and still handle magic users far more effectively. A female Wyverner could hold a choke-point very well, however.
If you mean knives, it's so Assassins can do their thing without constantly needing a Killing edge, and because I felt like it. If you meant the stiletto, It was more of an idea. If it seems too good, I'll ditch it. But considering thieves' balls str, it works quite well so far.
Its a pain to balance, but I'm liking the change so far.
Takes some rebalancing, but I like the idea of tomes becoming easier to master the more powerful you get, for a start.

Oh man I made a hell of a breakthrough with Ch18E. It feels a lot faster than the original dread Isle chapter, but it's pretty dangerous. You head south chasing after the decoy boss until the real one warps into the field 10 turns in. :D |

4:24 PM - John Ѯzzingford: "Alternate Universes". 4:24 PM - John Ѯzzingford: Taking an existing set of characters, and putting them in an altogether different setting. 4:25 PM - John Ѯzzingford: For example, you could take the cast of the Mario games, and set them up in some kind of detective-versus-cannibal-mastermind drama. | |

Are there supposed to be random floor tiles in the grass? Not to mention the random water (though it's a little more feasible) If you're not finished then that's okay but if you are, you better have a good reason for the clusterflippity flap you created >:( |

Also, noticed that you have a completely useless breakable wall tile that's incompatible with the wall below it (makes it look too weird) |

For the record, this shouldn't be happening with a strict filter. It is NOT a loose filter. |

![]() Ch23, assuming you want to visit the port. Tilesets are frustratingly limited at times. EDIT: ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh hey look how the enemy has more avoid (and though you can't see it, defense) than usual. maybe this is because they are near their boss ! Got single-sided supports sussed now. :D Only thing is, it only gives the affinity bonus from the guy with the support, so insead of getting 1 Dmg, 5 Crit, 1 Def, 5 Avo, they get 1 Def, 5 Avo. I could use up one of the affinity spots solely for such enemies, mind. I might do just that ! Edited by Iron Shaman, Aug 28 2010, 11:10 PM.
