Ravenclaw is an Eagle, ravens are black, on none of the crests are the birds black, also look at the wings, a Raven's wings are smooth, Eagles' aren't; the wings on the crest are not "smooth"

Want some concrete evidence from the books? Order of the Phoenix, Chapter Thirty, Page 683, right before the final Quittich match:

"Luna Lovegood overtook them with what appeared to be a live eagle perched on top of her head" (Emphasis mine)

then, a line latter, "...watching the eagle flapping its wings..." (again, Empahsis mine) That's American edition BTW.

Gryffindor is a lion. Again, concrete evidence from the most recent book:

Order of the Phoenix Chapter Nineteen is entitled "The Lion and the Serpent" it protrays the Quittich match between Gryffindor and Slytherin

And again, in the same chapter, on page 403 of the American Edition:

"Luna Lovegood had drifted over from the Ravenclaw table. Many people were staring at her and a few openly laughing and pointing; she had managed to procure a hat shaped like a life-size lion's head, which was perched precariously on her head.

'I'm supporting Gryffindor...'" (All Emphasis mine)

so, Ravenclaw is a eagle and Gryffindor is a lion. All proved to us thanks to Luna Lovegood and her crazy hats.

I'm pretty sure that Hufflepuff badger, though I don't have any evidence from the book.

Ravenclaw-eagle-Rowena Ravenclaw inherited the eagle shaped pendant from her grandfather Loberus who said that all experience is in that pendant.

Gryffindor-lion-Godric Gryffindor live with his famaily in Africa, away of witch-hating muggles in england. In Africa he enjoyed to look lions and their behavior

Slytherin-snake-I don't know why maybe just because he was a parselmouth

Hufflepuff-Badger-First her mascot was a falcon but when she realized that Ravenclaws mascot is also a bird she took the badger from some student.

I can put the whole text here which I found on the Internet.......

(( Here ya go, Kiyoko :P I edited it ))

Ravenclaw 6th year boy

Lets think of it this way:

Gryffindor is a house of bravery, lion= strength, courege

Ravenclaw is a house of wit, I potrey the eagle as a pritty smart creature

Slytherin is a house of cunning, snake= sly (hence slytherin)

Hufflepuff is a house of loyalty, I don't see how that fits with a bager, but that is what it is.

Hufflepuff: or, a bager sable
Slytherin: vert, a serpent argent
Ravenclaw: azure, an eagle or
Gryffindor: gules, a lion rampant or

the only 2 that there was really any dispute over was ravenclaw and gryffindor, but Luna's hat show that it's an eagle and a lion respectively. the gryffen (sp) in gryffindor argument is not a good one, cos the we would have badgerpuff and snakelerin etc.

and besides this argument finished months ago!
