THE WORST BIRTHDAY

Not for the first time, an argument had broken out over breakfast at
number four, Privet Drive. Mr. Vernon Dursley had been woken in
the early hours of the morning by a loud, hooting noise from his
nephew Harry's room.

"Third time this week!" he roared across the table. "If you can't
control that owl, it'll have to go!"

Harry tried, yet again, to explain.

"She's bored," he said. "She's used to flying around outside. If I could
just let her out at night -"

"Do I look stupid?" snarled Uncle Vernon, a bit of fried egg dangling
from his bushy mustache. "I know what'll happen if that owl's let
out."

He exchanged dark looks with his wife, Petunia.

Harry tried to argue back but his words were drowned by a long,
loud belch from the Dursleys' son, Dudley.

First, Gregory’s Unctious Unction. This potion was developed by Gregory the Smarmy, and is one of the rare unctions that can be ingested, as it is smooth and oily. It persuades the person who consumes or comes into direct contact with the potion that the person who gave it is his or her best friend in the world. The possible uses of this are many, and should be fairly obvious.

A whole mango should be sliced in half (lengthwise, like a bagel) with a sharp fruit knife, then cut into quarters. Hold each piece down against your plate with a fork, skin-side up, and pull the skin away. The mango can then be cut up and eaten with a spoon. You may also be served one that has already been cut — halved, perhaps, with the stone removed but the skin intact. Eat this like an avocado, with a spoon.

Their diet includes invertebrates (such as insects, spiders, earthworms, snails and crabs), fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds and small mammals.

The main food largely depends on the species of Owl. For example, Scops and Screech Owls feed on insects mostly, while Barn Owls eat mainly mice, shrews and voles. Larger Owls such as the Eagle Owl will prey upon hares, young foxes and birds up to the size of ducks and gamebirds

((taken from http://www.meyer-rochow.com/penguinpoo.htm))

Ladies and Gentlemen, We are very happy to see that the jury has found our research worth the award! Unfortunately both of us have encountered some problems getting a visa to be here in person. We don't know why, but let's hope it had nothing to do with the explosive nature of our work!
Our project started in Antarctica during the first (and only) Jamaican Antarctic Expedition in 1993, which I had organized and was the leader of. Many photographs of penguins and their "decorated" nests were taken. Later at a slide show at Kitasato Daigaku in Japan, I was asked by a student during question time to explain how the penguins decorated their nests. I answered: They get up, move to the edge of the nest, turn around, bend over -and shoot. The student who had asked the question, she blushed, the audience chuckled, and we got the idea to calculate the pressures produces when penguins poo. Thank you!
