I don't like those proposed changes at all. Why don't they just give everyone unlimited ammo, unlimited spawning, and maybe some health packs you can pick up around the map? If I wanted to be playing a game like that then there are other options out there... It sounds like using flashes is going to be useless and that keeping track of bullets is going to be less of an issue... and this is more FUN?

The only thing I agree in this is to correct the bugs. The rest is...

UPDATE FROM THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM Here’s an update on what you may expect to see in the next release of America’s Army: Special Forces. We’ve based these ideas on our own thoughts, community feedback, beta testing, and public focus groups: [*]We’re doing everything we can to decrease the size of the full version download. This is very important to us and we’ve already made considerable progress. Good... it's getting way too big. [*]Additional enhancements for server admins. One of the features we have added is a freecam or ghost mode. Hmm, I see a lot of potential for abuse, unless this is limited to spectating admins only. Then there is still potential for abuse, but it's less likely. [*]There’s a good chance we’ll have added functionality to Demorec. So far we’re looking at simple additions such as fast forward, rewind, and pause controls. Good... demorec playback is a pain. [*]Due to strong community feedback we have shortened the effect of the flashbangs. This effect may be cut by as much as half and would only be done to increase the fun factor. What? That sucks! I'm guessing they are losing players to faster paced games, but a lot of us (especially us long timers) really appreciate the goals of realism this game has (or I guess HAD). [*]Where possible, and practical, we may remove some static meshes or map decorations in an attempt to increase frames per second and ease of movement. This is a good thing. It would allow people with less powerful computers to keep up. [*]The time it takes to reload a weapon will be decreased slightly in order to speed up game play a little bit, in response to the great feedback we have gathered from everyone. From everyone who? It's one of the biggest adrenaline rushes in the game to empty a clip and be in that "OOoooh crap" moment of having to reload. Same "realism" comment as the flashbang change. [[*]As always, we are continuously looking at bugs that have been reported and will do our best to eliminate as many as possible. Well, that's a good one. Maybe they should spend more time on this part than dumbing down the game for the whiners that don't get what this game is about? |

Oh come on now. The only bad parts are the flashes and magazine thing. The rest is stuff they normally say, with the exception of Demorec features and extra server admin enhancements. Nice post rogue, I was just about to say seomthing like that. |

Considering AA is foremost a recruiting tool, its target audience isn't old farts like us in their mid thirties who have a life and couldn't care less for joining the army. They are looking for 15 year old kids who don't know yet what to do with their life, and want to propose the army as a viable option. Apparently many people at that age have the attention span of a goldfish and want to feel powerful. So "improvements" for CQB have to be the main objective for AA. I don't like either.

When I said the rest is crap, didn't want to say all the rest. I should have specified what. I don't like the reload and flash issues. Decreasing the game size is a very good thing. |

I think I should add that there is some debate as to the actual attention span of Goldfish... |
