Yeah its true, china has surpaced us economically and they have way more population, they would be a huge threat IF they wanted to be, for alot of our things are made in China, they have like 3x as many people and they know it XD. But also if you look at it the other way..alot of their people would be out of a job and probably they would crash...I dunno |

yeah i remember 9/11 i was in fourth grade. omg it was horrible my ss teachers daughter worked in the EXACT floor it hit! and when she found out all us fourth graderss saw was our role model screaming crying and all the teachers escorting us to another class room. honestly it was so horrible. it turns out about one hour before it hit, she was transfered to a lower level, and she was alright. just to make one thing clear, you guys are kinda making it seem like im only seeing the war one way. well my uncle was constantly in iraq and he was even on sixty minutes (it was weird seeing him in iraq on tv) NE way, i can see how difficult it is for a soldier to go into iraq and i feel many ways about the war. i wrote the message right after i saw the disturbing video. and you know how it is, right after i saw it i felt one emotion rushing through me-anger. actually my uncle is almost a general . thats like THE highest you can go before like president. lol. cant picture that. anyway he has a son thats an eagle scout and you can tell that means so much to him! i was at his eagle scout ceremony today actually. its really amazing to see how the war affects lives. he was there for over a year. believe me its really tough, its amazing how he pulls through though, he is a role model to me. |

They were already oppressed and tortured. They did not and still do not know the meaning of freedom. It'll probably take at least another generation before they know what freedom is. They have spent their whole life being opressed and now that they are free, (in their mind, they are .. I would say.. are still oppressed because they're not used to thinking for themselves and know how to help themselves basically. Only most likely their children's children will truly know what freedom is because they will have the chance to be raised that way. Because these people have been oprressed for so long that they cant just learn to be free and think for themselves overnight. (I don't know if someone already in any way commented you on this, but I just had to reply like.. quickly ya know?) |

Its one thing to be opressed by a dictator, but its a whole new thing being opressed by OUTSIDERS. That completely shatters the pride of their own country (or what's left with it anyway). Dictator = bad, but Outsider Americans in a country that an entire POINTLESS war with Casualties on BOTH sides = Even worse. <_< War is pointless, but for some reason this world can never stop. Hence, humans will one day destroy each other... Oh wait, TOO LATE XD |

Does America tell people how to worship, who to worship, where to live, where to work, what to wear, etc.? Does America torture their own people? Does America land nuclear bombs on their own country? In that country, their justice is that even when a woman supposedly cheatd on her husband (which there, they don't need proof, just a "witness" to say so if she did or not, and they could be lying as well.. which is in the same concept as in 'The Crucible.') the people there who have enough power to, can tie her to the back of a truck and drag her around however they please when a bag is placed over her head. Then when they're done, they stop and blow her head away with a gun. That is "cleansing" the family that she supposedly "betrayed". That is justice there. You think they are worse off now that we are there and providing a lot of them with the help they need? If anything, America has sacrificed.. Our young men and women in the army, military, etc. die in this process of protecting our home that we live in. They die helping those people who we are at the same time against, as well. A lot of people there are actually happy that our soldiers are there. And I agree with you on one point. War is pointless. But the human mind is the most evil and corrupted thing in the world. Human beings started this, and it's in us, the human mind's choice, how to end it. |

war is inebidable (Sp?) we are humans, humans are flawed, and make mistakes, make enemies and friends. Also, Peace..peace is a dream of philosophers and Dreamers, thats all it is, a dream it is impossible, a goal we all strive for but will never achieve due to our human elements. Especially World Peace, I think its quite optimistic to think we can achieve it, but also quite idiotic, it is impossble. You can put the 3 best of friends together, forever, making decisions and such.. they are bound to argue. you think we can acomplish it with a city? county? state? Country? and even World? No. I dont, sorry. War, yes it is pointless bloodshed, but it is very important, it teaches us, shows our mistakes and how to learn from them and fix them. Also to avoid it. But, if you dont learn from it, history is doomed to repeat itself, over and over, until somone realizes the pattern and figures out what the problem is. Militarys are vital, because people will be people. the hole reasons of civilizations weren't so everyone could "live in peace and harmony. yay. lets help each other" no, they were created so they could gain power, take over others and control them, so wars could be won in not only strength but numbers. If we never had the urges to fight others, civilization wouldnt be what it is, people would live where they wanted.. and if you want to get ever more down to it, unfortunatly violence is important to the world also, without it chaos could break loose thousands of time more than it does now, violence casues fear, which in turn forms respect, a child puts his hand in the fire, will he do it again? in most cases not, he has learned to respect the fire in fear of it burning him. sorry, this was random and probably not understandable, but..yeah Crashing down on war blindly was kinda annoying to me, but then again, right now im being kinda heartless and one sided, sorry. War is more important than you come to think somtimes, its not stupid, things do get acomplished, but everything is at a cost. Everything, you just have to determine is the cost worth it, somtimes it is, some times its not, i dont think its so easy on the people in charge to call for war, either, so...yeah |

Well it is true that Peace is pretty much impossible. The whole world is balanced on two factors: Liberty and Order. Having ALL liberty leads to Anarchy, which most people fear. Without Order, people will murder, steal and do all kinds of terrible things with no one to do anything to stop it. And Order leads to loss of rights and Dictatorship. When you place a line in the middle: People complain that they have too much order and lack of rights OR, not enough order. Then people complain to the government. So what is Peace? No such thing. They were opressed by a dictator, that much is true. But they had no weapons on mass destruction, and the middle east already had set up the line that they didn't want other countries to mess with their affairs. *the cold war destroyed their home to begin with* And they accepted their way of life, eventually they would overthrow the dictator if it went too much out of hand. But sometimes when a country is struck with disaster *Cold war of Russia and the U.S using the middle east as their battle ground* A country in complete anarchy, and the fact that their country was torn completely leads them to the necessity of a dictator, or communism *like in Vietnam where Communism would actually do more good than bad* All in all. We have a tendency to repeat problems in the past. Like Germany turned to Hitler during their time of Anarchy. The world is messed up... and I gues it'll just stay that way. War is a nightmare... but Peace is just a dream that covers up the nightmare... making War all the more harsher. |

yeah.. but also you could look at it in a way, we are making up for our mistakes, I mean, its kinda like a person with major problems denying help, even when its needed. does the friend back off and let the other suffer? or persist to try and make things better? especially if they are the cause.. |

Yes. and besides. War has been here since the beginning of time. It's unavoidable and there will probably be more to come. But maybe not, since because we are learning from our mistakes and discovering new ways to resolve problems. But some people just want power from behind a weapon and nothing else. And sometimes no one can change that. |

It's why I said maybe. See, I think i'm just being too optimistic. But the reality of war is what it is. And it kept repeating itself from the beginning of time. It's mostly bound to continue. |
