Garchomp tends to be better than Flygon. Heck, it was Uber in the gen 4 metagame. As for a grass/bug type, Ferrothorn comes to mind for a defensive poke, but you should probably go with speed boost Scolipede. Give it swords dance and baton pass, and it can pass a massive boost to Garchomp, making it nearly unstoppable, unless the enemy has something with ice shard, in which case, you'll have to take said thing down first, which is a job for Gengar. With shadow tag, it can easily take care of any ice shard users besides Donphan, so be careful around that thing. Back to Scolipede, though. A plus 2 megahorn or x-scissor will wreck opposing grass, psychic and dark types. And with earthquake in the last slot, you can take care of steel types, though you'll have trouble hitting flying types hard, so rock slide is also a good option, especially with Talonflame running rampant. Oh, and you could also get rid of baton pass and use both coverage moves instead.

Great advice! However, the shadow tag Gengar won't work, because it is going to have a Gengarite. Although, I suppose that I could switch between Garchompite and Gengarite... and I might fill that last open space with Weezing for a physical wall... I really don't know, I'm new to this, so your help is really appreciated!

EDIT: Waitwaitwaitno. Weezing is poison. I don't want three poison types in my party. Huge weakness to Psychic (not in the case of scoliopede) and ground. Nvm.

Well, shadow tag is Mega Gengar's ability, so if it has gengarite, it will have shadow tag as long as it's mega. Also, I don't think garchompite would be worth it, seeing as it would mean you couldn't use Mega Gengar, who has great synergy with Garchomp. As for a physical wall, Skarmory is far better at that job. Weezing is more of a bulky attacker, and it's not good in OU. If you don't want to use Skarmory, Rotom-W, Togekiss or Milotic could be great alternatives.

1: Last I checked Scolipede would still be weak to psychic, for what it's worth. Bug is super effective against it, but isn't resistant.
2: Another great alternative if you don't want to use Skarmory is to use Skarmory anyway because it's amazing.

Well, shadow tag is Mega Gengar's ability

OH! For some reason, I was thinking about the Spell Tag... brain fart. Even though Skarmory has amazing defensive stats, its other ones are rather lackluster... and I've used Togekiss a good many times, and don't enjoy reusing pokemon... I think I'll go with rotom.

EDIT: Actually. I'm a derpF*CKINGF*CKFACE. Why would I need Skarmory to do anything else? Skarmory.

Wonderful news: New HA pokemon
I can now supply HA Squirtles and HA Marills

Also caught a shiny HA Azumarill. I am very happy.

@DG I've yet to create an actual team yet. Just random pokes that I've trained. And screw your Tyranitars. :fistshake:

1: Last I checked Scolipede would still be weak to psychic, for what it's worth. Bug is super effective against it, but isn't resistant.

That is true, but with just one speed boost, Scolipede can outspeed any psychic type, minus Deoxys speed maybe (To lazy to calc it), and, as far as I can remember, there is not priority move that hits Scolipede for super effective damage, meaning that, at plus 2 attack, no psychic type, not even Deoxys defense, would want to stay in against it, except focus sash Alakazam I guess, depending on whether it would be worth losing that sash. So yeah. After one turn, it cannot be reliably revenge killed by psychic types.

Edit: @IN: I'd be interested in a HA Squirtle. Things I could give you for it include Joltik, Beldum, Larvesta, drought Vulpix or swift swim Poliwag.

If you're going to be trying to check Psychic-types with Scolipede, you'd probably want to run X-Scissor instead of Megahorn, it being more reliable.

Also, you won't just have to watch out Alakazam. Reuniclus will take X-Scissor with no problem, and even LO boosted Megahorn coming off Adamant Scolipede is but a 2HKO. And that's with no EVs in Reuniclus' Defense; just HP.

Reuniclus' Psychic also is a guaranteed OHKO against Scolipede, taking out between 120 and 140% of Scoli's HP.

Just for the heckuvit, I'm gonna go on a bit of a Theorymon tangent and contemplate on the five fully-evolved Sticky Web users:

Masquerain: Unfortunately, the worst of the Sticky Web users. Its only merit is Intimidate, but it doesn't even have the bulk to make use of it. Quiver Dance? lolplz

Ariados: Second-worst, maybe even in a tie with Masquerain. It does have a usable Attack stat, plus a usable priority move in Shadow Sneak.

Shuckle: It's the slowest of the five. It does have the greatest defenses in tandem with some very interesting support moves, but that Speed may be its downfall at crucial moments.

Galvantula: Regarded as the best Sticky Web user, it's easy to see why. It has a very nice 97 SpAtk which meshes well with its special movepool, especially when Thunder + Compoundeyes is such a potent combo. However, it is frail, and often needs a Focus Sash to be useful beyond the turn it uses Sticky Web. It's kind of a one-trick pony.

Leavanny: I feel like this thing is overlooked. It's kinda like a physical Galvantula, having similar pros and cons. However, it does have one thing over Galvantula: thanks to Overcoat, it is the fastest user whose Focus Sash won't be rendered useless in a Sandstorm.

Now, that whole spiel up there leads into a dilemma I've been having:
Here's what I have planned for my next team so far:

Garchomp (Mega)
Exploud
Mandibuzz/Crobat (former if I can get it, latter if Mandibuzz is unavailable)
Azumarill (might be Rotom-W, but I feel like I should have some priority on this team)

Now, I don't know how to fill up the last two slots. So, which should I go with: Tyranitar and Leavanny, or Mamoswine and Galvantula?

Note that Tyranitar & Mamoswine would have Stealth Rock, while Leavanny & Galvantula would have Stick Web.

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't see Masquerain getting much use. Galvy seems to be the best on the surface, but Overcoat Levannny and Shuckle certainly seem entirely viable.

If you go for Galvy and Leavanny, you're going to have no Pokes that resist Flying and one that's 4x weak to it. For that reason, I'd probably go for T-tar and Mamo, myself. But, then again, what do I know?

EDIT: oh, crap. Wow. Er... I obviously read that wrong. I'd go for Galvy and Mamo, in that case. But they're the two I have the most experience with, so perhaps I'm biased.

@DG: I don't doubt it, I was merely pointing it out.

@Blitz: Last night I went through about a dozen Megahorns without missing once. I have been disillusioned as to how accuracy works outside of battle tower & stuff that's hacked I tell you.

@ZD: If you're willing to wait until Pokebank I can get you a Vullaby. And I'd say Mamoswine/Galvantula but I might be a little bit biased.

Hmm, alright. Pretty much the Sticky Web users go with the Stealth Rock users, and the main arguments that I have for the two are as follows:

Tyranitar is just a very good Pokemon. Sandstorm is such a useful weather for residual damage, and it even boosts Tyranitar's special defenses. As DG & DF know, it has a very nice special movepool. Thus, it has a nice surprise factor over Mamoswine, making an excellent anti-lead that catches opponents off-guard.

Mamoswine is just as good. Thick Fat helps it take hits, though to what extent I have not witnessed myself. The main boon Mamoswine has over Tyranitar is priority with Ice Shard, and as you can see with my team, it's a bit lacking even with Azumarill.

I'd like to see what others have to say, though. Thanks for the opinions; they're really helpful in my decision. ^_^

@Clocky: I do have my own Vullaby back in my White version. Thanks for offering, though. Perhaps I shouldn't be so fussy about accessing Pokemon with Pokebank only 26 days away...

Gengar
Greninja
Klefki
Garchomp
Scoliopede
Skarmory

Now. I need some help with the more technical stuff like natures and abilities.

EDIT: srry fer not nowin alots a stuff

With Gengar I'd run timid nature with the moves shadow ball, sludge bomb, focus blast and either thunderbolt or dazzling gleam.
With Greninja, I'd say timid nature with life orb and the moves hydro pump/surf, dark pulse, ice beam and u-turn/grass knot. Oh, and obviously protean for the ability.
With Kefki a bold or impish nature seems to be the most popular. As for the moves, thunder wave, spikes, substitute and foul play works well. You could also use dual screens instead of spikes and sub, though. Obviously the ability would be prankster.
Garchomp can do with both jolly and adamant nature. I'd say that adamant would probably be better if you're running a baton passing Scolipede or a scarfed Chomp though. If it's banded or SD, I'd recommend jolly nature. As for moves, I'd go with dragon claw/outrage, earthquake, stone edge and fire fang/swords dance. The ability will have to be rough skin, as sand veil is illegal in smogons rule book.
Scolipede, I'd go adamant nature, obviously with speed boost. As for the moves, well I already talked about those, but if you're running support Scolipede, you could consider using either variety of spikes (Probably toxic spikes, 'cus Skarm) over your coverage move (EQ/rock slide). You could also go with both types of spikes and dump SD as well, but I feel like SD is really valuable on a baton pass set.
Last bot not least, Skarmory. There's no real reason to not run either impish nature or careful nature. As for ability, sturdy is the best choice by far. As for moves, roost, whirlwind, spikes and brave bird is probably the best.

So yeah, that's all the advice I have for now.
