Sorry IN, I hadn't seen your post. I'm really not familiar enough with Pikachu to give much of an opinion. Good idea with Icicle Crash to deal with ground types, though anything Ground/Rock or Ground/Steel is going to be a problem. I think if I recall, Pikachu (or at least Raichu) can learn Brick Break and/or Focus Blast though. I'd consider putting one of those on instead of Nuzzle for better coverage. I also have a question to ask everyone. Let's say Rayquaza landed a critical, KO-inducing hit on Deoxys. Can Deoxys be challenged again, or do I need to re-set and go all through catching Rayquaza again...? |

I actually had something similar happen, except my Ray just OHKO'd Deoxys without a crit. Don't worry, though. If you beat the Elite Four a second time, Deoxys WILL reapear on top of the Sky Pillar. In fact, I'm fighting Deoxys up there right now. |

Yeah, every legendary other than Rayquaza and the Latis (which Thou Must obtain) can be killed and encountered after defeating the Elite Four. Yes, even the Primals. BTW, I'm almost done fiddling with my current team. DG, we're definitely gonna have to rematch soon. |

Basically, the free for all is a multi battle, except instead of it being a team game, you're fighting everyone, including the person on your side of the field. This video explains it in depth. |

So, I'm currently trying to catch myself a good Regirock. And, uhh... Last attemp something funny happened. Basically, I wanted to catch it in a repeat ball for not reason other then being fashionable. So I bought 51 of them, just to be sure I had enough. So last attempt, I just kept throwing them and throwing them, but then I seriously ran out of the bloody repeat balls. So then, because I didn't wanna be boring and catch it in a ultra ball, so I threw a great ball instead, thinking "watch as this catches it immediately". Spoiler alert, that single great ball indeed caught it immediately, and I'm a prophet apparently. Unfortunately that one had a bad nature and its perfect IVs where in the wrong places, so I soft-reset, but still, that was absolutely hilarious. |

Can I get someone to help me this weekend? I'm killing my game after I beat the Elite Four and I wanted to save my team. It'll be so much nicer to know when you're forced to get a legendary Pokemon so I can SR and be ready for it or whatever. Also wanted good event Beldum and CPikachu. |

I can store your team on my OR file until you want them back. Just tell me when you need me. BTW, I'm pretty sure the event Beldum has a locked nature, one which isn't very good for a Metagross. |

Hey, think I could get some help with a couple sets? Normally I'd just look on Smogon, except it doesn't work on my phone any more since their update. Aggron, Leftovers Rock Head, Adamant EVs: Max HP, Sp.D, re. Def -Head Smash -Iron Head -Earthquake -Fire Punch The main thing I'm unsure of are the nature and EV spread. Head Smash is the go-to attack of course. Iron Head is a back-up STAB. Earthquake's is on there to hit Steel-types that resist its STAB. The last slot... Fire Punch is basically there for any Steel types -I.E. Skarmory or Ferrothorn- that Earthquake doesn't hit SE. But I'm not sure if there isn't a better choice for that slot... Gallade, Galladite Justified, Jolly EVs: Max Atk, Spe, re. HP -Close Combat -Zen Headbutt -Knock Off -Ice/Drain Punch With it's Mega stats I think/assume Gallade has enough speed and power to invest in that rather than defenses. I think it's attack is high enough that I'm better going with a Jolly nature than an Adamant one to help make sure I can get the first strike. Close Combat is to go-to wreck-stuff-up STAB, and I feel like it's very important to have that level of power when I'm focusing purely on offense. On the flip side, using CC makes it make all the more sense not to invest in the defensive stats I'd just end up lowering anyway. Zen Headbutt for a strong second STAB. Knock Off is there for dealing with Psychic types that resist both STABs. In the last slot, I'm debating between Ice and Drain Punch. Ice Punch could be useful for anything flying that one of the STABs isn't neutral against or that isn't weak to Knock Off... which off the top of my head is really only Bugs. It does get x4 effectiveness against numerous things though too, which is why I'm inclined to pick it. Drain Punch on the other hand could be useful as a STAB healing move, but kind-of the point of the set is to hit hard and fast so there's no need to heal/be defensive. There could still be situations where being able to heal is useful, but does it outweigh the use of Ice Punch? |

Smogon recommends Ice Punch in every set. It hits three more types super effectively than Fire Punch, including ground (which hits Aggron x4 and you don't have Sturdy) Ice Punch hits both mentioned threats neutrally, but the coverage is arguably more helpful and it might freeze. Copied Smogon Gallade Set: Gallade @ Galladeite Ability: Justified EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Close Combat/Drain Punch - Knock Off/Zen Headbutt - Substitute/Taunt/Zen Headbutt Mega Gallade puts its blade arms to use with this set by way of Swords Dance, which boosts its Attack to sky-high levels. The Fighting-type STAB attack of choice is a matter of power vs longevity; Close Combat absolutely shreds the opposition with brute force, while Drain Punch is not as strong but provides Mega Gallade with much needed recovery. Knock Off provides excellent coverage alongside Fighting and is also useful for removing items from its targets. Zen Headbutt is an alternative secondary STAB option that knocks Fighting- and Poison-type foes for a loop. Taunt can be used to prevent setup, hazards, or disruptive moves, while Substitute can provide Mega Gallade a damage shield if used while the active foe is forced to switch and can also work well with Drain Punch. Jolly nature is used so that Mega Gallade has the absolute highest Speed possible. Then the stat spread for M-Gallade is (in case helpful): 68/165/95/65/115/110 |

For the Aggron set, I wouldn't go for Fire Punch and the defensive EVs. Fire Punch is a bad option because Aggron is rather lackluster in OU unless it's a Mega Aggron. And on the top of my head, the only steel type in UU that isn't hit super effectively by EQ is Forretress. And, well, Adamant, max attack Head Smash 2 hit KO's specially defensive Forretress, whilst physically defensive Forretress is almost always 2 hit KO'd if you have triple lair of spikes, even if it has leftovers. If you don't have triple spikes, it's still a guaranteed 3 hit KO. Fire Punch will speed up the process, but that's not really needed, seeing as Forretress cannot do ANYTHING to an Aggron. If you want a Head Smash spamming Aggron, I recommend using something like this: Aggron @ Leftovers/Life Orb Adamant 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe - Head Smash - Iron Head/Heavy Slam - Earthquake - Automotize/Rock Polish With this set, you can speed up, and then just go ham. If you really want to use Fire Punch, though, go with the move set you posted, ditch the speed EVs and slap on a good ol' Choice Band. Edit: I did some more calcs, Life Orb, Adamant, max attack Aggron's Head Smash will 2 hit KO EVERY type of Forretress, even the max HP, max defense (With a defense boosting nature) variety. Edit 2: IN has a point. The coverage from Ice Punch is invaluable. You probably want to use Ice Punch over a Steel type move if you're running the sweeper set, or use Ice Punch over Fire Punch with the CB set. |
