Surprisingly, I've lost favor in Basurao. I think I might use Mamanbou instead. Or maybe the nipple toad... |

YES. JOIN OUR SIDE KINGCOBRASAURUS!!! :ph43r: If you don't really have any interest over the Archaeopteryx, might I suggest Abagoura? Or perhaps Swana? |

I still like Basurao. I just think that its options are really limited. The only thing that it can really do is rip holes in opponents with its overpowered Waterfall. Besides, Porygon-Z is better for using Adaptability, with its 300-base power Hyper Beam. I think I might choose that Polar Bear. It can learn the water HMs. I'm keeping the Archaeopteryx no matter what, but Swana will be in the team in Gray. Or maybe Black, if I end up getting it. |

I too am stuck on the archaopteryx, for in White anyways. In Black, I'm considering Wargles' opposite, or maybe Swana, though I haven't looked at it much. And I've also looked at the polar bear, and again, I might use it in Black, but not in White, since I'll have my starter for water and ice moves. EDIT: Got my team planed for White. Daikenki Torrent Surf, Megahorn, Ice Beam, Dragon Tail? Archeos Faint Heart Fly, Dragon Claw, Agility?, ??? Waruvial Intimidate/Overconfidence(Still deciding) Earthquake, Crunch/Trickery, AnkleSweep/FoucusBlast, ??? Zeburaika Motor Drive NitroCharge, WildBolt/Thunderbolt, ThunderWave, Agility/Pursuit, OR Denchura Compoundeyes Thunder, EnergyBall/Agility, BugBuzz, Sucker Punch/Agility, Shandera FlashFire Psychic?, Purgatory, NightShade/ShadowBall, Minimize?, Mebukijika Herbivore JumpKick, Woodhorn, Wildbolt?, Charm/Toxic?, ???=Undecided move slot. ?=Still debating... Lightning type choices are limited so It's eithre Zeburaika, or Denchura. Zeburaika is a nice solid electric type, and I like its ability. However, the combination of Denchuras' Compoundeyes and Thunder is tempting... Shandera, well, I have limited fire type options. I could chose between this guy, the monkey, or the daruma(Sp?). The monkey will hold my fire type spot until I can get this guy, but overall the monkeys don't impress me beyond early-game use. As for my other choice, I considered it, but decided to pass. And finally Mebukijika. First of all, the idea of using it apealed to me from the point of its seasonal forms, but looking at it closer, it acctually isn't all that bad battle wise. So now I have nothing much to do but wait til spring. Speaking of which, if they come out in North America in March, anyone who gets then right away will start with the in-game season being Fall. Just when winter is ending, we get to experiance it in a game. T_T >.< |

You're going to have to worry quite a bit about HMs. Unless that's the team that you have planned for the Battle Subway and not ingame. And...what? The Polar Bear can learn surf and dive, but not Waterfall? DISAPPOINT It's almost as if GF wants us to spam our water HMs on a HM slave... |

Well, having HMs at all means they want us to have HM slaves. I wasn't catching anything but my teams in SS, but now, aside from that, I have HMWHORE, HMWHORE2, & HMWHORE3; Respectively, Tentacool (Surf, Whirlpool, Waterfall, Cut), Geodude (Strength, Rock Smash, & Rock Climb), & Pidgey (Fly). They just arn't useful in most cases. Teaching a permanant member of your team one of them is along the lines of catching a Magikarp, evolving it to Gyarados, & keeping Splash the whole time. |

It's a combination of both, in a way. That is my ideal team for battling the E4/postmainplot, which I will work on constructing over the course of the game. I will have some temporary members on my team, which will probably end up with some HMs on them. Anyways I've got it planed out. Also, I find that surprising, as to me it would make more sense in some ways that it would be able to learn waterfall but not dive. I mean, I can see a polar bear swimming, but I fail to see it swimming deep underwater. |

What makes people not like the fully-evolved polar bear? It looks like it's still serious while giving you a hug. I have to admit, the basic stage makes me go "DAW CUTE." And as for my team... Jaroda (name undecided) Moves undecided Abagoura (Chelon?) Surf, AncientPower, Ice Beam, ??? Washibon/Wargle (Washibo, Chocobo; Zephyroth, Gilgamesh/Girugamesh) Moves undecided That's pretty much all I have confirmed. I can't wait for the third versio to come out. On purpose, I'm gonna try to go through the game using Mijumaru's second evo (Futachimaru or something) without evolving it into Daikenki. Sounds like a pretty cool idea, right? |

HM Slaves can be good. My Golduck in Platinum is one of my best fighters, and knows three HMs, and my Game-breaker Swampert knows two Rock Smash and cut are wastes, though. Defog isn't, surprisingly. Very good for Reflect/Light Screen spammers |

Hehe, thought of a cool Double Battle strategy involving Drifblim and Yanakkie... Yanakkie should have powerful physical moves (Acrobat is the only move you MUST have though) and hold a Persim Berry. Drifblim should have the moves Swagger and Skill Swap. It's ability MUST be Unburden. Use Skill Swap to switch Yanakkie's and Drifblim's abilities. Yanakkie should have Unburden as its ability now. Then, have Drifblim use Swagger on Yanakkie. Yanakkie will gain the Attack, but not be confused thanks to its Persim Berry. Because the Persim Berry has been used, Unburden activates and doubles Yanakkie's Speed. And since Yanakkie no longer holds an item, Acrobat will deal more damage, plus the Attack boost from Swagger. In short, a strategy based on a Gigatitan strategy makes ultra win when you change some things and replace Regi with Yanakkie. |

I find that teaching one HM and spreading them across your whole team rather than focusing them all one one or two helps. It's better to have only one weak move on each team member, saving up three other slots for strong moves, than to use up a whole slot for a useless team member with all weak moves. Besides, most HMs are actually pretty strong, aside from Cut. They finally had the sense to take away Rock Smash, and lift up the curse that was Defog. What I don't understand, however, is Waterfall. Sure, it's a strong move, but what use is waterfall aside from climbing a single one just to get to the League, and perhaps a few others in certain routes? Never really was a good idea, IMO. |

Where did I say replacing a perfectly good spot on a team with an HM whore was a good idea? I have 3 poke's all exclusively used as such, but they arn't team members, they're just things I have carry me around or break $#!+ when it's needed before going back to be bullied by my new Deoxys & Darkrai. |

@ZD: Oh, I do like the bear, and I may use it. And with that idea in mind, I think that since I'll be trading the grass starter over from black to white before I start playing black for real, I think I then trade the grass starter back over to black to go along side my Pokabu. The in the third game I'll use Pokabu as well, but will not evolve it at all. @ZD2: Epicwin. Also, having seen there are only 6 HMs, I'm not even slightly worried about having trouble with HMs. I also read something I liked even more, which is reuseable TMs that don't burn out after using them! |

I heard about that too. Game Freak is really spoiling us these days... Like when Platinum and HGSS came out, we were able to catch half of all the National Pokedex's legendaries. Not only that, but we got the legendary birds available in both Platinum AND HGSS. You have a point about the HMs. I should be grateful that there's no DeFog or Rock Climb this time around. Still, 3 water HMs is a real handicap... Meh, I'll just teach all 3 of them to my Mamanbou regardless. It can't learn any really good moves besides Aqua Ring and Wake Up Slap, anyway. Team's gonna be: Jaroda Archaeos Zebraika Nattorei/Crimgan/Pendoraa (Seriously. A crashed UFO, a gargoyle dragon or a centipede that roars like a Hollywood monster? Choosing between the three will be the biggest decision of my life...) Mamanbou Oobemu/Ranculus |
