I'll be buying the HeartGold version when it comes out! I haven't thought of what my entire team will be, but I know I'll start out with Feraligatr so that I can have that along with what will be my Charizard in FireRed and what will be my Sceptile in Emerald. I also want to make sure I have a Fire-type and a Grass-type to balance with my Water-type, and from there I want to get Pokemon that are or can learn moves of these types:Fighting Ice Ground Dark Flying I like to use the more menacing and intimidating Pokemon (for example: Yanmega, Lucario, and Garchomp; and on Garchomp's note, I was very glad that Gabites were in Platinum's Victory Road) |

Let's see, Murkrow would have dark and flying. Tyranitar, if you want to go that route, would give you dark too, as well as ground, and fighting. For ice types or pokemon that can use ice type moves... I'm preety sure that there are tutors in the Johto battle frontier that teach the elemental punches, meaning that, over time, a macoke/machamp, or electabuzz might work, and giv you some fighting attribute at the same time. Don't forget Crobat, of course, for the flying and dark moves. As for the Fire and Grass type, fi you're going for the more evil/sinister pokemon, Houndoom, like you suggested for me, would give you fire, and the dark your also looking for. As for the grass type, It depends if you want the sinister appearance more than a good move set. Over all, I'd say grass-types all had sucky varatiey in moves prior to some in the third, and now the fourth gen. I think Tangrowth is best for the move varaitey, but Victreybell is more evil-looking. Also on the note that you're getting HG, I plan to get Soul Silver, though I've said that a thousand times. |

Well, I would choose Feraligatr Ariados (It learns Spiderweb and Psychic. Perfect legendary catcher.) Pidgeot Ampharos Haunter Fire type. Preferably Houndoom or Magcargo. (It's a snail. That breathes fire. Awesome.) |

If you're going for a ghost type, you can't go wrong with the Gaslty line. Gengar kicks arse, I don't care who you are. I know Delibird or Swinub aren't very frightening, but I'd suggest either for an ice type. One, because Swinub evolves into Mammoswine, and two, Delibird is full of win. I'd suggest the best grass-type of all time, but they aren't so much evil looking. More cuddly than anything. I would also suggest Noctowl. He'll be on my team for sure. Flying and psychic. Lessee...My Blue team. (Keep in mind that I was like 9 and picked them because they looked cool, rather then what they could do. And please forgive my 9 year old naming technique.) Mewtwo - Winner lvl: 70 Blastoise - Tiny lvl: 77 Articuno - Freezer lvl: 52 Snorlax - Snore lvl: 34 Rhydon - Driller lvl: 53 Exeggutor - Tree lvl: 25 Hmm. Looking back I see that I didn't stick with training. Ah well. |

@Saidi: Ah, don't forget that, I think, you can get Tangrowth pre-Nat. Dex, and from what I've seen it has a fairly good range of moves. Mind you, you the only place you can find Tanglea is near victory road and pallet town, only one of which you might be able to get to before the elite four. With that in mind, perhaps I should just try trading one over from my other games. @KP: 1: Yeah, If I happen to get both versions for some reason, I may take the time to try using 'em. But Saidi is right, in appearance, Haunter is epic win. 2: Yep, defeat your foes with the gift of frendship and over priced magazine subscriptions. XD 3: You don't mean Jumpluff, do you? 4: Ah yes, another pokemon I may use if I happened to get both versions... 5: KP, trust me when I say you do NOT want to know what my original team on Pearl was...it was just...horid. I had my starter, Infernape, which was my best pokemon along with my Palkia, but after that I had a Gravler, a Floatzel, a Chatot, and one other I can't remember. And that was the team I used against the elite four, and, eventually, managed to somehow win, just to be frustrated for a while finishing my regional dex so I could get the Nat. Dex. >.< |

Debatable. It's because Gengar has feet, I know. But try going up against my level 65 Gengar, Gustav, and try telling me that Haunter is cooler. Can't do it.
Hey, don't you be dissin' Delibird. Present can be deadly. Or very helpful. Whichever.
