1) I enjoy Muk. He's on my team whenever I manage to snag one. He does not, however, have anything to do with Charizard or the fact that Blastoise ain't got no love.

>Implying that the Poli family reminds everyone of frogs. Don't get me wrong here either, Ploiwrath is always on my team too, but let's be honest. They remind me of being hypnotized more than they do frogs.

1: Made even more funny when you consider the fact that there are undoubtedly people who have hopes of the new froggy being a hypnotoad.

1.MUK: Okay, here's the problem with those attacks. Gunk Shot gets STAB, is physical, and is strong, but, it's Poison-type, and has low PP (and possibly low accuracy too, but I can't recall for certain). Flamethrower is a Sp. attack, which is Muks' lower attack stat. Brick Break is good... until you run into a Ghost-type, that is. What I recommend is Fire Punch, which Muk can learn via tutor. It has the advantages of Flamethrower, but is a Physical.

Now as for Acid Armor, it's certainly a viable option that is easily available. However, my preference is Curse. Muks' Sp. Defence is, at base, higher than its normal Defence. It takes a little longer to max-out with it, but in the end you've got a shell of a punch and a wall going, merely at the cost of Speed (which at that point is hardly relevant anyway). On one hand it does leave you open to generally special Psychic attacks, true. Alternatively, though, Ground type attacks are typically physical, making it a toss-up in that regard.

3.1: Tell me about it. Ever since training a Tyrannitar, and already having a Garchomp and Archeops, I've trained a good few Steel, Rock, and Ground types to go with it.

1: I found Hynpfroakie & Hypno-seismotoad, but no Polis or Croagunk/Toxicroaks.

1.M: Gunk Shot's accuracy isn't perfect, but it's not horrible. True, the PP & typing are both liabilities, but with STAB & PP Ups, you get a monstrosity that can none-the-less one-shot an entire team short of resistances & steel types. I actually didn't realize that Muk learned Fire Punch, so there you go. Brick Break is perfectly viable because it also gives a way to get around the resistant Rock types, not just Steel.

Acid Armor Vs. Curse is entirely play style. You like buffing your attack in addition to speed, while my Muk is a straight-up tank whose spectacular Attack IVs mean it can still murder relentlessly. Plus I never use it against Psychic types, which is what my Ghost type, Dark type, Bug type, & X-scissor Excadrill are all for.

3.1: Archeops is one of the Pokemon I badly need to train. I wasn't terribly fond of them when Gen V came out, but I've grown to like both the fossils in the time since.

1: Internet, you have failed us. :fistshake:

1.M: True indeed, I suppose, on all accounts.

3.1: It is awesome, but as should be obvious, its fairly fragile. Sandstorm does help with that problem a little bit, though.

Ah, yes, Rampardos. I'm currently debating mostly between it, Scrafty, Breloom, and Rapidash as to what I train next. Or maybe a Kingdra. Or a Milotic. Or... Gah! So many choices! :fistshake:

Either ability is fine really, depending on what you want out of it (& if you are either doing it for a Rain team or, if not, if you are willing to use a moveslot for rain anyway)
And considering how little physical moves they learn, choosing a nature isn't really difficult. Just get a Modest Horsea, give it an everstone, then worry about the ability (& IVs if you're one of those guys).

Although, considering it's to represent Conquest in my team, Modest isn't a very fitting personality type :fistshake:

I'm still sort of debating which ability I'm going for, actually. If I decide on Swift Swim and give it Rain Dance it would make a nice partner for my Galvantula, or if I got something suitable with Hurricane. On the other hand, I'm not at all opposed to the power of a Sniper/Focus Energy combo.

Meh, screw it, I'll probably just get both, then train one now and one later.

On the note of Hurricane, Whimsicott is a stupidly good 'mon from what I've heard. Enough so that a pre-schooler with Cottonee was OFS's biggest challenge up until about the 2nd gym. This is a guy who bends the game over for fun, & prides himself on being part of the reason Excadrill was banned, who found a 4-year old with a ball of cotton more difficult than a gym leader.

Oh Kronos, yes.

I had somehow forgotten about it, but now that you mention it, I'll be training one after Kingdra. If I recall, they are not only fast, but defensive walls, not to mention their Prankster ability. One thing that also serves to help their cause is Cotton Guard, which ups defense by three stages.
