Name (of creature): Mii (Nationality: Miijiyan) (Pronounced: Mee) somnium comedentis Size Type: Fine Height: 8 inches Length: 1 foot Weight: 750 grams Swarm Size: 900 Base DNA: Mei, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Proompsognathus (JP), Compsognathus (JP), Forrest dragon, mouse, African Grey Parrot, Rhesus Macaque Monkey, crow. Abilities: Miijiyans are sentient and live in underground ‘cities’. They make relatively crude stone daggers, but they also have good aim and throw jagged rocks. These are used with aid of the opposable thumb located on each hand. Within their hollow bodies, they have an organ very similar to an adapted dragon flight bladder. These creatures never could breathe fire however. The pouch serves a much more subtle purpose. These pouches create a gaseous form of the hormone Melatonin. These bladders can contain enough of this noxious gas to make a full grown man of average size fall asleep within three to seven minutes. This sleep is similar to natural sleep and different individuals will wake up at different intervals depending on how much of the gas they are exposed to and how they sleep (i.e. a heavy sleeper or an insomniac). These gasses also tend to cause hallucinations in weaker minded opponents. Miijiyans themselves are unaffected by this gas due to large amounts of nasal hair that captures the chemical and extracts it through the body via sweat. These hairs even protect them from the effects of pheromones that are not produced within their own body. The mind of the sleeping victim also produces electricity in levels higher than normal. Very fine feathers along Miijiyans’s bodies help provide energy equivalent to a burst of caffeine by channeling the mental electricity of the victim into their own bodies. These little critters can run up to 13 miles per hour and can climb very well. Their long tails grant great balance. Their eyes are extremely keen and can easily pierce the night time darkness that they surface in. Their saliva has a foam-like structure and has a high concentration of Serotonin; which can trigger an allergic reaction. Their venom has a mild narcotic effect, and it slowly shuts down the enemy's bodily functions. When battling without the aid of their Melatonin breath, the leader confronts the enemy head-on (by chattering and being a distraction) while the rest of the group sneaks up and attacks from behind. Weaknesses: Miijiyans are very small and hollow boned so they can easily be smashed and their bones break easily. They are small and although relatively average at swimming, a current of any sort is usually enough to drag the small animals to a stranding (rivers are a huge hazard) or even drowning. Although they can grip onto objects very well, strong gusts of wind are enough to lift the small animals and carry them for long distances due to their size and hollow bones. Although very vicious when combating small (up to 15 feet) creatures, they become horribly frightened and confused when fighting any animals larger than about fifteen feet, seeing that their minds tend to label such creatures as natural disasters as opposed to actual enemies. Their eyes are easily blinded by bright lights. Loud noises bother them as well. Miijiyans have a bad sense of smell due to the hairs that provide ‘external’ pheromone protection. Their bite force is weak. There have been rare reports of individuals from multiple species that are resistant to the chemical gas. However, those individuals are still affected by hallucinations. Fire is very dangerous and most cuts can cause them to bleed to death, their small bodies being incapable of sustaining such wounds. Smoke can usually suffocate them. Being dropped from high altitude is fatal. Frequent flashes of light tend to cause seizures. Tend to receive internal damage when pounded. (Daylight is not included amongst bright light, but they prefer night.) Defenses: Miijiyans travel in battalions of about nine hundred. They are experts at using throwing weapons like rocks and stone daggers and they also make strategies that typically involve overwhelming opponents at night. Special Attributes: Regaining energy from sleeping opponents, putting opponents to sleep, throwing sharp projectiles of stone. They are sentient and can quickly learn from mistakes. Miijiyans are as swift and silent as ninjas. Poisonous. Description: Miijiyans are small green dinosaurs that have long necks and stiff tails that can be bent straight up or held straight out behind. They walk on their hind legs and have somewhat shorter arms; however, each bears five digits, amongst them, an opposable thumb. The feet are black and Miijiyans also have thin black stripes that start at the spine and go halfway down the body. These start at the base of the head and eventually form rings circling the tail. Their undersides are a pale off-white. The upper sides are light green and blend in with most plants, the black stripes mimicking the shadows of branches and plant tendrils. They also have a light covering of feathers of the same color. LOGI Info: Miijiyans are small sentient beings that inhabit tropical and cloud forests. In the rainforest, they can be seen prowling in the branches of trees and along the ground in small scouting units that hunt food and bring back materials. These scout groups, called kuungyin, are trained to flee from danger. They are trained to flee and if the foe seems like a threat to the hidden underground cities or to the resources of the areas, they disperse and bring attention to the war battalions. These battalions, called Dyjuu, are groups of nine hundred. There are multiple ranks within these infantry units including (but not limited to) battlefield medics (being that most injuries sustained in battle are fatal, these are really just here to comfort the dying patients), scouts, throwers (Who strike from long distances), slashers (Who attack with daggers), and smokers (Who solely deploy sleeping gas during diurnal battles. This concept is obsolete during night time battles, in which all use their melatonin breath). However, the Miijiyans are not a warlike people and prefer democracy and peace over conquest and war. They observe new species for long periods of time before attacking and if convinced that they are not threats, they will leave them in peace. Miijiyans are incredibly curious of new cultures. They will often search out other sentient races, exploring far and wide to find them (well, as far as they can get without running into cliffs and rivers). When this happens, they will collect gifts ranging from fruit and odd colored stones to empty film canisters and plastic bags that wash up on the shores of rivers and anything in between. These gifts are presented to the other sentients and communication will begin. Miijiyans are a slightly primitive people in search of knowledge. They want to learn all about the history and religion of the other nations. If communication, gifting, and aid is rejected or not taken in a good manner, they will depart and leave this species alone, unless if the life of an individual was lost in the attempts to communicate. If that happens because of the other species, hostility will be displayed and if the habits persist, war will be declared. Other: So this will cost 800 credits, right? Anything I need to explain even more? |

That's gotta be one of the most in-depth, thought-out creatures on the site. Definitely deserving of a bravo. *insert round of applause here* That said, I believe you forgot the group number. |

Indeed, very detailed. However, there are some problems. First of all, like Clocky said, you forgot to add the number of how many are in the swarm. Second, the base DNA doesn't provide much for them to get their intelligence from. Third, on the note of intelligence, I'm thinking they're probably above what we allow for intelligence. Normally the most we allow is more of a "tribal" level of intelligence/nothing more than stick and stone weapons such as spears, clubs. arrows, primitive stone axes, ect. Metal working for sure is well beyond that. The clothes are also potentially questionable. That's what I can see, but because I'm still stuck on my phone and there's a lot of text it is very possible that I have missed some things. As such you'll need to wait for Kingpin to look at it as well and give his opinion. |

The chompers understand the concept of "find gun, point, pull trigger". They don't actually manufacture their own firearms; there is a huge difference. Of course, that said, there's also a huge difference between manufacturing firearms & crude metallurgy. |

Yes, no other animal uses words they learn to communicate, and they can count quite high. They're followed by corvids, then dolphins, then chimps and bonobos, then orangs, then elephants, then pigs, then octopodes and squid, and something else. |

No, Flish. He's clearly referring to how they are not the SECOND most intelligent animal, but the FIRST, since mankind is clearly unfit to be considered "intelligent" in any form. :lol: |

I'm not sure, but I think that's because other creatures don't have the mouths to commmunicate human words. That said I don't think there is really an official consensus on the most intelligent animal. |

Parrots decide to stay together, sometimes they split and get new mates, but they, like humans, will pick if they want to keep a mate or not, a clear sign of intelligence. Plus no animal even makes an attempt at language like a parrot does, apes only use commands like "Water" or "food" but parrots can have conversations and give answers. |

@CW; Thank you, I appreciate it. @DF:
1.) 600, sorry.
2.) Like WF said, parrots are very intelligent. I’ll throw in a African Grey Parrot for added intelligence and a Rhesus Macaque Monkey to explain how Compsognathus’s fifth digit became opposable as well as for minor intelligence update.
3.) Essentially, the most common basic dagger would be of sharpened stone attached to a stick. Only the most prestigious generals would have an iron dagger, and it would mostly be for show and kept in the ‘cities’. These cities are similar to a prairie dog town, but with all the tunnels leading to a main chamber. Housing within the city is holes burrowed into the walls. These would consist of one room, with a nest made of feathers, fur, and foliage. Back to the weapons though. As said before, daggers are like arrows but they are shorter and don’t have the thing on the back. The metal used to make the shuriken-like objects is hematite, an iron oxide. The Khormusans of Egypt during 3,500 BC and the people of Sumer around 4000 BC made metal objects including weapons made of this oxide. The throwing objects made by the Mii look like this: |
