Name: Pidganha Size of Flock: 1,000 Height: 5 inches Length: 1 foot Wingspan 2 feet, although it flies with its' wings slightly furled, so more of 8 inches. Weight: 1 pound Base DNA: Pure white pigeon, Red-Bellied Piranha, Hoatzin Abilities: Swarm, claws can inflict slight wounds, tearing teeth, incredible sense of sight and smell, speed and agility, flight of up to forty MPH. Weaknesses: Windows, meat just lying around will make them land and devour it, small, highly aggressive, sometimes so much so that they will kill each other in quick bouts of annoyance. Then the entire swarm will devour the wounded or dead individual. Defences: Fast flight, swarm, incredible sense of smell. Special Attributes: The Pidganha can walk on two legs, or crawl with the claws on its’ wings. Using this, they can also cling to walls. Instead of a regular beak, the Pidganha has a slightly fleshy beak, with a few muscles that can curl the ‘lips’ out of the way for shearing with its’ teeth. Description: A regular pigeon at first glance, the only eye-catcher is that it’s white. But then you’d notice its’ red belly, its’ gleaming red eyes, the claws on its’ wings, and the way it snarls at you. You’d have probably begun to run around then. With extra long wings, it can be seen clinging to a wall, or running on all fours. ![]() LOGI Info: On Genome Island, these dangerous beasts live in the forests, perching on trees in wait for a prey animal. They aren’t very vocal, usually cooing or snarling to each other. When distressed, they will make a ‘Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm,’ sound, and the flock will come to find out what has distressed it. They will then eat the distressed one if it has been wounded, or launch into an attack of what has distressed it, unless it happens to be a fallen tree, or something akin to that. Pidganha mate for life, and usually lays two eggs per clutch. They can have up to seven clutches over the mating season. Once they are hatched, baby Pidganhas are blind, featherless, and helpless. The parent will feed them ‘milk’, which is actually blood secretions from their throat, a lot like regular pigeons’ milk. After a week, they have pin-feathers, have opened their eyes, grown their teeth, and stop feeding on the ‘milk’. Instead, they tear apart the pieces of meat that their parents bring back. After they are two weeks old, their mother lays another clutch of eggs, which take the regular 18 days to incubate. After four weeks, the Pidganhas can leave the nest, and four days afterwards, the mother hatches out a new set of eggs. These beasts can hunt almost anything they want to. They can be seen flying above Genome, wings slightly furled, moving in a huge flock, tossing and turning in a wavelike motion. They stay grouped like this using three simple rules. 1: When another one of its’ kind is closer than a full body length, it’s to close, move away. 2: If another moves farther away than 3 full body lengths away, its’ too far, get closer. And 3: Fly roughly parallel to the one beside you. Therefore, they want to get closer to their neighbours from the second rule, but their neighbours are repelled by the first rule. In that, each member of the group is a follower, and the entire group is the leader, making for the wavelike motion. But those rules only apply when flying in the school. When they are attacking, they scatter, exploding like a bomb and honing in on one spot of the creature, ‘bouncing’ off them and tearing a small amount of flesh off. When this is escalated to such a high concentration of 1,000 Pidganha all focussing on the same spot, it leads to a devastating effect. When on the ground, they follow the rules of flying, but to less extent. Some will wander away from the main group, but when the group takes off, everyone takes off, even the ones who wandered off. When roosting, they huddle together, completely ignoring rule 1, and focusing more on rule 2. Rule 3 is a slight factor that keeps them from crushing each other. Other: Yes, I like to write about my critters. Why do you ask? |

The swarm number needs to be exact, and the description is supposed to just be a description of what it looks like. A good portion of what you have in it belongs in the LOGI section. |

You might as well ask why all my features are at least partially made from Archosaur DNA. In fact, my next two creatures will ALSO be partially made out of Archosaur DNA. |
