Name: Waterunner

Height: 10 feet

Length: 30 feet

Weight: 2,500 pounds, although it is a lo lighter because of the methane in its air sacks.

Base DNA: Green Iguana, Basilisk Lizard, Carp, Allosaurus, Axolotl, Bamboo, Frog

Abilities: Extreme jumping ability (15 feet up, 40 across) from weight, powerful bite, good swimmer, dangerous claws, whip-like tail, running on water, breathing both underwater and on land, methane ‘burp’ that can drive away an enemy, super-strong hind legs.

Weaknesses: Methane makes it very light and easily thrown or knocked over with little effort, can’t turn well once running on water, many blood vessels in the base of the arms, needs to eat to regain methane.

Defences: Incredible stamina, allowing them to run on water. Swimming/running away, slashing with claws

Special Attributes: This massive monster has huge air sacs filled with methane which help them stay almost weightless. They also sport an interesting ability of running on water. Because they are so light, they can transition from land to water easily, and can run about ten miles out into the water using large fringes on its’ toes that create pockets of air, before becoming tired, its’ legs slowing to the point where it sinks down under the water to swim with its’ powerful tail, iguana style. Before doing so, however, they must ‘burp’ out methane to the point of their air bladders being near empty. Then they dive underwater. They can also fill them with a small amount of water as ballast, by sucking it in through their mouths. It can also regenerate limbs over a short period of time, around a day.

Description: A super-thin Allosaurus with massively wide feet, so large that it needs to make a hop of two feet to run on land. It has three sails, one that runs from the middle to the end of its’ tail, one running down its’ back, and one large crest on its’ head. It has a set of gills on its’ neck, that can stay shut, allowing it to breathe above and below water. It also has lungs (obviously). It can either be seen chasing down prey animals, or running across a lake.

LOGI Info: This is a very strange monster, as it is the largest tree-climbing, water-walking theropod known. It has a diet of fruit, birds, small and medium sized mammals, fish, large frogs, and when times are tough, nuts and leaves. Ironically, its’ favourite food is Basilisk Lizards, which is around 60% of its’ DNA. It climbs trees using its’ long arms and legs, and can leap from tree to tree, catching birds and bats right out of the air. It can also run along land like a regular theropod, chasing down deer and tapir. It is very fast too, normally running at 30 MPH. It can also do one of the most amazing tricks of any animal; running on water at 60 mph. It runs differently on the water than on land. On land, it walks and runs like a raptor would, being so light. On the water, its’ arms go to its’ sides, and its’ legs splay to either side, feet pushing as it runs on water, running exactly like a Basilisk Lizard. There are many factors for this, one of which is that they have a very, very fast foot speed. Another is their incredibly light weight, and the methane that gives them that extra bounce, They also have toe fringes that allow them to trap bubbles, which also help them to run on water. It swims using its’ tail only, front limbs plastered to the side and hind legs drifting in the water. When it needs more methane to fill its’ air bladders, it usually eats fallen fruit or fish, which quickly regenerates its’ methane. When it does ‘burp’, it becomes much heavier, weighing in at 500 pounds. At this stage they can barely walk, cannot run on the water, or climb trees, so it only does it as a last resort, getting to the water as fast as possible.

A Female Waterunner usually lays 4-5 eggs in a current. The babies are limbless and finless, and look like long eels with an Allosaurus head. They feed on small fish and crustaceans. Then, as they grow older, about half a year in age, their sails begin to grow, along with their hind legs. At around two years, they have fully grown sails and legs, and can crawl onto land.

Other: Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is the largest animal that can walk on water, possibly the only animal on Genome who uses it at all.

Haven't noticed this thing yet.

SD, don't you think you have pushed the boundaries of realism a bit to far? Sure a Basilask can run across water, but it's less than a foot long. Sure a Flee can jump extremely high and far, but it doesn't even weigh a pound. At such size, jumping 10 feet across would be impressive. Methane and air pockets or not, nothing that size is going to jump more than 50 feet across. Sure Frogs are well designed to jump, but at certain sizes, certain adaptations won't be able to serve their purpose anymore.

Plus, looking at the picture, I don't see any strong legs. A Frog's legs are longer than the rest of it's body, and very bulky.

@Walking on water: Already been down that road in the G. Lab topic. It's all about weight distribution, not just size, is the long story short

@Jumping: How I missed that I'm not sure, but seeing it now I'd have to say that's definitely pushing it a bit.

Alright then, can you maybe shorten it down to maybe 15 feet up and 40 feet across?
