Name: Hytrasaurus Height: 7'2" (when stretching its neck) Length: 36 ft. Weight: 1 ton (could use some suggestions on weight) Base DNA: Saltasaurus, Cockroach,two-headed cobra, bamboo, axoltl , Snow Leopard, Megalosaurus, Saltopus, Triceratops, Euplocephalous, Chicken, Gecko, Skink, Starfish Its going to take all of these, and then maybe some more 'regenerators' just to possibly bring back one head! Ai-yai-yai! Abilities: Hytrasaurus has two heads. Both mouths can spray acid, at roughly twenty feet in front of them, or they can shoot a more focused beam at a maxium range of 5 feet. It's legs are that of a Megalosaurus, and it can sprint short distance, but not openly run fast, and never over uneven terrain. Both/ all heads have a small horn located above the nose, similar to that of a Triceratops. Both necks are fairly flexible, and could be used for constriction of prey, but usually aren't. Megalo teeth line it's jaws. So where's the snow leopard? Everything but the heads (Saltasaurus), arms (Saltopus), and legs (Megalosaurus) are covered in short, thick hair that reduces a bit of damage, because the hairs grow close together. What it's most useful for is repelling water and cold. Just beneath the fur lies the tough skin of a Euplocephalous. Weaknesses: After mixing its acid in a gland found in the neck, all extra oils are 'sweated' into the fur, making it highly flammable. Also, it's range of sight is very poor. Hytrasaurus can only see that which is directly in front of it, and a little to the sides of its eyes. Anything behind it, or to its immediate left or right, goes unseen to this predator. Finally, while regrowing a head, it becomes sluggish and it's reflex become less attuned. It's lucky if it catches any prey during that time period of regrowth. It becomes surlier and more aggressive when one-headed. Defenses: I feel I covered this category certain well in abilities, but nonetheless: -acidic spray -horn on head -whiplike tail -flexible necks -sharp teeth and claws, though its arms are short -short, thick fur that helps prevent a little damage and repels water -head regrowth -okay intelligence, due to double brain -Euplocephalous armor beneath fur -quick scabbing to prevent major bloodloss Special Abilties: Can shoot a focused spray of acid 5 feet, or a random squirt twenty.(feet, that is) Its two necks can constrict, and its two heads can regrow, though it takes between 24 and 72 hours. However, immediately after losing the head, the blood at the base of the neck clogs, forming a large scab, preventing Hytrasaurus from bleeding to death. Usually, the scab only fully disappears after te head has been grown back for several days. While most of the body scabs fast to prevent bleeding, its swiftest at the neck. Thanks to the Cockroach DNA, and the second head, it can still function, though see Weaknesses for more on that. Also, because two heads are better than one, this creatures intelligence is fair. Describe: Saltasaurus head with Triceratops horn above the nose, and can spray cobra poison. There are two necks, each ending in a seperate head. Short, thick, grayish-white fur starts growing just behind the head, and covers most of therapod-like body. It's tiny Saltopus arms are good for short range attacks, but not much beyond that. It's long, Megalosaurid legs are good for short bursts of speed, but this beast prefers to meander along. It's tail also comes from Saltasaurus, and while it can be used to attack, it mostly is held out straight, to prevent overbalancing. Also, because of how close together the fur grows, and from its thickness, this creature is well suited for the cold. LOGI Info: (I'm drawing a blank as to what this means, but I'll take a stab at it) Hytrasaurus mate for life, and will only leave their mates side if it is to set up an ambush. Hytrasaurus are most content in a forest setting, or a flat plain, but aren't extremely picky about their terrain, as long as its fairly flat. During mating season, the male will impregnate the female, then spend nearly two months hunting nearby, to bring her food. The female will eventually birth 1-4 young. The adults will stay with these for one week, bring them food until they can walk and hunt for themselves. When the week is up, the parents wander away, leaving the children to fend for themselves. While it will take a month for the younglings acid to fully develop to 'deadly' status, the can usually stun or blind prey by the time their 'parent-week' is up. It will take the young a full year to grow to their full size, but when they do, they begin to search for their own mate to spend their life with. While primarily carnivorous, if hungry, Hytrasaurus will eat berries. Their main prey is small mammals, but they will hunt larger ones, if they think they can take it down. Occasionally, two siblings will stay together, and bring the flock count to four(b/c of their own mates), but usually, it's just pairs seen traveling together. Hytrasaurus are diurnal. So...feedback EDIT: Thanks SD...anything else?Picture |

You could use a two-headed cobra for the double-heads thing, which would also help with the acid, but the regeneration... Honestly, I was thinking of something with that same ability myself, but I think it might be a wee bit overpowered. You could use Bamboo and Axolotl DNA for that, but... I'd say it would still take at least 10-15 minutes to grow back, and then there's the problem with trying to survive without heads, which could- possibly- be solved with either chicken or cockroach DNA, and saying that bundles of nerves go down the vertebra and just past the necks, and can act like a backup brain that keeps the systems going along until the actual heads grow back. It's a theory, and it would have to be approved by the mods, but still. Also, how does fur, even thick, close-together fur, reduce 'a lot of damage'? I mean, I could see how it might, might save it from being clawed of slashed at in a similar manner. But being attacked by something with horns are large teeth? Forget it. I've seen snow leopards, and their fur is thick, yes, but it wouldn't be able to stop much moroe than an attack from another cat. Thagomisers, tusks, horns, the like would easily harm this. What you might want to do, is add the cool chain-mail skin of the giant groound sloths. Look it up. Those are my thoughts. If I got this wrong, then can someone please halp me understand it? Other than that, I don't see much that should be changed. Then again, I'm not a mod, but that's what I see. Really cool creature though. I look forward to challenging it. I would also look forward to chalenging Blitzfish if he ever came *wink wink*. |

Animals with two heads are not genetically mutant. it wouldn't do anything. Not to say it means you can't have an animal with two heads. It just means you can't get it from the DNA. |

No way this can work. 2 heads, sure. Able to regrow them, sure. In 15 minutes, nope. Even with Bamboo DNA, it would take at least 2 days before the head has fully regrowed. And by then, the battle is probably long over. I know that's what SD suggested, but it just won't work. And the thing about "Cut of one, 2 take its place." That won't work either. The Hydra is a Myth for a reason. As far as I know, there's no animal that can regrow a lost head. And even if there was, it wouldn't grow 2 to replace it. And I'm gonna have to agre with SD about the fur part. It might reduce SOME incoming damage. But not much. For that, yo'd need armor or a thick layer of fat. Now that the agreeing with SD part is over, I will have to disagree with him again. As far as I know, Chickens cannot live without their heads for more than 0.05 seconds. As far as I know, the whole "Headless chicken running around" thing is all because of some extreme muscle spasms (Excuse me if that's misspelled. This is the first time I actually have to write the word.). I could be wrong about that though. But the main thing I want to say is that Cockroach DNA will not help surviving without a head. Cockroaches can survive without a heads because they have a second brain in their... Hindquarters. Animals can't live without their head because that's where the brain is. The superpowers of a Cockroach allow it to do many thing, but not live without a brain. In order for this thing to live without a heads, it would need a second brain, which should be under the "special attributes" section. That aside, I don't see anything wrong with it. |

Well, you're right on pretty much everything as far as I can tell, DG, but I have to call you out on saying "Cockroach DNA can't help this at all. By the way, here's how Cockroach DNA can make this feasibly possible." |

1)It's been speculated that Stegosaurus had a second brain lower down. Would that help my case? EDIT: There are two heads. Ergo, there are two brains. 2)Point taken on the fur, I'll make some changes there. 3)Point taken on the regrowth. If already figured that 'two grow back' wouldn't work, I just haven't had time to edit it. |

It's a little of both. It definitely had a secondary nerve cluster to help control its tail, but it's a very, very proto-brain if anything. |

@Clocky: That's not what I meant. I meant to say why Cockroaches can survive without a head. With the right genetic tampering, I think no Cockroach DNA would be required to give it a second brain. @Flish: Interesting. I'll have to look that up. @A-pat1: Well, keep in mind that if you leave it the way it is, it will not be able to survive without a head. A-pat2: No. You cannot make it a pack of 2. It is to large. If you really want to make it a pack creature, it'll need to be 10 feet or less. I know, it's quite restricting, but the rules are the rules. |

Two heads is perfectly allowed, as are most of its abilities. In order for the head regrowing to work, however, it would need the DNA of something that could regenerate very quickly. Don't let me discourage you. This is a fine monster. I could see a few of my own beasts going toe to toe with this guy. |
