LOGI Info: These large herbivores live in deserts, and are constantly on the move. They never stay in one place for long, unless there is enough water and food for them. If they find an oasis, it can be disastrous for the inhabitants, since Dunebacks can drink up to 400 liters per day and eat up 300 kilograms of plants per day. A small group of them can destroy a small oasis in under a week, before moving on, continuing their constant search for food and water. They can survive for up to a month with little or no food or water, since they store fat in their humps, which can be used as an energy source when a Duneback cannot find anything to eat or drink.
Dunebacks can often be seen eating sand, which they store in special organs similar to a dragon’s fire bladders. Small tubes lead from these organs to the holes in a Duneback’s humps. They are able to spray this sand from their humps forcefully enough to create a small sandstorm. Once they sand bladders are empty, the Duneback will blast air from its humps and use its tail and legs to fling sand into the air, keeping the sandstorm going a bit longer.
Dunebacks rest by burying themselves in the sand, with only their head and humps showing above ground. Their coloration helps to camouflage them. If they are attacked by a predator, Dunebacks will create one of their small sandstorms and flee while the predator is blinded, running a short distance and burrowing into the sand to hide. If the predator still manages to find them, they will fight back by crouching low to the ground and swinging their spiked tail at the attacker’s legs.
Dunebacks live solitarily, but can be found in small herds wherever there is water. They have no set mating season, but mate whenever they come across another Duneback of the opposite gender. They usually lay about ten eggs at a time. The mother will stay with her nest, and look after her hatchling for a few weeks until they are big enough to fend for themselves.

I'm sure that there is going to be some hybridisation between the two forms: a new beast, slouching towards us. I'm eagerly looking forward to meeting the beautiful mutant.
