Steam is selling Final Fantasy VII, for $4.03, and I've never actually played it, even though it is one of the defining classics. Is that something I can physically pass up, because I don't think so.

It's like having cancer, and someone walking up to you and saying, "Hey, would you like me and my team of fully competent experienced-doctors to preform a procedure that has been validly proven to cure cancer, that will have no side-effects or long term recovery, and will bump Christmas up a little sooner, but without all the depression, for only $100?"
You just can't say no.

This post pretty sums up my reaction, as well.

As soon as I saw it, I knew I'd get it [unless there was some horrible game-breaking feature that removed all the playing value]; I've frankly been outright embarrassed at times for never playing such a classic game as FF. It's not because I don't like the concept or anything; I'd certainly enjoy playing it, and I'd love to add it to my [rather large, if I dare say so myself] roster of shiz I geek out on.

Ultimately, mostly the problem is that I just never really got around to it. That and that I rarely have much more than a very small amount of money at one time. And, while many came out on Nintendo devices, they overall rather seem to prefer Sony devices. I've personally never owned a Sony device, and -unless I come across a lot of cash all of the sudden- I probably won't come to own one anytime within the immediate future (unless the Playstation Vita version of KanColle has an English version; in which case I'll undoubtedly get one for said reason).

It's got to rule living in a country without communism.

Fixed it Saidi.
AMEEEEEEERICA
I'll be honest, I've never played any FF games. I've honestly never thought about it. It never really seemed like my kind of game.
Is it fun?

Then you haven't heard of Obamacare.

You're right though, it's awesome to have a system that uses hard working people's money to pay for people who don't make money because they refuse to work.
Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with those who cannot care for themselves for legitimate reasons, but as is ours is too easily manipulated and impersonal.

@Alby: I believe the term you're going for is socialism.
I've not actually played it yet, except for chocabo racing on my Uncle's playstation when I was like 7. I've got so many games left over from the summer sale, and I'm trying to go through them one at a time. Otherwise I get distracted, and I couldn't fully enjoy the story.
Its hailed as the most classic video game though. Great story, great game play, and unbelievably good graphics for its time.

1. Socialism. Communism. Same thing.
2. I have 63 games and I haven't touched half of them. Thanks, Steam Summer Sale.
3. Maybe I should try it out then.

Nah man, you don't get it. The hard working people who fund it are the immigrants, and they do't use it because they're terrified of leaving their cosy little communes! Only the natives use it, and we're too busy getting fat off of lovely benefits! It's a great system, I suggest you try it.

Final Fantasy is a pretty awesome series, & I'd recommend both X & XII if you want to get into it. VII is also really good but a bit dated, so...
There's also XIV that recently came out that looks fun & is an MMO if that's your thing.

I've played X a little bit. Up until you get your first gaurdian thing. I think it was a giant bird or something like that.

Its been a while.

Wonder if its on computer?

Yeah, the first Aeon is Valefor, a giant bird. Rather unremarkable as aeons go, but it's a start.
I don't believe it's on the computer but if you're willing to emulate it I bet it wouldn't be all that hard to find a PS2 emulator & FFX rom.

Actually, on that note, I could probably just ask my uncle. He's a big FF fan, I actually played it on his PS2, and he's got emulators for tons of games. I found that I could have actually saved myself the four dollars on VII had I asked him.
Thanks for the suggestion!

My pleasure. It's generally the average favorite game among FF fans, although there's one scene about a quarter of the way through the game that everyone thinks is really dumb.
