Name: Diriisol (Ramphanguilla molluscuphagia)

Base DNA: Atlantic wolffish, spotted hyena, pacific viperfish, broadclub cuttlefish, Conchoraptor gracilis, saddle-billed stork, ocellated frogfish, Formosan subterranean termite, pea aphid, grey crowned crane, New Mexico whiptail, orange skunk clownfish

Number in Shoal: 303 (300 Diriisoli, 1 Diriisol Aophrenteis, 2 Diriisol Balthukepi)

Name: Diriisol Aophrenteis

Height: 3 Inches
Length: 8 Inches

Weight: 8000 grams

Abilities: Can swim, crawl, bite and release pheromones, is bioluminescent

Weaknesses: Slow, unintelligent, soft skin

Defences: Biting, other Diriisoli

Special Attributes: Can release pheromones that drive other Diriisoli into a frenzy, bioluminescence

Description: A large, thick bodied Atlantic wolffish with frogfish-like pectoral and pelvic fins, no dorsal or caudal fins and a beak like that of a conchoraptor. Behind the beak there are hyena and wolffish teeth. Its head has large, fleshy fronds on it that form a crest. Diriisol Aophrenteisi are usually grey, green or brown in colour with dark blotches and have small bioluminescent spots running along their flanks.

Name: Diriisol Balthukeps

Height: 2 Inches
Length: 5 Inches

Weight: 6000 grams

Abilities: Can swim, bite and crawl, is bioluminescent, can metamorphose into a Diriisol Aophrenteis

Weaknesses: Slow, unintelligent, soft skin

Defences: Biting, other Diriisoli

Special Attributes: Bioluminescence, can metamorphose into a Diriisol Aophrenteis if the old Aophrenteis of the shoal dies

LOGI Info: Diriisoli live in shallow seas, and form shoals led by a large female known as an Aophrenteis. The Aophrenteis controls her shoal by use of pheromones. If any of her shoal die, she can give birth to more through parthenogenesis. The shoal contains a few Diriisol Balthukepi as well. If the Aophrenteis dies, one of the Balthukepi will metamorphose into a new Aophrenteis, and one of the normal Diriisoli will metamorphose into a new Balthukep.
Diriisoli are mostly active at night, when they use their bioluminescence to communicate with each other. They are poor swimmers, but with their fleshy fins, they can crawl along the seabed, which is slower than swimming, but less tiring.
Diriisoli feed almost exclusively on molluscs, especially Bliiri. When hunting Bliiri, they will use their sharp beaks to stab through the hinges of their opercula, making it easy to tear them off and get to the soft body of the Bliiren inside the shell. If they are unable to break through a Bliiren’s opercula, the Aophrenteis, who usually lets the other Diriisoli do most of the work, will assist them. With her powerful beak, which is perfectly designed for crushing shells, she can crunch through nearly any Bliiren’s defences. A Bliiren’s only way to escape a shoal of Diriisoli is to hop away. They can hop faster than Diriisoli can swim, but due to their heavy shells, they tire quickly, and so they rarely get very far.
Limosusapiens farm Diriisoli, keeping them to sacrifice Bliiri to them during religious rituals. The Diriisoli and Bliiri are kept in Telkeasorui, with the Diriisol Aophrenteis being kept separately from the rest of her shoal. Before a sacrifice, she is massaged and gently squeezed to get her to produce pheromones. A Bliiren is then rubbed in her pheromones and fed to the other Diriisoli. The Aophrenteis’s pheromones excite them and cause them to devour the Bliiren especially quickly. After the ritual, the Bliiren’s opercula are collected, as the Limosusapiens use them as currency. The empty shell, if it remains intact, can be used for tools, musical instruments and decorations. The Aophrenteis is allowed to spend some time in the same bowl as her shoal three times a week, as without her, they become melancholy. However, she is not allowed to spend too long with them, because if they are exposed to her pheromones for too long, they can become aggressive.

Other: Aophrenteis is the Limosusapien word for queen, Balthukep is the Limosusapien word for heir or successor.

Ok, so with my iBrain's battery recharged, I am ready for some sciencing.

I'm sure that there is going to be some hybridisation between the two forms: a new beast, slouching towards us. I'm eagerly looking forward to meeting the beautiful mutant.
