Name: Slioruill (Limosuneustes maritimus) Height: 15 feet Length: 45 feet Weight: 2 tons Base DNA: Great crested newt, Belgian horse, Eretmosaurus rugosus, leatherback sea turtle, green sea turtle, European conger eel, leopard, California sea lion, giant Pacific octopus, nurse shark, mandarinfish, Eulagisca gigantea Abilities: Jet propulsion, biting, can change colour Weaknesses: Very slow on land, soft body, vulnerable neck, no control over their colour changes Defences: Biting, swimming away Special Attributes: Jet propulsion, can change colour Description: A plesiosaur with a short, thick neck, a turtle beak, large, black eyes surrounded by wrinkles, flippers which are a mixture of sea lion flippers and newt feet but with small claws, an eel-like tail and a mandarinfish fin on top of its head. It has three gills on each side of its neck and four siphons on each side of its body. Inside its mouth, there is a Eulagisca gigantea proboscis. Its skin is soft and slimy and it has a cartilaginous skeleton. Slioruilli are darker in colour on their backs than on their stomachs, and are covered in spots. The colour of these spots vary between each individual, but they cannot change colour. The rest of the body can change colour, but the back always remains darker than the stomach. Slioruilli have a large spot on each of their thighs, which is absent when they are first born but develops as they grow older. The conditions they lived in as they were growing up influences the size and shape of the spot. This spot is usually a different colour to the rest of their spots. LOGI Info: Slioruilli inhabit deep water at the edges of continental shelves. They are normally found in temperate and tropical seas and live in family groups of about ten members. Their diet consists mostly of seagrass, algae and other plants, but they will occasionally eat jellyfish, sea anemones and coral. Their skin constantly changes colour, with the colour it changes to depending on the Slioruill’s mood. Their head and tail fins also change colour. The head fin changes colour more quickly than the rest of the body, while the tail fin changes colour more slowly and subtly. Slioruilli have no control over what colour they turn, so it can’t be used for camouflage. Slioruilli can swim either by undulating their tails, which is slower and less tiring, or by paddling with their fins, which is faster and more tiring. If they need a quick burst of speed, they can suck in water through their mouths and expel it through their siphons. Slioruill’s limbs are too weak to support them on land, so when moving on land they have to slither. If they are attacked, Slioruilli usually try to flee. If they are corned or forced to fight, they will defend themselves by biting with their powerful beaks and proboscises, or by lashing out with their tails and flippers. Slioruilli have been domesticated by the Limosusapiens, who use them mostly as mounts, but occasionally as beasts of burden. The Slioruilli kept by the Limosusapiens have been bred to be stronger and able to swim for longer than their wild relatives. A Slioruill can carry two Limosusapien riders, or pull a raft with up to four Limosusapiens in it. Limosusapiens rarely use saddles, as they find bareback riding to be easier.
