Name (of creature): Bookwurm Swarm size: 1,000 Height: 1-3 inches Length: 5 inches Weight: 5 ounces Base DNA: Wood Lice, Tick, Earthworm, Grasshopper Abilities: Burrowing, eating wood, has a 4 foot vertical (it's impressive when you consider it's size) Weaknesses: Small, minimal armor, legs easily ripped off Defenses: Jumping ability, grasshopper armor on legs Special Attributes: Survive almost entirely off wood, can burrow through most substances ie paper, wood, flesh, etc. Can carry Lymes disease. Description: An earthworm body with two grasshopper legs attached about at it's midway point. Has two ugly eyes, and two antennae. LOGI Info: These creatures live in swarms of, at most, 1,000 members, although it is not uncommon to find multiple swarms living in the same tree, just in different parts/branches of it. Bookwurms are not very territorial towards each other. Females will lay millions of eggs just underneath the bark of trees, mostly oak, and males will fertilize them. Roughly 3/4ths of these eggs will become pupae (earthworms w/antennae and eyes, beginnings of legs visible on older individuals) which will grow into adults. They are vicious when attacked, but beyond that are really just regular animals, trying to survive...in a tree... While most Bookwurms live in trees, and are extremely numerous in forests, eggs have, on occasion, been accidentally mixed in with wood that makes shelves, chests, and particularly paper. When the eggs hatch, the pupae then slowly break out of the paper. Most of these occurrences have happened with books, giving them their name. They will not hesitate to burrow into flesh, although they prefer wood. Other: Hey, who turned out the lights? |

Now, finding weights for worms I pretty much impossible, but my magical wizard sense (And by that I mean comparing it to other animals of similar length) tells me that it should be fine. Perhaps a bit heavy, but not enough that it can't simply be solved with them just being pretty dense creatures. |
