Barioth is the slowest out of the three in my opinion. Narga takes the cake in speed, but ol' rexy.. He is faster than Barioth and hits harder too. Tigrex is too badass to stay in the tundra too. He makes the desert his b**ch too. The only monsters that could defend themselves from Tigrex are Jho and Blos. |

I think we're all glad you didn't say those names in the opposite order. Again, I'll reiterate; I wasn't question Tigrexs' power. Just that visually, Barioth looks 10 time cooler than Tigrex. Also, Barioth does have a desert sub-species, don't forget. |

There it's a matter of opinion. Tigrex was always w=one of my favorites. I think he looks badass, and having sen his intro in MHF2 vs Barioths in MH3.... Tigrex just takes the cake... |

Hey Walrus, do you know of any good G-rank Lancing armor? I've just been using High-rank G. Agnaktor With Tremor resist and Honed Blade gemmed in here in the early G-rank. |

Honestly that's the perfect gear until you unlock Barroth. I'd stick with that and maybe try to upgrade it further using armorspheres when you get them. |

So far I've been using lances and occasionally hammers, but I've been thinking I should try working in some ranged combat too. I think I'm going to go with a bow, but I'm at a loss for which to pick. Any suggestions? |

I can't help you at all, honestly. I stick to hammers and switch axes, primarily. |

Definitely go for the Bel Nefastro+. It can't be upgraded into a g-rank weapon, but the poison damage and mildly good sharpness allows for some good kill times. Deviljho, Urugaan, Brachydos, and many others are very weak to poison, and that extra constant damage is cray helpful after poison's huge buff in MH3U. |

So a month later now I've finally gotten to fighting a Diablos in high-rank. More challenging than a Barroth... but not that bad, honestly. I did faint once, but there's a bit of a story behind it. The Diablos was sleeping so I took the chance to sharpen my lance so I could make the most of the opportunity. ...Then Cha-Cha hit it with a boomerang and it took it out on me mid-sharpening. |

You lanced him. Lancing is possibly the ONLY way one can fight Diablos without tearing their hair out. I've lanced him plenty just because he's obnoxious to fight with any other weapon. |

Sound like more proof of how awesome lances are. ![]() But yeah, I can definitely see how it would be a difficult fight with a different weapon and without a shield. |

Lances ARE awesome. They just aren't as rewarding. Other weapons are more difficult but more fun, and look cooler when you use them. The only lance that is both awesome and functional is Sharq attaq... one of my favorite weapons in the game. |

So I've had a pretty good time hunting this week while I've been away from Genome. Repelled a JM, slayed a Deviljho, got the chiefs' robes and pipe awards. Darnit are Deviljho tough buggers. It's so fun to feed them satatus'd meats, though.

The satisfaction that I got from finally completing my Dire Miralis armor set was a little unnatural. But in all seriousness, I am very satisfied with my recent sets like Gigginox X and Alatreon. |
