It has locust wings hidden under its wing cases. They have extendable jaws that can shoot out to grab prey. Almabrygmos are light ochre in colour, with intricate black markings all over their bodies. LOGI Info: Almabrygmos are carnivorous, surprisingly intelligent insects. They live in subtropical and Mediterranean climates, and are usually found in trees or shrubs. They prey on small animals such as birds, lizards, rodents and other insects, bringing them down with a mixture of slashes from their huge claws and bites from their extendable mandibles. They aim their slashes at their victim’s vulnerable parts, such as eyes and noses. The anticoagulant secreted in their claws and mandibles causes the victim to bleed profusely, and the Almabrygmos will continue to attack and retreat for as long as they need to, wearing their prey down due to fatigue and blood loss. Almabrygmos usually try to stay out of the way of large animals, but if they feel threatened, they will slash, bite with their extendable jaws and kick in self defense. The Almabrygmos’s agility and resistance to crushing means that it can be difficult for large animals to kill them. When their aggressor has left them and they no longer feel threatened, they will return to their tree or shrub to rest. Almabrygmos are quite social, and large groups can often be found sharing the same tree or shrub. However, they prefer to hunt alone. They raise their young well, caring for them and feeding them until they are large enough to survive on their own, which is usually at about one month old. They have a lifespan of about five years. Other: The jumps, slashes and kicks they use when fighting are slightly reminiscent of some form of martial art. -------------------- |

On it. Props for it being a single swarm-sized creature. Fairly sure it's the first single creature in that size range. |
