I've also played some of it, though I haven't finished the game yet. So far, my opinion is that it's not a bad game, it just doesn't feel much like a Fossil Fighters game.sure, you dig up fossils and have dinosaurs fight each other, but there's too much difference for it to feel like it's a true Fossil Fighters game. First are the unnececary design changed. Many old Vivosaurs had their designs changed. Most significant to me are Mapo, Giganto and Carchar, three of my all time favorite Vivosaurs, who have just had their looks anhialated. Seriously. I don't think anyone would say that their old designs where bad. They all looked cool, and now one is a tree, another is a walking neon sign and the last one is Barney's cousin. The only design changes that I think improved the Vivosaur so far are Tarbo, Toba, Mihu and Zino. Second there is something that just bothers me. They introduced something new. Rather then just digging on a handful of islands, you dig on different continents. That's nice. It explains how you get fossils from around the world. Unfortunately, they decided they had to violently shatter this illusion. Rather then including all the continents, there's only 3. As a result, you find fossils from creatures that lived on completely different continents in the same darn site. I'd rather have no explanation then an explanation that is promptly destroyed. Then there's removed stuff. A buttload of Vivosaurs where removed for no good reason. Also, Super Fossils where removed.p for no good reason. It just doesn't make sense to me. Also, unnecessary change. Suddenly, Earth is Air and Air is Earth. Seriously, they changed how the types work. Why? I don't know. The new battle system isn't bad, but it isn't very Fossil Fighterey. FFC had a different system from the first game, but it was still very simmilar. If you where fammiliar with the first game's system, the second game's system took very little time to get used to. This new system, I still don't fully understand over 15 hours into the game. I also agree with what DF said. The fact that you have two NPC controlled allies is incredibly annoying and restrictive. The new way dig sites work makes them kind of boring and incredibly time consuming. And, while the story isn't bad so far, it pales compared to the other two games. Overall though, it's been a better experience then I expected (Not that that says much). It's not bad, but it can't compete with the its predecessors. In fact, mit shouldn't need to, because it plays almost completely differently. |

I actually don't mind the change to the type match-ups too much, aside from it taking me a bit to notice it in the first place. Fire>Air>Earth>Water>Fire arguably makes more sense than the old set-up did from a logical standpoint. |
