Here is where you can propose and discuss initial ideas for habitats. If deemed suitable, they will be permitted topics of their own for further discussion.

The "Garden of Kronos" is approved for a discussion topic.

The Destroyer Dukes' habitat is also approved for a discussion topic, pending a name for the habitat.

A few proposals to get the ball rolling and see what everyone else thinks of them.

  • Glacial Caverns - An idea Superdude had proposed (and hence all credit for the idea to him) for the TGI habitat challenge, and one that I would support to see made.
  • Floating Gardens - Aerial habitats based around Farawaya Trees, possibly held together by vines. Come on; we're all thinking it and we know it.
  • Leatherwing Grasslands - Semi-secluded mountain grasslands home to the likes of Greater Leatherwing and Carnotherisaurus.
  • Terra Islands - A habitat set atop the backs of Terra families.

Names subject to change if we happen to come up with something better.

Do we discuss the habitats here? I assume we discuss the habitats here.
I really like Glacial Caverns, Floating Gardens, and Terra Islands. We could make some cool underground ice plants and stuff, and more floating things.
Aerblašra could be a species in the Floating Gardens, bumping things around. I'd gladly make a few species that live in the Floating Gardens, if that's OK. It seems like it would be quite a beautiful sight to see, giant trees and whales floating around, with birds gliding between them and whatnot.

But GD was thinking of it first

Glacial caverns would also be cool, you could have some creature that produces heat to melt through ice and make tunnels through the glaciers.

There would have to be Ocean for the Whales to live there, or at least a very large river or lake, for any whales to live, as they use water as a landing platform and for food.

It could be floating above the ocean, or rather large lakes because unless Farawaya trees can take in saltwater then it'd probably be impossible for Aerblašra to live there, in retrospect. Unless Aerblašra can find food in freshwater, which I can't recall if they can.

@AR: Basically this topic is for proposing habitat ideas and getting a basic enough idea for them, enough that a topic for further discussion can be made.

The Terra Islands are probably ready at this point to get a topic, I would think. The Floating Garden, as you guys are discussing, needs a bit more thought into first. The Caverns I'm going to hold off on until we get input from SD.

@Floating Gardens: Only thing I'll mention is that they could basically go anywhere within reason. Perhaps we should have terrestrial and oceanic versions to account for that variance.

I'm glad you took my proposal to allow the creation of habitats! I have an environment to propose.

Sabeiji Forests: High rainfall areas near or above large mineral deposits. Punctuated by extremely large plant life, most notably of which is the Sabeiji Shirubatsuri. Highly populated due to the abundance of resources.
If you can't tell, I'm obsessed with a color that my friends say is just red.

Burnt Lands - Areas devastated by the activity of fire-using beasts, i.e. Pyrotitan. Good growth potential due to high-nutrient ash, but also difficult to breathe for smaller animals, especially when windy.

Wormsignature - Habitats rendered unstable or bizarrely formed by the activity of worms and other subterranean creatures. Expect the ground to be likely to collapse into a tunnel, or for strange winding trenches and pits to dot the landscape.

I had an idea for a habitat somewhat like the Wormsignature, but with the inclusion of plants that have small trunks above ground, but below the surface have an intricate root system which grows through the walls of the tunnels and caverns, helping to stabilse them. There could also possible be a creature, possibly in a Caste of some sort, which cultivates the plants in order for them to be able to build and maintain large and stable tunnels to live in, and in return pile organic matter around certain parts of the roots in order to nourish them. Also a bioluminescent fungus or something of the like that illuminates some of the underground, allowing above ground creatures to navigate it if need be, but leaves other parts dark. It could possibly also be grown and cultured by the creatures which maintain the stabilizing-root plant.

Titan Graveyards - Places where Titans go to die. No one's sure what draws these colossal beasts to these locations for their final moments, but what is sure is that they are home to tremendous hosts of predators and scavengers taking advantage of this veritable cornucopia of meat. These places are surprisingly verdant, due to the decomposition of the titans and the sheer lack of any herbivores other than dying giants because of the myriad carnivores.

Possibly some sort of challenge requiring the beast to make it from one side to the other, with randomly generated predators.
