Name (of creature): Hadelink Height: 30 feet Length: 50 feet wingspan: Each wing is roughly two feet across. Weight: 1 ton Base DNA: Salp, Berroid comb jelly, Dragonfly, bull kelp, Salema porgy, starfish, Hydra, Turritopsis dohrnii Abilities: Link together, cause hallucinations, photosynthesis Weaknesses: soft, pretty much incapable of controlling itself Defenses: Hallucinogenic gas Special Attributes: Blocks out sunlight, causes hallucinations, floats, photosynthetic, can regenerate from only a few cells, produces hallucinogenic gases inside its body, links together Description: A green comb jelly that completely blocks out light from the inside. Instead of cilia, it has millions of dragonfly wings in their place. Their body walls are thicker than a normal comb jellies and contain large hydrogen gas pockets. LOGI Info: Hadelinks are, on their own, quite large creatures. They are primarily photosynthetic, but also ingest any organic material that gets stuck to the inside of their bodies. They fly thousands of feet in the air, high above any competition from plants. For protection, hundreds will link end-to-end, creating massive, pitch-black tunnels floating in the sky. If enough Hadelinks connect to each other, they can sometime go on for miles. They can connect by lining their bodies up to attach perfectly to another Hadelink, though it's a relative mystery how they can do so without eyes. They also bud off new ones from their bodies rather than going through a land phase. The juveniles are ambush predators, and lack chlorophyll until they reach roughly ten feet across. Thus, they are transparent. As young, the rims of both ends are covered in small dragonfly eyes, used for spotting prey. These wither away eventually as they become photosynthetic. Because of their gelatinous nature, they require a lot of water, and thus, they are usually found at or just below cloud-level. Rather than dying as one would expect of an organism to do when it is viciously torn apart, the pieces simply fall to the ground and become baby Hadelinks once again. When they are attacked, generally they also release hallucinogenic gases on their attacker. Other: Because floating, pitch-black tunnels are always fun. |

Comb jelly + salp + hallucinogenic gas = brilliant. I see nothing wrong with it, so approved. |
