Name: Atsalisaurus

Height: 30 feet
Length: 70 feet

Weight: 60 tons

Base DNA: Scaly-foot gastropod, Parasaurolophus cyrtocristatus, Saurosuchus galilei, Tuojiangosaurus multispinus, Rhyssa persuasoria, giant pangolin, broad-footed mole, kea, blue-and-yellow macaw, scarlet macaw, Brindabellaspis stensioi, Cuvier's beaked whale, strap-toothed whale, giant spiny stick insect, forest dragon

Abilities: Fire breath, sonar/echolocation, good senses of smell and hearing

Weaknesses: Slow, unmaneuverable, poor eyesight, can’t swim, chinks in their armour in several locations, can only use their fire for a few seconds and it takes a few minutes before it can be used again, will become disorientated if heads are damaged or when it uses its echolocation, armour can be torn off with enough force, magnets, can openers

Defenses: Metal armour, claws, heads, thagomizer, fire

Special Attributes: Fire breath, metal armour

Description: A Parasaurolophus with three long necks, each with a head at the end, large claws on its front feet, Tuojiangosaurus plates along its back and a six spined thagomizer. Its heads are crosses between rauisuchian and hadrosaur heads, and have powerful beaks, teeth that are replaced throughout its lifetimes and are suited to both tearing and crushing and Parasaurolophus crests with small spines running along them. These crests are able to send sonar pulses and echolocate. Its entire body, except for its three heads, its back plates, it tail spine and its claws, is covered in large, spiny armour plates. There are chinks between these plates on its limbs, belly, back and neck. These are made from keratin, but are covered by the iron sulfide greigite, which is reinforced with other chemicals such as carbon to make it harder. Its armour is dark grey in colour, but its heads, back plates and tail spines are brightly coloured, ranging from gold, to coppery, to cobalt blue, to ruby red, to emerald green.

LOGI Info: Atsalisaurus are large herbivores that live in subtropical to Mediterranean biomes and feed on trees and large shrubs, crunching through bark and branches with their powerful jaws and teeth. They are nearly always found in volcanic areas. The reason for this is that they ingest volcanic rocks and extract minerals from them which they use to form their metallic armour. With their powerful claws and teeth, they can dig up and crush rocks to get their required minerals. They also extract small amounts of minerals from their food. They are able to locate large deposits of minerals by using their echolocation and listening for different frequencies which may indicate different minerals. These minerals are combined within their bodies and secreted over their keratinous armour, forming a metallic layer of iron sulphides, combined with some other chemicals to make them more durable.
Since the minerals Atsalisaurs require are often rare, they are usually territorial, except when they are ready to mate. They have no set breeding season, so simply mate when they come across a member of the opposite gender who is also ready. After mating, the female and male will stay together for eight to ten months, during which time the eggs are laid, incubated and hatched. The male protects the nest from predators while the female collects plants material to feed him. The eggs are covered in dirt and leaves if they get too cold and it is scraped off again if they begin to overheat. As soon as the young hatch, the parents will abandon them, as they are capable of fending for themselves from the moment that they hatch. At hatching, they have no metallic covering for their armour and it is soft when they first hatch, but over the course of a few days it hardens. Over the rest of their lifetimes, minerals will constantly be secreted onto their armour, further hardening it.
Atsalisaurus have few predators, but if they are attacked, they can use their physical weapons, fire breath or sonar to defend themselves. However, if one head uses its sonar pulse, it will stun the other two heads, causing the entire Atsalisaurus to become disorientated. However, they usually recover very quickly, so they can attack while their opponent is still stunned. If two or three heads use their sonar at once, the Atsalisaurus will be stunned for about ten to twenty seconds. They can also only keep up their fire breath for a short amount of time, so it is mostly only used as a display, or for quick, high intensity blasts when the opponent is already weakened. It also takes some time to “recharge” between each use. For these reasons, they use their teeth, claws and thagomizers as their primary forms of attack and defense.

I'm sure that there is going to be some hybridisation between the two forms: a new beast, slouching towards us. I'm eagerly looking forward to meeting the beautiful mutant.

Because I didn't know about it before? Well, either way, now that I know about it, I've currently got a creature idea that could definitely use the DNA.

Anyway, now to why I'm here. Weight. Now, finding a good weight estimate for Parasaurolophus is fairly tricky. Wikipedia gives a weight of 2.5 tons, but I find it unrealistic for a Parasaurolophus to weigh around half of what a same length Edmontosaurus would weigh, so I'm taking a weight of 4 tons. Anyway, scaling it up to this size leaves me with a weight of 46 tons. And I'm not even counting the armor and spikes. I'd say this thing should be 55 tons at least.

I'd say Para would probably be a little less than four tons, Edmontosaurus is a lot thicker than Parasaurolophus.

Which I accounted for. If I am correct, an Edmontosaurus the length of a Parasaurolophus would be 5 or more tons, which is a considerable amount bigger then my estimate for Parasaurolophus.
