Name (of creature): Chimnite Height: 50 feet Diameter: 30 feet Weight: 25 tons Base DNA: Sea Biscuit, Garden Spider, Skunk, Yeast, Sea Squirt, Dragon, Scaly Footed Gastropod Abilities: Emit Sulphur oxide Gas, release molten sulphur, invenomate Weaknesses: Slow, blind, burns its insides if it falls over Defenses: Iron exterior shell, Molten Sulphur, Sulphur oxide gas, venomous bite Special Attributes: Molten Sulphur, sulphur oxide, iron shell, venomous bite, good sense of smell Description: A sea biscuit with four garden spider legs and garden spider fangs. Its back is uneven and covered in iron, with several unevenly placed spouts, some on spires, which constantly emit sulphur oxide. It usually has obvious trails where molten sulphur has spilled down its back. Along the sides of these spouts, thick bacterial colonies can clearly be seen. Small, closeable pours on its back and legs harbor urchin feet, which are used to move flameable material up and into the spouts, and harvest bacteria. LOGI Info: Chimnites are unusual animals. Unlike most animals that use internal combustion chambers for defense and offense, Chimnites use theirs mostly for heating sulphur and other elements to create chemical compounds for bacteria to feed on. This bacteria grows throughout the animals internal organs and on its exterior shell, which the Chimnite feeds on in exchange for the bacteria's defense and food. While venomous, Chimnites aren't particularly fast or agile, and thus their venom is usually not used. Instead, when angered, they can excrete copious amounts of sulphur from their spouts, superheated by their internal combustion chambers into molten form. While this will kill some bacteria, it also makes a potent defense, as it smells awful and is often over 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Chimnites, having no need to eat, often wander around aimlessly. The only resources they look for are flameable materials (preferring coal and sulphur, but also taking wood and man-made materials) and water. Their rod-like limbs make them poor swimmers, but lacking a neck, they must enter the water up to their fangs to drink. They avoid spending too much time in the water to prevent themselves from cooling down enough to kill their bacteria. Because of their preference for burnable materials, they often are found wandering around volcanic slopes and areas just after forest fires. While Chimnites have both male and female individuals, Chimnites in fact reproduce asexually. Young Chimnites hang onto their parents underside, safe from the superheated chemicals and surface of the top. After reaching about five inches across, their iron shell begins to develop, and they drop off the adult and find flammable material to add to their combustion chambers for the first time. Other: I tried my hardest to make walking, terrestrial, "hydro"thermal vents.

Five things: 1: Walking hydrothermal (Terrathermal?) vents = brilliance. 2: Could these be domesticated? I can imagine the races in Genomia using them as living furnaces, maybe supplying them with sulphur to keep them in one place. 3: On a similar note, I can imagine Atsalisaurs feeding on the sulphur the Chimnites produce, and possibly burning plants to create charcoal to lure them in. 4: I wasn't entirely sure if this is how it should look, but I tried to draw a picture for it. 5: Approved. |
