Leaders Log (Genghis), Turn 342 The building project goes smoothly if slowly, and our lands start to grow even stronger. The first three ships of what will be our navy have been made and start scouting the lands ahead. A Frigate from Grand River scouts west-ward, while another from Kagoshima scouts southward. An Ironclad from Tokyo looks east towards Spain in particular. We have made attempts to weaken the foreigners by setting Rome to war against China once again. Unfortunately, it seems that has not kept Rome busy enough, for colonies turn up in the south-east peninsula and surrounding small islands that the Iroquois once held. We have declared war against this incursion, and already we have set one of the colonies aflame. While we scout east for the conquest of Spain, the Roman colonies will serve as fodder for our waiting horde in the meantime. Leaders Log (Genghis), Turn 350 The Roman colonies on the mainland have been defeated by Keshik fire and Ironclad might, though the nearby island colonies mostly remain. Now our forces ready to embark east against Spain. Our west-bound Frigate has came upon a continent separate to the one holding the capitals of the other civilizations. It seems to be mostly controlled by China. |

Me and Ty just spent the last 3 hours designing a RWBY-themed civ mod. We haven't done DOM and stuff like that yet but we got AI stats and unique stuff so that's something. Headmaster Ozpin of Vale UA: Schnee Dust Company Allows Vale to mine the Dust strategic resource. UU: Hunter(/Huntsmen?) Replaces scout, requires Dust. Flanking 1 bonus, Great General 1 bonus, adds 1 point of Happiness when garrisoned in a city. UB: Huntsman Academy Replaces military academy, might require Dust. Quarters the cost of Hunters, but costs four times as much gold per turn. Looks nice! I regret to say though that the time I've been away from Civ V is starting to show in my game. Long story short, China and Rome have gained a significant tech-lead on me, pretty much blocking me from any attempts to attack with my current army. I've been rushing to try and catch up, but China just completed the Apollo Program AND Manhattan Project. Now, in time I'll probably catch up and could take them on/out. But before China launches their spaceship? Not happening. At this point I think I'm just going to let that game rest and move on to the Celts tonight after work. In hindsight there's two things I should have done different. 1, I should have never made that off-continent attack, at least not at that time. I should have hunkered down with all my victories and put all focus on science, either for a science victory and/or better weapons. 2. I should have razed a lot more cities and built a lot more of my own. My justification was that I didn't want someone to move back in and claim the land, ergo I'd have to attack again, but ultimately a number of them were just extra baggage that weighed me down. You didn't see it through my logs, but there was a bunch of the time from toward the end of the west-war and through during the east-war that I was running at -20 to -30 in unhappiness. (Though as an aside, keep in mind that means I also did the bulk of my conquest while suffering a combat penalty from that, and I still freakin' well beat everyone else on the continent with relative ease!) |

I've been meaning to take some as I go but I keep forgetting. Besides, I don't have regular internet access right now that I'd be able to post anything. I'm sure it'll happen again sometime though so I'll try and remember next time. In other news though, BNW is awesome and my game as the Celts is going great. I've met all the other players (Korea, China, Poland, Ethiopia, Shoshone, Aztec, Arabia, Morocco, Netherlands, and myself) and I've got a triangle of friendship between myself, Korea, and Ethiopia, as well as DoFs with China and the Netherlands. I got an awesome starting location; a nice patch of forest with sea at my north border, rough terrain and mountains to the south, rivers on both sides, and four Truffle resources that have gotten me a LOT of money and stuff in trade. For religion I went with Goddess of the Hunt for Pantheon belief to get a boost from all my camps, which has been a HUGE boost towards my population. For founder belief I went with Church Property for some nice income, and of course Cathedrals for the follower belief. All three of my cities and all three of Korea's cities are following my religion, and I just got enough Faith for another missionary that I'll send to China and hopefully Morocco. On the culture said I've got all the one of the Liberty policies, just started into Aesthetics, and I'm going to start working on Piety soon in addition to Aesthetics. I've got three great works so far, and no one else has any yet so I've got a nice lead. Speaking of which, thanks to the Great Library I'm also in the lead technologically right now. About the only bad thing that's happened so far is that a whole crop of barbarians turned up in the space between me and Korea a while back and I lost a caravan to them. At this point it really isn't a big deal since I've got lots of other income anyway. |

Celtic Cultural Victory at Turn 400. It was fun but terribly easy since first of all no one else was really going for culture, and secondly because thanks to having lots and lots of gold I had the world congress firmly under my control. I'm debating what Civ I want to play next. I'm considering the Inca, but there are a number of tempting options. |

Screenshots from Science Victory as Babylon.![]() I could easily have won a Diplomatic Victory, but I prefer Science. Admittedly, bribing Siam's allies away was pretty fun. Ended up being friends with everyone, like some kind of giant scientifically advanced Switzerland, who gave everybody oranges. ![]() Russia, Ottomans, Mongols, Aztecs, Indonesia, India, Poland, Siam (grrr), Zulus and Shoshone. Siam randomly started capturing Aztec cities late in the game, Aztecs had an early war with Mongolia and wiped out France, and the Zulus started conquering the Shoshone. ![]() Yekaterinburg. I didn't want to go to war with Catherine and ruin my nice guy rep, and thus I lost a load of GPT, salt, aluminium, copper, yadda yadda. ![]() As you can see, GDRs are on the way. Siam will pay for being second to me. Used to be able to see the statue of Cristo Redentor, but then I reloaded and it disappeared. Sad face. ![]() Pretty sure I meant to take a picture of my second city Akkad here. Oh well. |

Niiiiiiice. I expect to see the burning ruins of Siam later. Also reminds me I need to start taking screenshots which I really should do because the game I started last night is going really good so far. I ended up just deciding to go with the Inca and where I left off last night I was Turn 160-something. I got the Maya and Morocco as neighbors, and at this point I've had both of their capitals captured for long enough that I've built courthouses and put them on to other projects. I paid no mind to faith at the start, but then with my capture of the Mayan capital I got Stonehenge and a Pantheon a few turns later. Then when I completed the Liberty tree a bit more recently I used my free GP on a Prophet and founded the first Religion without having put ANY effort of my own into it whatsoever. For Wonders (in addition to Stonehenge) I've built the Temple of Artemis, Statue of Zeus, The Pyramids, and The Great Wall. For Luxuries I've got 1 wine (I think it was wine anyway. Wine or dyes.) 5 Incense between my capital and the two cities I founded, 1 gem and 1 silver from the Mayan capital, and 3 copper from the Moroccan capital. As soon as I start again I've got units poised to take Morocco's stand-in capital which will give me my first coastal city. Now, on the bad side of things I'm still building my army up to match my empire, my gold income is sucky, and I haven't gotten to exploring much beyond what are now my borders and haven't met any city-states. Now, all of those should work out soon enough. I've got my main cities caught up to where they're able to produce some units. I've kept two Mayan cities around pinned against the sea that I can trade with as long as they don't cause a problem. I'm also soon going to be working on exploring which as I met some other civs should help since I've got loads of extra resources to trade. So all in all I'm really not doing too bad as long as I keep on top of stuff. EDIT: Wait... Saidi, how the hay do you have over 100 happiness? |

Lots of luxuries, lots of happiness wonders - I was slipping into the minuses before I built Notre Dame - happiness policies, bribing all the mercantile city states to be my allies, buying stadiums and such as soon as possible, small number of cities, enacting global policies by being the weightiest member of the council. Also, some gud mods if you don't have them already. Events & Decisions Map Labels - can spoil the fun of random civs a bit, but not too bad if you use non-mod civs. Some examples of named terrain from my superultramegaOPpower game as Rome ![]()
