Name (of creature): Megacastrum afthartos (Indestructible great castle) Height: 21 meters (70 feet) Length: 12 meters (40 feet) Weight: 150 tons Base DNA: Giganotosaurus, Prehistoric Dragon, Bombardier Beetle, Scaly-foot Gastropod, Ironclad Beetle, Hercules Beetle, Elephantnose Fish, Gecko, Fly, Meerkat, Peregrine Falcon, E.coli, Turkey Vulture Abilities: Arms are very strong, capable of lifting 50 tons each (100 tons combined) and can strike with a force of 70 tons. Its head and neck are strong enough to lift an additional 20 tons (120 tons in total). Spikes are very tough and require a pressure exceeding their owner's weight to break. Its bite, while not that strong, is adept at slicing through flesh like a knife through butter. It can generate an electric shock of 25.000 watts. It has the ability to shoot fire out of its upper cannons. The lower cannons shoot something much, MUCH worse. It has a heatproof exoskeleton, making it almost immune to heat based attacks. It has a rubbery layer of skin underneath its exoskeleton, making it essentially immune to electricity. Its armor is segmented to allow for as much flexibility as possible. It has great eyesight and moderate intelligence, which it tends to use to locate its opponent's weak spots. It is immune to toxins and highly resistant to other kinds of infectious things (Viruses, bacteria, ect). It is very stable due to a combination of its immense weight and the gecko "hairs" at the bottom of its feet. It has formidable stomach acids, allowing it to digest rotten or infected flesh. They also have a highly acute sense of smell. Weaknesses: Its size and armor makes it rather slow and unagile. Its joints, while a very small target, are quite a lot more vulnerable then the rest of its body, as are the bottom of its feet, but to a lesser extent. If it (Somehow) is toppled, it has a very hard time getting back on it's feet. It only has enough ammunition to keep its jet up for 30 seconds.. Cannot swim whatsoever. Defenses: Armor. Lots and lots of armor. Weaponry. Special Attributes: It has INSANELY strong armor made out of 2 layers. The first is its exoskeleton, which, like the Ironclad Beetle's, is ridiculously strong, capable of withstanding a pressure of up to 250 tons. As if that isn't enough, it is covered by a layer of iron, making it even tougher to get through. The spikes and teeth are also covered in iron to harden them. Speaking of the spikes, it has 2 types of spikes. On its legs and upper pair of arms, it has large, rounded spikes, adept at puncturing and smashing armor and bone (Though those on the legs are rarely used due to their position). The ones on the legs are also slightly curved, making them quite adept at grasping. On the lower pair of arms it has a slightly different type of spikes. In fact, they are not really spikes. They are thinner and sharper then the other spikes. They are so sharp, they are more like swords then spikes. It has incredibly quick reflexes, the world looks like it moves in slow motion to it. It has a hydrophobic covering on its iron armor, preventing it from rusting. There’s another thing, however. The lower cannons pack a weapon that is possibly unmatched amongst all other creatures in the entire facility. Megacastrum drink quite a lot compared to other creatures, but not because they are super thirsty. Part of the water they drink is stored in a sack inside the lower arms. It can build up a huge amount of pressure around the sack, which is then unleashed to push the water out of the sack at great speeds. Right in front of the part where the water is pushed out there is an organic propellor held in place by an axle. By shooting a concentrated spray of CO2 against them, the propellors will start spinning extremely quickly, and accelerate the water passing through to even greater speeds, creating a canon that shoots water that can punch a hole right through steel, armor and bone with ease. The speed of the water, combined with their reaction speed makes them incredible sharpshooters, capable of hitting even small targets moving at great speeds. To make sure the propellors stay functional, they are discarded once every 2 months, after which a new one takes its place after 2 weeks. They never discard both propellors at the same time. Description: Megacastrum is a really odd looking creature covered entirely in armor. It has a cone shaped body with 4 arms and 4 legs. The arms have large cannons attached to them as well as huge spikes. The spikes on the lower cannons, as well as the cannon’s nozzle, are thinner then those of the upper ones, making the spikes more like swords then actual spikes. Its legs are insectine, except thicker, and have one large spike on them. The feet are round, with little spikes around the sides to add extra grip. Its head is that of a Giganotosaurus and is supported by a fairly long neck. It has two large, Albertosaurus-like crests on it’s head and several ones similar to it, although different sizes, on its back. Oh, did I mention anything about its spikes? LOGI Info: “Yup, looks like we’ve sold another one. I think we should start making a couple more. We’ll probably have a couple dozen more clients wanting one within the hour. Oh, errr, we’re recording? We can edit that out right? Ok, good. Megacastrum, the closest thing to invincible I’ve ever seen. These things are so well armed, I wouldn’t be surprised if their kidneys where nuclear bombs.” “In the wild, Megacastrum live in subtropical areas. They are found with a certain partner (More on that later), although they are sometimes also found alone. They are top predators. Wherever there’s a Megacastrum, its not just king, its emperor. Not only are they the very largest predators on the island, bigger even then Gigasos and Mocha Whales, but their arsenal is nothing short of incredible. Despite their slow speed, they are capable hunters. Instead of the usual ambush, though, they are snipers. They can take out huge prey from a distance with a single, well aimed shot. If they’re to lazy to do that, well, there’s always some lesser predator who’s kill it can forcibly take.” “Megacastrum form a symbiotic relationship with Atsalisaurus. They will protect them from any creatures that may try to harm them. In exchange, the Atsalisaurus will share some of the iron it finds with the Megacastrum. Like their partners, they have no mating season, and will instead mate whenever they are ready. Due to this, whenever an Atsalisaurus finds a mate, there’s a good chance the Megacastrum will find one as well. Megacastrum are not such great parents, however. The females will abandon their offspring as soon as they hatch. Fortunately, the babies already hatch with their exoskeleton, which hardens over the course of several hours.” “If you anger a Megacastrum, sorry, you’re dead. They’re an unstoppable force, with armor that only the very biggest of creatures can break. Their weaponry consists of brute, bone-breaking strength backed up by an arsenal of even deadlier chemical weaponry. They have two spikes for punching holes through pretty much anything: Hearts? Stab. Bone? Stab. Armor? Still stab. All three layered on top of each other? Meh, stab. If that wasn’t enough, they have two other spikes on their other arms. These spikes are razor sharp. Sharp enough to cut through trees. And I don’t mean the kinds of trees that you see in your local park. I mean the kind of trees that form Jurassic Park-style forests! It also helps that the spikes require an immense amount of force to break, more then their owner weighs! They can also generate electricity as well as shoot fire from their upper cannons.” “But that’s hardly the worst thing. Their lower cannons shoot liquid death. And by that I mean they store a portion of the water they drink in a special sack in their lower cannons. They can then proceed to shoot said water at high speeds, which is then accelerated to even higher speeds by a propellor and turns the water into a beam that can punch trough almost ANYTHING. Seriously, these guys can kill titans with their “liquid death” if they just aim for the right spot. Megacastrum is a terrifying beast that makes almost all creatures that aren’t several times it’s size look like frickin puppies.” “So yeah. This thing is pretty ridiculously powerful. Don’t mess with it.” ~David Gordon Other: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the very biggest carnivore GI has seen so far at 150 tons. "I'm one with the warrior inside My dominance can't be denied Your entire world will turn into a battlefield tonight As I look upon you Through the warrior's eyes now I can see the fear that will ensure my victory this time!"

Again, I believe I covered the picture thing, but since I'm not 100% sure on it let's just let it slide :P. And ... that was not at all what I was expecting Megacastrum's body to look like. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it is indeed the biggest predator thus far in that sense. |

The picture thing was directed at Dr.Cool jaja, no worries, it's just that I'm pretty sure that there's a rule out there about pictures being used as responses counting as spam or something, and that SD got called out on it a long time ago. Either way, it's not that big a rule and until I can establish weather that rule is real or if it was all in my head I'm letting it slide. And boy was it a surprise. Today seems to have been full of those. |

More serious questions - How does it pump the water out with much more force than even the most powerful water jet cutter, how does it manage to maintain this force over distance, how much can it store, and how do the axle and propeller work? |

Quite simply, it doesn't. The most powerful jet cutters definitely rival, if not exceed its own cannon's strength. Not to mention, its the propellor that accelerates the already fast water to its murderous speeds. How it manages to maintain it over distances, well, obviously the force does decline. But the sheer speed of the water makes it so it can travel a good distance before the decline actually makes a difference in how much you where murdered. I haven't figured out a specific amount, but its not that much. Its shots are rather quick and sort of like bullets. If it tried a sustained beam. It would very quickly run out of ammo. The axle and propellor work similarly to Sawesome's axle and saw. Basically, the propellor grows on the axle, until it is functional, then it detaches, but is still held in place. When it wants to fire, it squirts the propellor with concentrated CO2 to make it spin rapidly. Water passing through it is further accelerated to incredible speeds. There are real water pumps that that use propellors to accelerate water to high speeds. |

It seems that the 'bullets' are more of a force/blunt trauma thing than something that can actually punch a hole through things - that's where I was getting the jet-cutter comparison thing from. |

Well, they do punch holes through things like water jet cutters. The force of the water is enough to blow a hole into a creature, usually 2 holes, one where it enters and another where it exits. It simply doesn't use a sustained beam to slice its enemies to bits, instead using well aimed shots to usually kill them in one shot by punching a hole through their brain, heart or throat. |

Quite an interesting challenge for any one who wishes to face it. It seems the best way to attack it would be with multiple, fast creatures. However, they'd also need to be packing a power that a pack or swarm is just to small to provide. Ergo, I conclude that a combination of speed and power to be the best offense against it, however perhaps the best weapon against it would be a tag-team possessing those qualities... EDIT: Now, pondering over it a bit, I do have to say it feels like its water blasts are exaggerated in terms of power, and the "physics" rigged/displayed in such a way as to create that exaggeration. |
