So anyone watch this/read the mango?

I've been watching the series on Netflix, and just finished it today. Normally I don't like Anime; human proportions are usually of if you catch what I'm saying, dialogue can be a bit forced, too much standing around and talking instead of treating a situation realistically, and those dumb dumb little faces they make. This show changed my entire attitude towards Anime, and is now one of my favorite all time shows.

Granted, on occasion it does fall into the pitfalls I mentioned above, especially with the standing around and talking, but the rest of it is pulled off enough that I can let it slide a bit. The story behind it is really interesting, and I was always wanting to know what happened next, and every character, main and side, has a considerable amount of backstory to them.

Which is what makes it all the worse when they die.

Attack on Trost district was easily the highlight of the show. It did a very good job of avoiding red-coat syndrome I felt, and every time anyone died I thought I was about to cry. They did a good job in making it feel heavy, dismal, and permanent.

I don't know, I really liked it. You guys?

I don't specifically watch it, but I catch clips of it and know basically the whole plot line and all that. I rather like it. Perhaps some day I will read it or watch it completely, but at the moment I have no time for that.

MLS is, and always will be, slightly more intelligent than Ayn Rand.

I like how you’ve crossed out the actually sensible thing, in favor of being Smaug.

The best thing that's happened to me in a long long time. Welcome back bro, I've missed you.

I've never gotten around to getting into it, my friends spoiled too much stuff to make it really worth watching, and every time I think about it I just remember the creator apparently supported Japanese war crimes which left a bad taste in my mouth.

What I can say for it is that I've heard the dub is ridiculous, and that Sasha is best character.

I probably should get into it, but my brother obsesses over it a bit too much. I've seen like two episodes and they were good but I'm not sure if I really want to get into it.

Yeah, the dub's kind of ridiculous (the main character sounds like Christopher Nolan's Batman), but I can't stand subs.
