Name (of creature): Russian Rose Fungus (or just Rose Fungus for short)
Base DNA: Amanita, Cordyceps, Bombardier Beetle, Spitting Spider, African Grey Parrot, Termite
Swarm Size: 1000 (500 coachmen, 250 walls and 250 spore carriers)

Coachman:
Height: three inches
Diameter: one inch
Weight: Super light, if it wasn't growing out of the head of an insect it would get blown away in the breeze
Abilities: Control Carriage (loosely)
Weaknesses: Very frail fruiting body, Cannot survive without a carriage, Fruiting body is highly sensitive to pain and may panic the carriage if injured
Defenses: Carriage, Does not require fruiting body to function
Special Attributes: Controls Carriage
Description: A very small amanita sprouting from the head of the carriage. There is often two or more fruiting bodies.

Wall:
Height: variable, though does not exceed 1 foot.
Length: variable, though does not exceed 1 foot.
Weight: variable, rarely ways more than 1 lb.
Abilities: N/A
Weaknesses: Has no offensive abilities, cannot move
Defenses: tough chitin skeleton supporting the mycelium
Special Attributes: No vitals
Description: Tough mycelium. Never develops a fruiting body, unlike other castes. They often tangle together and eventually fuse with each other.

Spore Carrier
Height: Five inches
Diameter: one and a half inches
Weight: 1 oz
Abilities: explode
Weaknesses: Dies upon attacking, Lacks any senses and relies on being attacked to attack back
Defenses: toxic spores, acidic mucus
Special Attributes: See Defenses
Description: An amanita, however the cap is sealed at the bottom, creating a spotted red bulb rather than a cap. Only grows on top of wall mycelium.

Name (of creature): Carriage
Base DNA: Termite, Cicada, Cockroach, Funnelweb Spider, stag beetle
Swarm Size: 500
Height: 4 inches
Length: 1 ft
Weight: 2 lbs
Abilities: invenomate, slash
Weaknesses: Never backs down, Not very smart, not particularly fast, if the coachmen is lost will become incredibly panicked and will flee rather than fight
Defenses: exoskeleton
Special attributes: incredible strength, requires very little oxygen, immune to Rose Fungus spores, Incredibly aggressive, venomous claws on front limbs, can survive without a head or abdomen (but not missing both)
Description: A cicada nymph with a short pair of stag beetle jaws where the mouth should be.

LOGI: the Rose Fungus enjoys damp, cool locations. They can be found at just about any altitude and in many environments, as long as there is an area for the colony to stay damp and cool most of the day.
Walls form the basis of the nest, with mycelium struts and floors creating many levels. Sometimes a nest may be over 100 feet in height. There are often chambers spread evenly throughout the nest designed specifically for food to be dropped off in, where the walls will absorb the nutrients from the carcasses and distribute it to spore carriers and other walls in the nest.
Carriages spend their entire life in a nest. While fully conscious and capable of free thought, are also "encouraged" by their coachmen to behave incredibly aggressively and to go hunting. oftentimes raids of 100 or so individuals will trek in a single file line out of the nest and into the wilderness to find food, killing anything they can in their path and taking it (often in chunks) back to the nest. Every so often they will take pieces for themselves and the coachman to feed on.
When not being controlled by a coachman, carriages are actually quite docile creatures, and in the small populations that are not under control by rose fungus nests, they peaceful sit on the trunks of trees, drinking sap. When they are under the possession of a rose fungus nest, they will seek out the closest nest and will "integrate" themselves into it, mating with any other carriages that have made their way there and laying eggs into the sides of the nest. They will stay in the nest from then on unless needed to hunt. While not particularly intelligent on their own, their cognitive abilities are increased a hundred fold when taken over by a coachman.
When a nest becomes too large to properly maintain, a small band on carriages will carefully remove a spore carrier from its position, cautious to not cause an explosion, and will then carry it off into the wilderness to find a new location, where they will then allow the spore carrier to explode and spread spores throughout the new nest area.

I hope the picture isn't too bad, I drew it at like 1 in the morning so I wasn't exactly up to making the shading particularly dark. :P

Also it was taken with my phone because I'm lazy and just want this out of the genetics lab.
