So where are we going to meet up and set up our home base? I'd like some coords to start heading there I'm on the south beach currently, but I have no loyalty to it. All I have is a sleeping bag, a pet dilo (Which I will release if I move to a different location with you guys) and a sleeping bag.

I'm willing to specialize in hunting/raiding. Just need to level until I get the bow and I will be set.

@Location: If it was my choice alone, I'm inclined to say we go to the southwest area. Either the peninsula with the green obelisk, or the island in the 70-80/30-40 square, or even the big island the next square above that. Probably the 70-80/30-40 square to start, since it is going to be the closest spot for us all to reach out of those three. No one else has had anything to say about location since my last post, though, so IDK what everyone else thinks of that.

@Specializations: What everyone has suggested for themselves sounds like a good and well-rounded plan to me.

@Quetz: Niiiice. Although, has there been any word as to when we can expect to see any more critters actually added in-game?

The only problem I foresee with a northeastern location is that I seem to recall seeing on the chat mention of there being at least one good and at least somewhat war-ish tribe set up that way. I still think that big island towards the middle would be good terrain and location eventually, but to start with, maybe we should look toward the west coast? Maybe somewhere on that southwestern peninsula that the green obelisk is on? IDK, but those of us already on the server are in the southeast, so our three options are to go north, west, or inland to that big island.

Also for reference, I have been focusing primarily on buildings. Mind you, building takes a lot of work so it wouldn't by any means be bad if there was more than one of us for that. I think between DG having saddles and me buildings, the only other things I can think of are weapons and armor. Stuff like narcotics, storage, and forges might be the other things.

Hmmm... Might have to look for a different location then.

That said, the peninsula at the obelisk isn't much better of a spot then the other peninsula, neither is the 70-80 lat/30-40 long island, seeing as, if I recall correctly, the main base of Sally's Helpers is actually located ON that island! And if I'm wrong about that, then their base has to be located on the peninsula. Either way, those areas are off limits to us.

If we want aquatic mounts, I'd suggest 15 lat/40 long, 47 lat/18 long and 53 lat/83 long as viable areas. The last is the only one of those I've been to recently, and, last time I checked, there aren't any other tribes around that area. Of course, I would still recommend scouting the other two areas.

As for building, as you might be able to guess from the big house that our that the Immortals currently reside within that I just so happened to build, I can at the very least assist in building wooden structures. That said, besides saddles, I'm going for a bit of a jack-of-all-trades route with my engrams, so I woulcn't mind including metal buildings in there as well.

I'm inclined to dismiss the 15/40 site as too far away for current consideration. 53/83 is nicely close by, although there is the possible northeast tribe I mentioned we might need to worry about. I think though that it is probably as nicely distanced between the Immortal camp and the "northeast tribe" as we're going to find. Plus, we also have recent scouting of it to have a rough idea what is there. 47/18 would be fine, but it is further away and not yet scouted.

53/83 seems like the most promising of those three to me given the circumstances.

I'm fine with 53/83, I'll start heading there in the morning. It may be a while, I may even just decide to respawn there, I believe that's near one of the East spawns, which would be my only objection to the location.

So I logged out and I ended up dying, not sure if someone killed me when I was offline because I'm not sure how that works entirely or if the patch just wiped inventory, either way I hid next to my storage box when I logged out. It's got mainly my tools, but also about 6 narcotics inside which might be of some use. I haven't got the chance or the mount to start pumping out narcotics yet.

Or instead of moving to the location, I can go scout 47/18. But from experience in single player, I know there are sabre-tooths up around there, which are really fast and really strong.

53/83 seems pretty populated. They've got the ARK administration Q/A tribe thing and DA tribe. I'm currently huddled over my sleeping back with my dilophosaurs, Dill and Dozer, hoping no one slaughters us in our sleep lol

Hmm, that is not great. What other options do we have, though? It's 53/83 or 47/18, or else we need to go all the way to 15/40 unless we wish to forego a coastal location. Either way, I don't expect we're going to find anywhere that isn't already at least somewhat inhabited. We can have Sigma scout 47/18 to see and compare what is there to 53/83, but whatever he finds we're still going to have to pick one of those two. I definitely don't want somewhere overpopulated, yes, but at this point we really just need to pick a spot and get started as much as anything.

EDIT: The only other thing I notice is that 53/83 appears to have more flat land near it than 47/18 does. That would be better for expanding and building a bigger base, but there should be enough flat land at 47/18 to be manageable, too.

So I'm currently in the Southwest part of the map following the river up from the obelisk, and it has some nice open spaces and I've so far only seen two foundations, I'm currently around the 70-80/20-30 range, not a lot of landmarks to go off if. I'd be willing to put that up for suggestion?

Have not seen any tribe activity, just a partially built wood house guarded by a tamed Trile.

If there isn't a lot of tribe activity, I'd think that'd be a good spot, actually. Near the obelisk so we can go do whatever's down there if we want to, and on the coast.

It's really nice down here as well, plus if we do choose, we'll be close to the South 2 river. The only problem is that we won't be near any mountains for the much needed metal during the late game.

And after much figuring out, I am currently at that small lake at 75/21. There's a nice waterfall down the lake from me.

Well, if there's no tribes around, that's a good sign at least. Just make sure to scout the entirity of the 70-80/30-40 island. If the Sally's Helpers tribe is still there, setting up camp around 70-80/20-30 is basically suicide. In fact, I'd suggest checking out the 68/56 cave area as well. If their base over there is still active, I'd prefer not to settle in around 70-80/20-30, even if their big 70-80/30-40 base is gone.

Aye aye captains! Check the 70-80/30-40 island, and he 68/56 cave, though that may be a too far to matter.

I should mention that because I died while on the way from my little temp base to that obelisk, the only things on me are berries, so I'm not exactly the most weaponized. So this is going to be fun.

On the another noe if anyone is in the 88/67 area I have a storage box hidden on top of one of the rocks with about 6 Narcotics and a couple berry seeds if anyone wants it? Once I can finally get settled, I'll can start pumping out Narcotics for sleeping/taming/keeping prisoners/what have you.

Probably just as well you don't have anything on you to lose, really. If the people DG is worried about are there, I doubt stone weapons are going to help you much. :P

And wait, 88/67... those coordinates are in the water. I think I know where you mean, though. :P

So I was exploring presumably south of where Sigma was and there is actually a fairly large tribe called "Tribe of the Oasis" living there on a cliff. I don't think they're aggressive, though, as there were many smaller settlements owned by singular players very near them, and they had left a sign in front of one of them that inferred they gave they owner a bow.

There is also a massive fence blocking a wide canyon near it. Presumably theirs, but I kind of fell down the cliff in the middle of the night and died so I'm not sure. :P

EDIT: Here's the fence for anyone interested, apologies for bad graphics and darkness.
