You can also -as Sigma and I tested- have a Gigantopithecus toss you, and then toss the Mesopithecus while you're in mid-air. It is very fun. XD ...Unlike trying to get walls to place in the right direction indoors. If you'll excuse me, gentlemen, I have a date with a REALLY strong drink now that I'm done with all that. EDIT: @Ty: You are correct, but it isn't really a proper kitchen as such. It's rather like a kitchen, but jammed to one side of the bases' great hall. Hence I called it the cooking area. XD That also reminds me, the second floor (as I alluded to in my rage against wall-placement) is done. Just need to add the towers and railings now, and any other furnishings inside.

So I got my single player world back on track. After luring the Alpha raptor away from my base, I soon found out afterwards that Dimorphodon do absolutely ridiculous damage and you shouldn't try to tame them with a slingshot. After that I decided to wander back down to the green obelisk because I lived about half a day's walk from it, if that. While I was there I found a female Parasaurolophus stuck in some trees and ended up taming Peanut Jr Jr. After taking Peanut Jr Jr home, we went out to go check a supply drop up on the ant-infested cliff (luckily only Drones spawned this time) and while we were there I ended up chasing some Phiomias into the water (and killing them). So I'm butchering them and Peanut Jr Jr is standing in the shallows when a Megalodon tries to attack Peanut Jr Jr and sits there on the shore. I grab my slingshot and beat it with rocks, probably 100+, and eventually after I run out I just punch it some and manage to knock it out. It took about an hour (as I have tame speed increased because I'm lazy and alone) and now Teacup is the second member of the family. |

Hahahaha, nice. And yeah, Dimos are tricky to tame/KO. They move like flying raptors, but if you DO get some, they are apparently really good against big creatures/alphas if you don't have a big mount yourself. |

Yah that's why I was trying to tame it, because I wanted defense if the alpha raptor came back but after dying four times I decided I didn't need one that badly.

Have you tried a Dillo pack? Not as good as Dimos, but they'd be an okay-ish substitute until you can get something better. And they're far easier to tame.

I can barely feed myself and a Megalodon I can't kill enough stuff to feed anything else at this point. Also Dilos hit stuff accidentally a lot and are much easier to kill. There are tons of trikes and Carbonemys around my base so I don't want to have to deal with that. |

TBH, if you get a nice little pack of Dillos built up you can easily use them for hunting too. They won't be able to take on everything, but I've had some good luck (and fun) the few times I've taken our pack out. I agree, they are nowhere near as good as Dimos, but they do make a decent stepping stone towards better things. |

So guys, I've been playing a lot of survival of the fittest recently, and I've gotten a pretty solid strategy down. Me and my team even got second place in one of the preliminaries for Unatural selection (really bummed we didnt win and get into the secondaries.. maybe if they had kept the end date that they planned instead ofending early, I would have had a chance. But ugh. Basically the strategy is run to the middle, hope you grab something useful like a bow and arrows or a metal weapon and book it to the blue obelisk. Dont stop, just keep moving. NO ONE goes that far out, and dinos are easy enough to outsmart. First goal is power level with wooden foundations until you are level 10, make tranq arrows, tame a trike/stego, then power level to 20 so you can make the saddle for said herb. From there, we move to the mountain that our mining base was at, and 1 person begins moning metal and processing while the other power levels to the large creature saddles (40 for bronto and 45 for rex/spino). Pound out arrows like crazy, tame as many trikes as possible, and possibly get a giganto pithocus. You have no idea how powerful it is in this format. I've won a couple times, with one being me, my stego, bronto, and giganto, vs two other teams. The bronto is an invaluable meat shield/heavy artillery, just slow. The giganto went apeshit and killed a rex and two carnos, while my steg and bronto tool out the other teams spino. I'm in love lol |

Awesome! That's sort-of the strategy I've been thinking of; despite what Hunger Games would tell you, it makes MUCH more sense to try and quickly grab an early advantage if you can. Otherwise you'll be playing way to much catch-up to everyone else. |

So Peanut Jr Jr is dead now because she got stuck on ants which obviously killed her because as the dossier says they are passive. After that I tried to tranq a spino because I had almost done it before but the spino ran off. However this particular spino felt it decided like climbing cliffs the previous spino had been unable to climb and killed me so I ended up back at my old house (after getting Teacup I moved houses since I had no way of easily taking him back, plus my other house was fairly remote) While wandering around I found a scorpion who for some reason would loose taming after eating meat which was definitely annoying so I ended up killing it. So I wandered back home, Teacup sitting in his spot as usual, and this time I brought all my junk from the old house (which is what Peanut Jr Jr and I were doing when she died) but making the slingshot to knock out the scorpion meant I didn't have enough hide to make the bed. so after wandering around a bit I found some turtles who I proceeded to pelt with arrows. After I ran out of arrows and they broke my slingshot, I led them to Teacup, who I set to aggressive in a dumb attempt to get him to attack the turltes. He did kill one but then he rocketed off upriver like a bullet and killed countless coelocanths before I managed to whistle him to stop. So I'm leading him back to camp and he apparently gets caught on an invisible barrier that is probably there to prevent megs from getting upstream in the first place, so while trying to figure out how to get him past it again a Megalodon spawns right in front of him and they get into a fight. Teacup is only level 5 so I'm worried he'll be killed, but luckily the Megalodon was a level 12 so Teacup had the advantage, being tamed. so this somehow fixed him being stuck and I brought him home, and I opened his inventory because Ik Megs drop teeth and I wanted some prime meat. I found four teeth, but instead of prime meat apparently the meg had berries, a bow, and a spear on it. I have no idea why. |

So I went out to look for a scorpion to replace Snippy from a while back and I ended up dead because the game glitched me inside of a scorpion, preventing me from moving... I swear everything that ends up killing me or my pets is a glitch of some sort more often than not. So I respawn (luckily not having lost much) back at the old base and of course when I have nothing on me is when all the scorpions spawn, but then a good 15 or so meganeura come from nowhere and attack me, I barely make it out alive but I get back to my base and Teacup is fighting three Megalodon. He managed to kill one, but he wasn't strong enough to take on any more than that. One swam off and the other survivor got stuck on the dead killer's body, luckily I had found a supply drop on the way back and gotten a bunch of tranq arrows, and I managed to tame Teacup Jr, murderer and heir to Teacup. He's already killed more sharks than Teacup and I've had him less than a day. |

So my quick notes; -IRRC, the ants a currently set to the aggression that they are as a sort of "placeholder" for the meantime and are supposed to be changed eventually. I think... -When you say you fed the scorpion meat, just to confirm, was it raw or spoiled? They prefer spoiled, so if you were feeding it raw meat that might have been hindering you. -There has been a glitch regarding following in the water for a while, but it's safe to assume that eventually it will be fixed. Hopefully. In the meantime it IS rather a pain. On a separate note; YAY! Megaloceras dossier! Doesn't look too bad at all, all things considered. |

So quite the adventure today. Most of the day was uneventful wandering in search of a scorpion... got killed by a carno at one point... so then I decided to cross the inlet/river mouth my base is at to look for scorpions over there. So I'm wandering around and I see something dark in the water on the other bank, so I take a peak under and eventually have a Sarcosuchus following me... I start pelting it with stones and manage to knock it out (with the help of a Carbonemys, who worked as a nice distraction and eventually a nice meal for the Sarco) and it took a very long time to tame- definitely longer than either Teacup or Teacup Jr, even though the Sarco was only level 4. So I tamed Tickles the Sarcosuchus, and started walking him back home. I'd have to swim across the inlet of course which was always a danger but I saw no Megs besides Teacup on the other side. Of course then nightfall sets in and fog rolls in so I'm practically blind and I'm not going to risk it, and we wait out the night on the shore. When dawn approaches, we start swimming across and I notice Teacup is busy fighting a shark- for quite a long time, which is unusual because he usually tears other sharks apart. Suddenly Tickles bolts across the inlet and joins the fray, the other shark had been about even with Teacup before but now with Tickles helping out, he was outmatched, and Teacup (lvl 9) and Tickles (lvl 4) managed to take out a lvl 33 Megalodon. Teacup is currently stuck in place so he's not in the best location, but luckily Tickles should help keep an eye on him if he gets attacked. Hopefully. Also, the dead meg got very distorted from being pushed around and at first I thought that they had added the Dunkleosteus and didn't tell anyone.
