Name (of creature): Avolparosia nychtus (Uncomfortable presence of the night) (AKA: Paranoia) Height: 50 centimeters Length: 2 meters (6.6 feet) Weight: 65 kilograms Number in pack: 3 Primary diet: Mini-large creatures Habitat: Temperate/boreal forests and caves. Base DNA: Ganges River Dolphin, Mimic Octopus, Tiger Beetle, House Mouse Abilities: Can move at speeds of up to 80 mph. Rather puny bite force of 16 kilograms. Can lift up to 20 kilograms. Can leap 7 feet up and 15 feet across. Weaknesses: Lack of strength and weaponry makes them nearly entirely reliant upon Terror in order to kill their target. With the exception of their legs, they are quite fragile. This is further enhanced by their small stature. Due to their unusual hunting tactics, Paranoia have little experience in killing targets in a more conventional manner. Blind. Defenses: Stealth, speed, exoskeleton on their legs, weaponry and Terror. Special Attributes: Highly advanced chromatophores allow them to become nearly invisible, especially to creatures with poor eyesight. Can climb on almost any surface. Echolocation. Venomous bite. Almost immediately after the venom is injected, the target will begin to have an increased production of adrenaline. They will also become more prone to feeling any variety of fear (Such as, say, paranoia or terror). Paranoia are asexual, and reproduce asexually. As a result, they are all more or less genetically identical. Description: An eyeless Ganges River Dolphin without lips or fins. It also has Tiger Beetle legs. Name (of creature): Frikarfia nychtus (Spiked horror of the night) (AKA: Terror) Height: 5 meters (16 feet) Length: 8 meters (26 feet) Weight: 6 tonnes Primary diet: Small-large creatures Habitat: Temperate/boreal forests and caves. Base DNA: Gorilla, Horned Lizard, Tokay Gecko, Ganges River Dolphin, Mimic Octopus Abilities: Quite agile, especially for its size. Top speed of 22 mph. Very strong. Each of its arms is capable of lifting 3 tonnes (6 tonnes combined), as well as strike with a force of 4.5 tonnes. It can also throw anything weighing 4 tonnes or less. Can switch between a bipedal and a quadrupedal gait depending on its needs. Weaknesses: Due to their unusual hunting tactics, Terror has little experience in killing targets in a more conventional manner. Blind. Defenses: Spikes, bulk, weaponry and Paranoia. Special Attributes: Although not quite as potent at Paranoia’s, Terror also has chromatophores for camouflage purposes, though they cannot mimic patterns of a decent degree of complexity. It’s naturally red coloration makes it automatically more intimidating and terrifying to the vast majority of creatures. Can scale almost any surface thanks to the gecko hairs on its hands and feet. Echolocation. Description: A huge, scaly Gorilla-like creature with a short, skull-like face. It has ram horns, a short tail and no eyes. It also has spikes on its chin, jaw, shoulders, hips and back. LOGI Info: “On Genome Island, there are plenty of monstrous creatures. Some make you feel uncomfortable, others will make you wet your bed. But there are two creatures who inspire such fear that they have actually turned it into a weapon powerful enough to kill you on the spot.” “Found mostly in boreal and temperate forests, Terror and Paranoia don’t exactly have the most subtle names of all time. From birth to death, they live together in the caves they call home. During the day, they mostly just sleep or groom each other. However, it is during the night that they are most interesting.” “From twilight until dawn, Horror (The official name for a group comprised of one Terror accompanied by several Paranoia) roam the woods. During this time, they hunt, using their chromatophores to blend in with the dark environment. Once a suitable target has been located they execute their unusual hunting strategy. The Paranoia begin by making the presence of one of them known, getting in one of their venomous bites as soon as possible. They will proceed to creep their target out, taking turns in making appearances, making it seem to the target as if they have some sort of supernatural teleportation abilities. Once the target has been frightened enough, Terror makes its appearance, usually charging out of the brush or dropping from the trees in the blink of an eye before unleashing a terrifying roar. Against larger prey items, they have even been known to jump directly upon their face. In the majority of the cases, the sheer terror caused by its sudden, horrifying appearance, as well as the prior fear and adrenaline rushes caused by the Paranoia are enough to kill the victim through a heart attack. Depending on the size of their kill, Horror will often carry their kill to their cave home, where they feed on it. Although unusual and complicated, this strategy has very little risk involved for the predators, whilst allowing them to take down prey of almost any size.” “Their elusive nature as well as unusual hunting strategy makes an actual fight involving them a fairly rare occurrence. However, I have observed enough to get a good idea of what they do if such a scenario does occur. Unlike most creatures that live in groups, Horror fight in a very uncoordinated fashion. Terror, thanks to its size and strength, is the one that does the actual fighting. Terror’s strategy is simply to overpower the opponent and beat them to death. Simple, but it can prove quite effective. The Paranoia on the other hand, due to their lack of weaponry and durability, usually just stick around, looking for any opportunities they may get to sneak in a hit. However, given the aforementioned lack of weaponry, the extent of their contribution rarely goes any further then a few small bite marks.” “That’s all I got for Horror. Happy Halloween!” Other: To bad I already used Fear of the Dark for Dracarchigos. It fits so well with these 2 as well. ![]()
