Surprised there isn't a topic for this yet. Anyways, Depth is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that pits divers against sharks. There are four divers and two sharks, so it shouldn't come as a surprise the sharks are at a serious advantage. Both teams have "tickets" which are how many lives they have. The divers get 34, and the sharks get 32. The divers must escort the robot S.T.E.V.E to several safes to collect gold without letting him be destroyed by the sharks. Sharks win if S.T.E.V.E is destroyed or divers are all killed. (Note divers loose all tickets if S.T.E.V.E is destroyed but the game ends after a preset amount of time if they don't all die). Divers win if S.T.E.V.E visits all four safes on his route and makes it back to the ship, or when all sharks are dead. Divers have a variety of equipment to kill sharks- military grade pistols and AR's, spear guns, harpoons, sea mines, even underwater turrets, as well as things to help them get kills, such as nets or modifiers to weapons such as bleed or poison. There are five default divers and two buyable skins (though they use the same model and are bought together) to choose from. Sharks, on the other hand, have six classes to choose from, each with its own abilities that can be leveled up and stats. Great White- The great white is a slow but tanky shark, able to take hits and deal good damage, but his speed and size make him a very easy target. His ability allows him to absorb some extra damage to significantly increase his durability, with the third level on it allowing him to ignore nets. Tiger- Slightly smaller than the great white, the tiger is faster and does the same damage, but is significantly less durable. Its stamina is horrible, but where it really shines is its ability to cloak for short periods, allowing it to avoid detection and to be harder to see. Mako- even smaller and faster than the tiger with again equal damage, it is even less durable and can only take four shots from a pistol before it dies. Its stamina is double that of the tiger, allowing it significant mobility. Its ability allows it to earn extra points from having marked divers killed to spend on evolutions, allowing it to get a head-start on divers quickly out of the gate. Hammerhead- The hammerhead is between the tiger and great white in size and speed, but shares the tiger's horrible stamina, and the great white's durability. It does only half the damage of other sharks, but if it hits a wall while holding a diver, does extra damage- at top speed at a relatively perpendicular angle, this can kill a diver instantly. Its ability allows it to regain some stamina (And some health at max level) when it hits a wall. Thresher- The thresher is the smallest of the sharks (not counting its tail which puts it about just the same length as a great white), and is second in speed and stamina only to the mako. However, it is also second to the mako in lowest health, though noteably its health is closer to the tiger's than the mako's. when it grabs a diver in its mouth, it begins to thresh rather than thrash, and any other divers hit by its tail will take equal damage to the diver in its mouth- though like the hammerhead is does only about half the damage of the other sharks. Its ability allows it to whip its tail forward, creating a pressure expansion around it and taking between 40-60% of a diver's max health if they are near it. In a larger radius (and with the ability leveled up), it can damage walls and equipment such as turrets and sonar buoys, and will turn off flashlights of divers. Bull- The bull shark is rather similar to the tiger shark- slightly shorter but just as beefy, it has slightly better stamina than the tiger, but it can't attack as frequently (a trait it shares with the hammerhead and great white), its damage is about 66% of the other shark's damage normally. However, where it shines is that when its ability is activated (and given time to charge, a unique part of its ability) it gains a second health and stamina bar on top of the ones it already has, and its thrashing and damage to walls doubles, allowing it to kill faster than any other shark other than the hammerhead. this power is short lived, however, so caution must be taken when using it, as when it ends, the bull is back to being frail and bad at killing. As mentioned, sharks can upgrade as well with "evolutions", gaining 10 points for each kill (mako earns 5/10/15 points for each marked target killed, which stacks with the 10 from the kill if the mako is the one who made the kill). These evolutions are usually helpful abilities, though they can't be removed or swapped like diver equipment. Some examples of things that abilities can do are increase mobility, give minor damage buffs, and give significant buffs after a kill. all sharks have the potential to get the same evolutions, though not all are as useful for some sharks as others. For example, the powerful tail evolution, which allows the sharks to lunge or dart (the two forms of attack all sharks have) with a diver in their mouth. This gives the mako an incredibly buff, but for the great white who is significantly easier to hit and slower, this is not as useful. |
