Name (of creature): Improbiusterribilisconchyliorum poseidon (Poseidon's Shocking Terrible Shellfish) Height: 5 ft Length: 10.5 ft long Weight: 500 lbs Base DNA: Mantis Shrimp, Dragonfly, Electric Eel, Axolotl Abilities: The Zappunch has a Hunter's organ (similar to those of electric eels) inside each of its bullet-like fists, delivering an electrical charge, along with the Mantis Shrimp's fast and deadly fists, easily breaking through heavy armor. The gills of the Axolotl also compliment the eel's DNA, helping the Zappunch survive out of water for short periods of time (Up to two hours) Weaknesses: Due to its dependence on water, The Zappunch must stay near water, such as rivers, lakes, swamps, or oceans. Although its armor keeps it safe, it is rigid, making the creature turn slower than vertebrate creatures the same size as it. The armor also can succumb to the pressures of deep seas, or something pressing down with immense force onto its carapace. The tail of the Zappunch is not armored, making it easy to penetrate with sharp objects/smash with blunt objects/burn/freeze. Like most invertebrates, the Zappunch cannot deal with extreme heat or cold well, with the most extreme situations ending with it either boiling alive or freezing to death. Defenses: The Zappunch has a dense exoskeleton covering its upper half, making it hard for sharp objects to penetrate its tough shell. Special Attributes: The creature also has an electromagnetic field, making it easy to detect prey or predators quickly. The Zappunch can also use its mouth to keep other creatures in punching range. Description: The front half of the creature mainly resembles a Mantis Shrimp, except for the small dragonfly wings on its back, red, frilly gills next to its eyes, and the extended mouth of a Dragonfly nymph. Its back is an unarmored red back half of an electric eel, fins and all. LOGI Info: The Zappunch is a dangerous creature that resides in the mangrove, hiding in the sand and waiting for unsuspecting prey to wander into punching/biting range. Zappunch mate for life, making thousands of eggs under closer to shore mangroves. The reason that the Zappunch produce so many is that, while the male goes out and waits for food (which may take days), the female may choose to feed upon a small amount of her eggs. Once the eggs hatch, the young creatures (called zapplings) follow their mother everywhere until they are a month old, when the mother, not being able to find food due to the unmistakable cloud of zapplings, begins to gorge herself on the young, causing them to either break their parental bonds or stay and get eaten. Only 1/3000 Zappunch ever reach adulthood, mainly due to predation from other Zappunch. Other: He don't taste good with butter. |

Aside from possibly the weight (which the resident weight wizard will address if it is needed) I don't see any obvious issues with it. Just needs a picture and it should be good to go. A very good job for your first creature. |

I'm going to wait a little just in case anyone has time and is kind enough to draw up something a little better, but if nothing else I might let it pass. |

Alright, here it is:![]() On another note, I do see some issues. The weight is fine, but the height/length ratio seems off. My Spore model, which is proportionally taller than the Zappunch in your drawing, is only about 5 feet tall at the head with a 10.5 foot axial length (Not counting the antennas, the jaws and the arms). If the 10.5 feet measurement is supposed to be measured over the curves, then its height would be less still. Granted, there's a ton of monsters out there with a severely skewed height/length ratio, so I doubt this is much of a problem. The other issue isn't so much a problem as it is a feature being severely less powerful than I think you intended. The strength of an electric eel's shock comes from the fact that a lot of its body is dedicated to the necessary organs to generate that shock. If electricity generation in the Zappunch is limited to its fists, then the shock isn't going to do much to a similarly sized opponent, certainly nothing notable when its always accompanied by a mantis shrimp mega punch. My suggestion would be to put more happy organ stuff across its body and simply have the punch be the trigger for it to release its shock. That way it still creates the effect of an electric punch. |

Alright then, I'll edit the height down to about 5 ft. And as for the electric situation, the tail is filled with electric organs, like all of the electric eel, creating a more powerful shock. Also, thanks to the size of said tail, there will be a lot of electrical power behind that punch than if it were only the size of an electric eel (6ft or so). |

As far as I can see if you made the changes DG mention it should be good to go, but I'm a bit rushed right now so I'll let Ty give it a final pass-over and do the honors. |
