Name (of creature): Krakenvine Height: It's a vine, but it usually grows from base to vine-tip at a maximum of 60 feet long. Diameter: 2 ft Weight: something like 1000 lbs I guess Base DNA: Maple Tree, Slimy salamander, strangler fig, octopus Abilities: Ooze sap Weaknesses: immobile, lack of senses Defenses: Sticky sap, grows far off the ground Special Attributes: Sticky sap, parasitic, arboreal Description: A disembodied octopus tentacle covered in thick sap. One end is rooted into the bark of a Canadian Sap Tree. LOGI Info: The primary "predator" of the Canadian sap tree is a parasitic vine. Or rather, tentacle. The Krakenvine grows outwards from its host tree straight outwards until it connects with another tree. Once it does, it uses the suction cups on its one side to attach to the tree. Here, it photosynthesizes, steals water and sugar from its host tree, and, most importantly, uses its sticky sap to ensnare small flying animals. The sap covering its body is more viscous than that of its host, preventing it from dripping too quickly, and also making it difficult for prey to escape. Other: ![]() -------------------- |
