I was messing around with halo skins not long ago, and eventually was trying my own skins and such and messed up some halo files. I tried un-installing and reinstalling, but the bad skins and such are still there.... I can run Halo as an "Administrator" with vista, and everything is fine, but I don't want to always have to run it as an administrator, because then i have to run Vent as an admin as well,, etc. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks, Corrupt |

uninstall halo, search halo, delete everything in your halo folders, and try installing it again. Halo uninstalls files associated with it, not custom files. So they are still their because the uninstaller does not remove them. |

what do you get? it could be corrupted bitmaps. thats what happens when you import a skin and click update size too much. you hsould never click that. what you do is uninstall halo go to c/program files/microsoft games/... then delete the halo folder go to my games and dlete your profiles then search system for halo and see if anything comes up to delete. then reinstall cuz that should fix it |

system restore would go way to far back I just turned off UAC, didn't realize I could do that, which'll make using vista a little less tedious. How will it help with this scenario? |

Well apparently removing the UAC worked, cool! Thanks. I guess I'll just have to be a lot more careful if i mess around with skins now... just make backups of everything and keep track of what I change. |
