That might happen, but many of the rosters have few active players, so the extra spots are for their friends who come on every once in a while. @OP: Is this a joke? You're saying three players---BBE, Esco, and Blitzer (noobs)---should split up? That doesn't make any sense. The closest sensible thing to what you're suggesting is a slightly smaller roster size. |

i don't play enough to only play with one team -> i join as meny teem as possibl 2 pley as meny maytch in as lil amount of tiem. i'm not a clan hopper, i just want to play and will play with whatever team is active and online at the same time i am.
this is what it's all about: activity this probably won't work because people will just abuse the kick/invite (30 invites is ridic) business but mb it's worth a shot: -max rosters to 7-9 -max invites to 15/month -stop new team creation after the 3rd week of the month so there arent a million empty rostered teams at the end of the month for playoffs. new players always have it hard though;\ people like playing with friends/friendlys and if noone knows who you are you're boned. my advice is to b active and post on the forums, scrim nd get frendlee nd then you'll eventually find a team nd move into the system. gl |

I also noticed that the league is always locked, meaning if new players wanna join it's almost impossible for them to join. I know we're also trying to stop ringers and what not, but the league is so dead atm that who cares? i don't think ppl who even bother ringing right now anyways. I agree and listening with everything you guys said , that's actually true, you do wanna play with your friends, and also roster size should be ALOT smaller and less invites would help alot ...unlock league too!. |

new teams should come into the league fiwdil style. even if you are really bad, practice with your friends and get some carriers to teach you about the game. once thats done and your carriers leave you at least should know what to do. i'm not saying fiwdil is a really good team, but even without "carriers" we can still do pretty well for a new team :D |

this and maybe we could have a match making system? for example, we have a special page on hpt for finding matches, first 2 clans to sign-up play a randomly picked map, color, and gametype. |

All league changes are postponed until further notice, as Sod is evading FBI agents at the moment. An interim manager of HPT will be named once we receive instructions from him. |

ehh that's not necessarily the case masood, I've been active in hpt for like 2 yrs and no one knows who the hell I am really. But that's b/c I like flying below the radar, less people annoying you. But as for making league active I wouldn't try it as of now b/c a lot of people are in school or going off to college or in their 3rd year of it (like me for instance) and cannot afford to use the computer for anything other than school work. SO good idea bout making league active but save it for next summer or christmas break |

I have a proposition ideally resolving 'too tough for new players to get involved'. we use IRC and start doing PUGs where anyone can join. 5v5 4v4 2v2 pugs. Some people don't like pugs yet other people at times simply can't find anybody to play with or against. Pugs would be the easiest way for newbs to make acquaintance with halo players, for them to probably learn some stuff, and for them to express themselves and ideally get picked up/start going around with a team (ideally a team with few players who needs more). + every other competetive community uses IRC/PUGs. even quake 3, which is of course older than halo. and even something like TF2, which is of course newer than halo. IRC success depends solely on whether we continually inhabit and idle a channel. so don't say its a 'hard' thing to do. |

sorry but no team now is good. But teams are still better than each other. Don't take this as talking shit or anything but what you said isn't true you guys have gotten raped every time your carriers didn't play. Atleast against us when i played maybe you guys beat other teams. Anyway its good to have atleast 1 ''carrier'' per team that is new even when they do still play because the carrier has been winning the games for them / sniping / doing the position they can't hold and developing teamwork together. |

I think "carriers" can't help their team win unless the other team has terrible teamwork and are below-average shooters. What new players really need are scrims with 3-4 other players that have experience with each other. Pick up games help once they have basic game mechanics and teamwork. Thread: For pugs to work, something even more basic needs to happen. We need a collective attitude change. We seem to resist new things: new concepts, new ways to play. Resistance to new players is another symptom of this general tendency. It has improved since the player base became smaller, but I think you'll agree it's still there. Perhaps it's in part due to elitism, perhaps other things as well. Essentially, the clearer we get about our knowledge of the game, the more we'll realize can be learned. We need to welcome new players and train them and have fun with them. This doesn't mean existing groups ("teams") split up; that would be unpleasant and unprofitable. If there are still players in Halo that want to join the league, we simply need to reach out to them as they come in and help them improve their game (advertising and recruiting them would help, too). I'm sorry for sounding stuffy. Edited by d'Artagnan, Sep 14 2009, 08:09 PM.

My opinion: Sod creates a rule with no talking shit allowed to each other. During Xfire, During GAME BATTLEZ, or on forums and if someone did do this they get banned for a week and people can take ss / show vids of the other person talking shit and just play like css no1 talking shit and having fun and more people getting along with each other and playing with each other[ where when i did play i basically never saw alot of people talk shit like halo ]. Not saying i don't talk shit but i do and its for a reason when i do talk shit to people. |

Not invert << baddy but i don't agree with what you said because zp [aqua] had won matches because of him dropping bombs sniping on bg. But sure it is hard on sw but still people who atleast know what their doing and still don't have a good shot and are bad can still when atleast when their carriers are carrying them but its pretty hard to do on sw. But thats why you have a good ghosting carrier and a good sniping carrier > will work out good Edited by The Situation, Sep 14 2009, 08:06 PM.

that's an innate facet of humanity at large its really a spiraling downward sort of thing. people don't suggest or promote newness because they suspect they'll be unsuccessful, and new things don't happen in part because they don't get proper support or encouragement. |

Not if you throw in "NoonE Skull's" multis. Flare: Of course we generally resist change, but in Halo it's been pathological and self-destructive. There are a lot of reasons for it I don't want to detail here. An outstanding example: When was the last time you heard of some players thoroughly examining a map for gameplay, or practicing various scenarios? The last teams I knew to do this were Noone and BF. When you've got several talented players, this won't matter as long as you're not facing an equal team, but relatively inexperienced teams can benefit hugely from this kind of preparation. |

its simple. noobs are noobs because they dont know how or dont try to get better. when kw was super active everyone had a dream team... m2k, ds, di, hg... all those teams were stacked as fuck its as simple as players need to get better and quit running around nadespamming knfr style |
